Great food and drinks and very friendly staff. Have been a few times during peak brunch hours when we’ve had a little bit of a wait for service and food but to be expected. Great selection for vegetarians and vegans. Especially love the prana chai and all day aubergine breakfast (sorry I can’t remember the chef who the dish is named after). The cake selection is also great but have been in around the late afternoon when they were a little stale for the higher price so would recommend grabbing one earlier in the day when they are still fresh.

Very disappointing experience from a cafe that usually has such high standards. I'm a nursing Mum that was given 2 stale cakes to take away. Also, when I ordered a mezze which was lovely I was only able to eat half before rushing out to help my husband that was unwell. My Mum was left with my baby for the first time and asked for my food to be boxed to go. When baby started to cry she took him outside, when she went back in to get her glasses and bag that she'd left at the table the waitress had thrown away my breakfast that she had just asked to be boxed up. Full payment was taken for half a breakfast and 2 stale cakes that had to go in the bin.

Fantastic gluten free, vegetarian food and treats. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious. We enjoyed our visit and couldn't resist taking away some sweet treats 😊

Bobbed in for a coffee on Monday afternoon and got served the worst cup of coffee I've been served in a long time, was really burnt and got thrown away after one sip as it tasted like a whole cigarette had been ashed into my drink

We came here for the first time yesterday, our first stop of many on a round trip from Southport! So glad we found this place, we made a B line for it after seeing the reviews and the pictures! Amazing gem of a place. We had the Abirs all day breakfast with scrambled tofu and the hummus platter, which was so good. We enjoyed every part of our food and our experience here and will be back again when we are in the area. We got brownies and frangipan to take home with us, which we had for breakfast this morning. Please do yourself a favour and go here! Wonderful for veggies and vegans. There was only about 3 things on the menu which weren't vegan, so it's a real gem of a place which you need to go to! Thank you South street kitchen for delivering on everything you promise online!

Superb. Went for Valentine's Day mezze evening meal, every dish was absolutely delicious, great mock-tails and really friendly service. Love this place! One of the best eateries in sheffield for vegans. Can't believe it's taken me so long to dine out here on an evening.

Very very lovely food, and portions! There are also a couple of gluten free and dairy free sweets. I highly recommend the chai and pistachio carrot cake ✨

Staff are not great sometimes, you might get dirty looks for no apparent reason or wrong orders, lol.

We had breakfast here today on spec' (usually worth booking as it can be busy). Gideon made us feel very welcome and found us a nice table upstairs. My wife had poached eggs - perfectly cooked, I had a very tasty and aubergine and tomato dish with flat bread. Great start to the day - particularly impressed with Gideon - he's a diamond. X H

Amazing and quite safe place for kid. The design is minimalism with no heavy or sharp furniture to be worried about. There are big windows for kids to play their games aka count the cars :) The kid menu is lovely as well, especially the hummus plate with great amount of fresh veg. I definitely come back in sunny days.

Incredible place, really surprised. Went in just for a coffee, ended up staying for lunch. Crispy Potatoes tasted amazing and came very quickly. Service was lovely and our server was so nice and welcoming. (I want to say her name is Sameer but my memories rubbish) will be back to check out more of the menu.

My second time here and I love this gem. Fresh salads being made as you enter and such a vibrant menu. A beautiful calm yet distinctive space, accompanied by fantastic food and coffee. A must-visit!

Loved the place, the staff were super friendly and the food was also good. Portion was big so we two shared one dish which was the turkish eggs. The chai latte was nice hut a bit too sweet for my taste.

Very loud and echoy in here and even the person taking my order struggled to hear me over the loud music and noise they made some errors in my order and didn’t check back so only got to mention it to them afterwards bit late by then and the veg undercooked and my friend had a strange taste to her dish too The cafe looks nice but the service isn’t good even the food was disappointing and undercooked too So overall I wouldn’t go back here or recommend it unfortunately no been years since I last went here so thought to try it out again but not really good 😌

Wonderful experience here! Absolutely amazing food. I was spoilt for choice but the mushrooms on toast were delicious and the perfect portion size for me. Beautiful location and interior design. I can’t wait to come back and work my way through the whole menu!

I’ve visited here a few times however not for a long while. The venue itself is great, seating available on ground and first floor, as well as outside if the weather is kind! They have ready prepped salads, sandwiches, cakes and pastries, as well as a cook to order menu. It was difficult to know what was in each dish for allergen/intolerances. When asked the staff member wasn’t sure and seemed put out that we wanted a definitive answer, but in the end did go and ask the kitchen. I had the mushrooms on toast with a side of tofu. The mushrooms were not pleasant, had a very strong and overpowering aniseed taste. The tofu scramble was very soft, maybe using silken tofu, and very salty. My friend was also disappointed with their food quality and did raise a complaint to management about their meal. Not sure if there’s been a change, or it was an off day, but on previous visits the food has been good. I’d revisit but maybe on a weekday next time as it was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon.

