Old Harry Bar in Purbeck

just had to pop a review on here for our experiences at Old Harry’s bar. My parents and sister were visiting for the week and we were staying very near to this ‘hidden’ gem. From the very warm welcome, to the smell of pizza and a good G&T (or 2) we spent 2 lovey evenings playing cards, chatting and relaxing. My dad enjoyed his pint. Great ambience, music to listen to but still hold a conversation in the cosy but spacious bar we felt great. Highly recommend. What an asset to Studland village

Excellent value and tasty pizzas, really friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for post-beach tea. Great option for families, board games, pool, reasonably priced drinks and dog friendly.

Great bar and food in Studland. Initially saw their A board as we drove by and didn’t think much to it. Then overheard someone at the beach and thought we’d try the pizzas. Last night was Paella night too. As we walked in the paella was being cooked- seafood and a vegan option- both were delicious. The pizza was lovely as it came out the pizza oven fresh. Lots of toppings to choose from.

Don’t be put off by the look of the place - this is not a typical country pub BUT the staff are lovely; friendly and helpful, there is a good choice of drinks and the pizzas are excellent. Dog and family friendly. Highly recommend.

Fantastic new addition to Bournemouth. 4 of us went for dinner last night & had a fabulous time. The restaurant is beautifully designed, and it had a great ambiance. I loved the menu, it’s well thought out & what we ate was absolutely delicious. The staff are also so friendly! We will 100% be going back!

Used this facility as we were staying at Knoll house. A well run village hall with friendly staff and spent a nice few hours there one evening. We had a pizza which was very nice and enough for the two of us. We visit the area regularly but this was the first time we have been to Old Harry's Bar and will return.

We popped in while visiting family nearby and were made to feel very welcomed. Great range of beer and fresh pizzas if you got hungry. Well worth popping in

This is the best of the bars we used while visiting the area. Everybody (staff and locals) are so friendly and helpful. It was so nice to have people genuinely interested in who we are and where we came from.

Great fun at the beer festival over the August bank holiday. Great beer/cider and music and food. Jim Etherington classic and Stomp Swamp got us jumping.

Lovely place with a relaxed community feel, good pizzas and beer. Lots of families and people playing cards and board games. Recommended

Visited Old Harry’s a couple of times whilst staying in a holiday home in Studland. Very nice bar with lovely pizzas. Staff made us feel very welcome especially barman Ben.

Usual quality visit to Old Harry bar. Our dog loves it as well! Located in the middle of the village. Dart board and the pool table entertain us every time. Suku is always friendly and helpful. We'll be definitely back soon.

Hidden gem in Studland! D9g friendly, great service and the pizza was awesome. Staff are warm abd welcoming- felt at home from the minute we walked through the door....kudos to Suku, the African Princess for her great hospitality. We will tell all our friends and we will definitely be back!

Having struggled (to put it lightly!) to find anywhere to eat in Swanage we ventured to Studland and stumbled across this gem of a pub! A very friendly waitress greeted us and offered us drinks. Good prices and great pizza. You get to choose from...

Visited on two evenings on short break to Studland. Evening one- quiet drinks on the terrace. Evening two- enjoyed England 2-0 victory over Germany. Very welcoming and relaxed vibe. Would recommend the pizza.

Very much a community venue. Friendly and welcoming to visiting non-members too. Limited pizza menu though very good... A welcome homely change to the usual commercial pub experience.a good , if quirky, find within the limited options in the immediately local Studland area.

The pizzas are cooked in a stone oven, very friendly staff and locals, a new real ale every week or so. Dog friendly, with free treats. Occasional live music, pool and darts, wide ranging juke box, all in all a great place to stop by...

I like going to harrys bar and having a glass of fizzy and a pizza,after taking Beauty my dog for a walk on studland beach, everyone there loves my beauty. I really enjoy goping there and making up my own pizza toppings

Staying locally we wondered into town and what a great find, really friendly welcome, great real ale and a pizza, ended up a fun evening, what a fantastic community facility

Very welcoming and friendly place with a bar that's more impressive than in most pubs. Watched rugby here on big screen and had a great time drinking and eating tasty pizzas. Already looking forward to next visit.

