Today....one of the best bacon baguettes ever!! Fresh baked baguette rammed overfull of quality bacon, nice people great location sat on the beach overlooking a sunny Swanage Bay, fantastic!!

Really fantastic local community bar run by the local community. They hold a great Guinness and have fantastic stone baked pizza. I was invited to the new year event and was made to feel welcome constantly. Definitely a must visit.

Had to travel through an antique shop up flights of stairs but this gem was hidden at the top. Opposite harry ramsdens on the corner. It is easy to walk past. Gluten free coeliac friendly cakes - I had choc and banana and it was melt in the middle ecstasy. Could also have things like chips - we all know in the community how just a portion of safe chips is everything. Prices are so cheap too. They definitely underprice themselves I felt. Also knowledge of local area for great food options :)

The Square and Compass is possibly one of the best traditional pubs in England. When the world continues to get more crazy, this is where I need to be. Open fires, great beer, dogs and home made food - time for an update - This pub remains in my top 5 in the world. A small part of my mind & heart is always at the S&C !

great breakfast today awful weather but a great place to visit

We were recommended to come here, it’s small limited seating- we’re lucky to get a seat by the window. Good quality, freshly cooked, no nonsense breakfast. What’s not to like.

We booked ahead as it was Saturday evening. Lovely corner table and the staff were all lovely. I had the pork belly (we saw it removed from specials board after my order) and my hubby fish pie. My pork belly was dry and the vegetables were definitely 'kept warm'. My dauphinoise was also dry. My hubby's fish pie was ok, but his veg (same as mine) were old. I appreciate it was a busy Saturday but would have expected better given their hype/reviews. We would think twice about returning.

Everything a pub should be. Warm welcome, good cider and beer, excellent rooms with fires and plentiful outdoor seating with expansive views. They serve home made pies and pasties which are absolutely top notch. A round of four pints of beer and cider and four steak pasties was £30. Not cheap but not over the top and absolutely worth it Just a perfect country pub for all seasons

Fantastic independent pub with accommodation above the bar for tourists and people working away from home. Great selection of food.

I discovered this hidden gem last year when I travelled on the paddle steamer Waverley from Portsmouth to Swanage. The service and fare on offer were exceptional last year, so I sought it out again yesterday. To my delight, the same server, Megan, was still there and she greeted me with the warmth and friendliness I had experienced last year. She even remembered me which was heartwarming as I'd been there only once before and that a year ago. I can't recommend the establishment highly enough; the produce on offer is wonderful and if you are lucky enough to be served by the friendly and efficient Megan, you will have an experience to remember.

We can for Christmas dinner as a family. The food was amazing, the staff were wonderful. We will definitely be coming back!

What a wonderful place. We had a great two nights here. The staff were all superb, the food was excellent and the rooms were contemporary, spotless and so comfortable. Can’t thank you enough for a gorgeous mini break.

At last, we have been visiting Swanage for over 30 years and the globe has always been one of our pubs of choice. It's been off the radar for the last two years or so BUT it's back, thanks to the locals for taking it on as a community pub project. We have recently been back in and it's back to the friendly welcoming family friendly pub, we went in Monday 19th August 24 and full of locals which we haven't seen for a long time. Beer etc back to a choice and all well looked after, as is the big back garden. Well done Swanage community, brilliant.