Very tasty, authentic middle eastern food. The locally produced grilled halloumi is especially good. Service was excellent. The place is decorated in a quirky back-to-brick style, in a pleasant part of Park Hill with great views over the city.

Every time I visit Shef I come to South Street Kitchen. The food is delicious and the staff are really friendly. Lots of choice for vegans and not just the usual options.

Apareció justo después de las 3 de la tarde y me dijeron que no estaban sirviendo comida caliente, sino que vendían sándwiches prefabricados / ciabatta, así que opté por el Brie con cebolla caramelizada y un café con leche. Tengo que decir que el sándwich era horrible, tenía demasiada cebolla caramelizada y sin embargo tenía la más fina de las rebanadas de Brie (muy suave) todo lo que podía probar era pan y la cebolla caramelizada. Tuve que sacar la mitad de la cebolla caramelizada del bocadillo. Aunque me encantaría probar el Meze El café era bueno a menos que te guste, ya que era bastante suave

Lots of things on toast. I had the Shakshuka, which was just lots of stewed, garlicky cavalo nero with an egg on top and a pitta bread. I found it a bit underwhelming.

I had been meaning to come here for some time. I didn't realise it is so close to the railway station. Great choice of vegan subs and cakes. Nice decor and friendly helpful staff. It was early when we went in so can't comment on the atmosphere but the music was pretty good

The food here is so fresh and tasty. The menu for the tapas night was interesting and mouth wateringly delicious. Really hope to get to more of the evening openings as this was a really beautiful evening spent with good friends having a chilled night eating some amazing food. Yum.

I had a wonderful time here recently for a party. The food and service were top notch. It has a modern scandi vibe with delicious mezze food. Some of the best hummus I have ever had, and that is a lot of hummus.

Can’t really comment because it wasn’t open when we went. It mentions on Google but it was open, but actually they don’t open until 12 o’clock. Looking forward to trying it someday soon.

True to description, the food is Middle Eastern inspired but it definitely isn't Middle Eastern. For what it is, it was still all very delicious. The food and vibe of this place is very cohesive, great for special occasions or a slightly fancier meal, although you could totally wander in from a walk and still feel comfortable.

This cafe was recommended to us. The cafe is based in Park Hill Flats overlooking the city. The cafe is clean and pleasant. Our food was ok, good presentation and interest flavours. I ordered a latte and the milk tasted off. I informed the waitress who said it wasn’t off it’s the type of milk they used but she happily changed it for another drink.

Found this place while in Sheffield on business. Got takeaway lunch and was very impressed. The ambience is cool, funky, young, friendly. Lovely range of dishes on the menu, all vegetarian. I has the humus plate which has falafel, salad, spice sauce, flat bread. I was tempted by the cakes and took a muffin. Very tastey food, lovely friendly staff, just wish it was nearer to home.

I don’t live in Sheffield but this place has started to feel like home. Everyone I’m in the city I come here. It is light, funky but most of all the food is just incredible. It’s healthy, yeah but the tests are out of this world. Coffee is good and the staff are attentive but relaxed and friendly. I wish there were more places like this in the north

We called in advance on a Friday morning for lunch. It is a good job we did as it was quite busy. There was a good welcome as soon as we entered & we were shown to a table immediately. The service was excellent. I did have questions to ask on the ingredients & all were answered. The menu is mainly Middle Eastern Mediterranean. The food is so fresh and prepared on the day. I had the Mezze which I had never had before. What a treat. In a nutshell if you want a bacon butty this place is not for you. If you want fresh healthy food with lots of choice that you are not going to get anything similar for many miles this is the place. We have been a number of times before. Never once has the food been ordinary. We also love the decor.

The place is gorgeous and some of the food seems nice enough (e.g. beans on toast). But this was my second disappointing visit in a few weeks - shakshuka that was more like a soup and just out of freezer smashed pea on soggy cold toasted bread!

5 of us are here, all meals were really delicious and fresh tasting with healthy ingredients. The flat whites were also excellent. Didn't have cake this time but they looked amazing so we will return for cake another time! Views from seating were great for people watching and Sheffield skyline. Can't recommend enough

Love this place, set in Brutalist listed Park Hill it’s a great use of space offering chilled scandi style cafe tables and sofas against the brutalist concrete backdrop. The food is lovely, cakes and home made salads are especially tasty. Coffee’s dark roast but can recommend the home made kombucha . Great views of the city and the natural light that floods the cafe is perfect.