Outstandingly friendly with a real sense of community and fun. Great pizzas, good beer and the quiz was set just right. This was our second visit to the Pub and we will definitely bemaking many more. Pool, table football, darts and ale and music! A recipe for success.

What a gem! Friendly, cheerful staff and a well stocked bar/kitchen. Plenty of activities, raffles and quizzes peppered with live music and discos. The bar is spacious enough to be a great party venue (there is a large outdoor area as well). It is a marvellous resource for the community, and all events are well organised. The new building is well maintained and a great place to relax. I would spend much more time there if it was closer to my house!

Old Harry Bar is a great way to enjoy an evening.

Visiting the Old Harry Bar adds the final touch to a day in Studland. Tucked away just to the left, in the road opposite the village shop, you might drive past without noticing the steps to the entrance. With guest beers, craft beers, and a good selection of wines, spirts and soft drinks the bar offers a welcome and very cosy break from the long queues and hustle and bustles of the beach.

I regularly frequent this little tucked away bar in Studland. Always friendly and they have a wonderful selection of regularly changing real ales and good wine, hard to find anywhere else in the Purbecks. The stone baked pizzas are good too :) Cheers.

Fantastic local meeting place to eat and drink and chat. Regular live entertainment and everyone is always very welcoming. Its a great facility in a modern building with pool, games and much much more. A treasure!!

Made to feel very welcome by the team on our first visit. This is a members club which welcomes visitors and guests. Well behaved children welcome. Took the whole family and had a great evening at this buzzy place. Terrific live entertainment. Great guest ales for me and other half delighted with Hendricks G & T at very sensible prices. Returned following week for a takeaway pizza that exceeded expectations. Many thanks to Abner, Agi and the crew for all your hard work. A great asset to the village. Will keep coming.

I'm delighted that Old Harry Bar is on my doorstep so I can walk there and back. There is always a warm welcome from the staff and fellow members. The recent redecoration has made the club more attractive and relaxing. Freshly baked pizzas, reasonably priced drinks, occasional bands or discos add to its appeal. New members are always welcome.

Been quite a few times, close to where we used to live. Good range of drinks - and feature beers and even home made sloe gin on the right day. If you want to watch the 6 Nations, World Cup, Wimbledon or the Cricket this is definitely the place to be. Friendly staff goes without saying !

The greatly loved Old Harry Bar is run by locals in Studland. but offers a warm and friendly welcome to all - walkers, holiday makers, young and old and friendly dogs too! It's a fantastic little venue selling great beer and delicious cooked to order pizzas at really reasonable prices. We had a lovely time playing table football and snooker with our four boys between 6 and 10 while the dog slept soundly under the table. According to the boys they are the best pizzas EVER! And they were completely intrigued by the juke box which played some classic tracks as we ate. We even won the meat raffle so had a barbeque feast the next day! All in all a super friendly hidden gem. We are going back for the live music !

Spent a few Saturdays in spring watching the six nations on the big screen with family and friends. Good friendly atmosphere and great service behind the bar!

Have been to Old Harry's Bar a few times and always had a great time. Staff are friendly, drinks are good and very competitively priced, and the stone-baked pizzas are absolutely delicious. A home from home, relaxing experience - it's a must if you're visiting Studland anytime of the year.

Very much a local club bar but everyone and anyone is made very welcome. Pizzas are excellent and beer is always good.

Grabbed a load of pizzas for the family on the way back from the beach. Great local pub... was very quiet when we went but found the staff friendly. Had a beer while I waited... fantastic end to the day.

Old Harry Bar is essentially a social club and bar that does stone baked pizzas on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The staff are very friendly and the pizzas were delicious and great value. Looks like they occasionally have live music too.

We were just staying around the corner from Old Harry’s Bar which is located in Studlands Village Hall/social club. We ordered pizzas which were very nice and reasonably priced. Not a great selection of toppings but had enough of a selection for our party of 8. Will visit again when we next return to this beautiful part of Dorset.

Good beer, reduced as it was the tail end of a beer festival.... very welcoming and friendly staff.

You build an appetite in this place as the walks are fantastic. This place wont let you down. Great food, good range for everyone and excellent local ale.
