Excellent food superb selection of beers very clean polite staff always welcoming good atmosphere

By a large margin this is the coolest cafe type situation in Riverside. Americano was on point and took like 20 seconds to prepare, it was like being in Italy! Not a joke.

Such a great atmosphere. Came for lunch with two friends. Menu was brilliant, with some great choices to choose from. Front of house staff were extremely friendly, very attentive to detail, explained where we could find the menus on the boards on the wall, what was on each dish, and they suggested some of their best sellers. Two of us had the pork belly sandwich which came with the most succulent piece of pork crackling and the other had the roasted portabello mushrooms, which tasted Devine! The chefs were happy chaps too, from greeting customers, to singing in the kitchen along to the music playing. Ruby was on the coffee machine and I could not fault her pumpkin spiced latte! One of the best I have had! Thank you very much!

Excellent coffee and friendly service. All of their coffees are single origin as well so the quality is far better than 99.9% of coffeeshops.

Hemos estado yendo a Robbies durante años y siempre hemos tenido una comida y un servicio encantadores. Sin embargo, nuestra visita de hoy no fue genial. Nuestra fiesta tuvo el desayuno sándwiches de salchichas. No venía como un sándwich, eran 3 salchichas que solo estaban cocinadas y parecían enímicas sentadas encima del pequeño rollo de pan. El pan estaba bien, pero las salchichas eran muy sosas, sin sabor y parecía de muy baja calidad. Es una pena que nos encanten los pasatiempos pero no creamos que vamos a pedir salchichas de nuevo.

La comida aquí es excelente, así como el servicio al cliente. Sin duda recomendaría ir a comer. Fuimos a almorzar el domingo al comienzo de nuestras vacaciones en Sandsend y tuvimos un delicioso asado con todos los adornos (tuve la opción vegetariana que era muy sabroso). Fueron muy serviciales con nuestro pequeño nieto de 2 años y le hicieron su propia pequeña comida - muy amable.

Nice eggs benedicts, can tell the hollandaise is homemade. Nice staff and good prices, but cutlery not readied for food going outside, muffins weren't toasted and no rocket on either of our benedicts which it was meant to come with. Cappuccino nice but no plate with sugars etc which one would expect. Was good though and didn't have to wait long despite being busy. Would definitely go again. Blankets for outdoor seating was a welcome touch

Asked for an empty takeaway cup for my 4 year old daughter but was asked to pay 20p for it. Staff was also rude.

This would have been a 5 star review if I was reviewing the food only. The food was top notch. The negatives were: One of the staff who served us was miserable and quite unpleasant in her manner. The second negative was unforgivable! They do not serve tea in a pot! It comes in a cup with a tea bag floating in it attached to a piece of string. Thats the sort of thing you get in 'cafes' or roadside caravans or take aways from the local chippy - not a place like the Staveley Arms. I asked for a pot of tea and that is what was brought to me, the lady told me 'oh we don't serve tea in pots' and plonked it down. I refused it. Later I asked for a latte which was cold! Diners like to drink tea at their leisure and not having to drink it quickly to prevent it getting cold or from a saucer that is dripping tea from the tea bag! You really need to rethink how you serve tea!

We recently hosted my Mum’s 60th birthday party at Gimbals. Janet, Charlie and the whole team were amazing throughout. They helped us plan a perfect event, with a personalised menu and went all out to make the venue look fabulous. Our guests were all amazed at the quality of food and the fantastic service. I can’t recommend Gimbals enough. If you’re looking for somewhere truly unique to host a special event this is the place. Thank you so much team Gimbals!

Come tus verduras tiene una gran sensación, muy funky. Definitivamente estaba en el extremo más viejo de la clientela. Sin embargo, tuve una cálida y amable bienvenida. El restaurante tiene un toque diferente y sabroso en su menú. Tuve un par de opciones vegetales, incluyendo el Chaat de Remolacha, aunque el menú cambia regularmente. También había una interesante selección de cervezas. Hubiera gastado más dinero en un pud y más bebida, pero el servicio no fue muy proactivo y soy un tipo tranquilo. Es un gran lugar para comer fuera.

Would like to address your recent review regarding a gentleman speaking to your staff in the shop. It was me and I would like to address each thing they brought up individually My smirking was merely smiling as I was having a laugh with the wonderful staff here The conversation regarding a flat white was about the quantity of milk to put in the jug before steaming and nothing about the making of the drink The comments on her left handedness was about how either of us would struggle to best explain how to hold the jug whilst steaming the milk as me and the member of staff training her are both right handed I can only apologise for perhaps the volume with which I speak at in what is usually a quiet and lovely environment, but the conversation went nothing like how you describe and frankly the coffee is phenomenal

Came here for a family meal and it happened to be "Pie Night" (Wednesday), what a selection of pies to choose from at a really reasonable price. Other menu options also available as well as children's portions and favourites. All our diners had nothing but praise for the meals of their choice, a wonderful evening meal enjoyed in a very nice country pub atmosphere, highly recommended by all of us, well worth a visit. And finally can I say we were all made to feel welcome by lovely accommodating, polite and friendly staff, well done to everyone who made our visit so nice.