Came with my parents to try something new! Never really tried Middle Eastern food before but after my trip to south street kitchen I’ll definitely be trying again! The fresh salads are to die for! The tomato and aubergine soup was lush too!

Love what they have done with park hill in general and this place made my visit even more special - friendly staff, good food and very cool cafe carved out of the historic concrete block structure over two floors - great stuff! ☺️

The food was nice and nice atmosphere. The service was also good. Food is pricey. We had booked a table for 10:00am and at 11.10am we were told we must leave in 20mins because they need the table. It was not overly busy whilst we were there. Furthermore, at the time of booking it did not state there is a limit on how long we can have the table. This was disappointing and meant we had to rush our drink at the end especially since we were told again after 10 minutes that they need us to leave. I won't be going back.

This place is wonderful! The food is consistently delicious, the staff are always friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely. It's quiet, so you don't need to shout to hear each other, and the windows are huge so you get a lot of light.

I wasn't sure if this was the right cuisine for brunch, but I'm happy to say I was wrong! The food was delicious and I love the building with glass walls and greenery outside. A little escape from the city. A great option for vegetarians and vegans.

Caught South Street Kitchen on a last minute booking. Interior was delightful, the lady who served us was great with the recommendations and the food was pretty sublime. These guys run special menus on certain nights and we caught taco night. Flavours were explosive! Highly recommended for mates and dates.

Nice place. I would have preferred different foods to be separated on a plate instead of having everything in one casserole. We've also received water cups with a lipstick stain, waitress kindly apologized and replaced it. Overall not a bad experience. Thanks

Great little gem in Sheffield. I would recommend it to anyone. I would only drop a star as the waiting staff seem quite uninterested, but I'm not sure if that's just the quirky vibe they are going for

This is another restaurant where I'm almost tempted to leave a bad review with a view to selfishly keeping it to myself and stopping it becoming wildly popular. But I won't. Is in a great location within one of the refurbished Park Hill blocks. Reservations are recommended. We found it a little hard to find somewhere to park even on a Sunday. Brunch was great. The food was delicious and the staff were lovely and friendly. Highly recommended.

We were impressed on our first visit, unfortunately 2nd visit the aubergine dish not the same, last visit 2 days ago ordered mushrooms on toast, which was burnt to the point I struggled to cut the extremely bunt bread. Sad really

I met my friend Andrew and his two colleagues from Eastwood Camera Club-lovely people. Nice drinks, excellent view, we sat upstairs, and very good service. On a very cold January day it was busy and deservedly so.

Went for meze evening, lovely tasty food and excellent service. Although it’s termed small plates the portions are very generous. Will certainly be back

Fantastic. Worth a trip to Sheffield. Falafel wrap with soup of the day was perhaps the best thing I ate in 2023. Spice chai hot chocolate was delicious. My kids loved the granola with fruit compote, and they’re picky! Take away treats have nice variety (not your typical flapjack and bakewell tart) and always tasty.

Went with a group of friends for brunch , enjoyed it so much went back for my birthday two weeks later ! Delicious food . Relaxed atmosphere .

Got kicked out of this place; years he owner didn't like being told to pick rubbish up

Jenny and I had a lovely meal here yesterday evening - not our first, but the first in a year or so for me. Still a fine spot, with rather magical views out of the huge windows onto silver birches illuminated by lights in the winter dark. We'd chosen to come to one of their winter tasting evenings and the food was excellent as always - giant green olives to nibble to start, a large plate of Khobz bread and three dips (spiced carrot, a tangy tomato number, and baba ganoush), a bowl of roasted brussels sprouts with garlic and chilli (definitely had to watch out for the chilli here), mujadarra (lightly spiced rice and lentils - a perfect foil to the richer plates), and a bowl of Moroccan winter tomato stew. We judged the quantities about right and had just enough room to share a rich and delicious serving of chocolate and hazelnut torte to finish, served with a light ice cream. An altogether delicious meal, with attentive waitresses, a good short list of wines to choose from, and in a busy but uncrowded and unrushed setting. Good to know too that the waitresses do get the (discretionary) service charge which is added to your bill - South Street Kitchen recognises that hardly any of us carry cash now, so waitresses probably wouldn't get tips at all otherwise. Strongly recommended for good and reasonably-priced food, vegetarian too though you'd hardly notice, in a slightly out of the way place but with excellent views.

Excellent choice on menu. Very tasty fresh food, good portion sizes and (appropriately) attentive, friendly staff. A range of comfortable seating options - small/large tables and chairs to comfy low sofas. Light and airy with open views, despite dismal wet weather! Really convenient for the station, but also easy parking.
