I have visited this establishment three times in the past year, when I come up to Plymouth from Cornwall, I would definitely recommend! The food is delicious and plated beautifully, you can tell the chef puts love and imagination into the food, the drinks are also lovely, staff are very pleasant and accommodating with a warm, friendly welcome! I especially loved the maple syrup and cinnamon butter that they make themselves! Will definitely return!

We went here on Saturday at 12 noon after reading the positive reviews. We had a good experience but I will start with the negatives. It almost feels as though we got there ten minutes too early, the staff didn't quite seem ready almost as if we had caught them on the hop. Strange. We were next informed that from a fairly small menu several things weren't available or limited or we would have to wait extra time for. There were no bau buns (several of us wanted those) , only one humous and strangely no sparkling water. And no katsu either. It genuinely felt as though they weren't quite ready. Bad stuff done let's move onto the good stuff. The staff warmed up! All much more friendly and relaxed but the real star is the food, everything was excellent, tasty and good portions (the suggestion that each person orders two plates and a side is crazy) I had the fabulous prawns and dirty fries, I was full. The fish plate was amazing, the mac and cheese with chorizo excellent and the salads surprisingly drizzled with truffle oil. Yep the food truly is the star and I intend to come back if only for those elusive bau buns!

I like this place and the idea. Lots of people have lots of things to say about sugar content but not my thing so I cannot comment. However, I was charged £7 for a ham salad roll (it was not on the menu). This is one of the simplest things you can order which costs less than most of the other options like fried bacon and eggs which are significantly more expensive ingredients and cooked sold in the same bread for significantly less. Just left a really bad feeling and I am not planning on going there soon again or I will read the incredibly complex menu more carefully. To put in to context, I would normally pay just over £3.50 for the same elsewhere.

Never been to the place, but Google nag me to leave a review regardless!

Just had sandwiches, they were nice, well presented. Came with chips. Staff were nice. The place always seemed busy, so they must be doing something right. Premises clean

Noticed this place today in old Buddha hut premises on Mutley Plain. Launched at noon as a Greek Meze restaurant and takeaway. Friendly with interesting menu. Will come back on an evening this week. I think opening is Wednesday until Sunday from noon until 9pm.

Lovely, family run, dog friendly cafe. Good food, reasonably priced with friendly staff and great coffee. Will definitely visit again.

Went here for my 20th Wedding Anniversary with my husbsnd. It's a lovely bijou restaurant tucked into the corner of the Market in Plymouth. We ordered our food and it arrived promptly and I have to say it was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be going again! Thank you!

Reasonable prices, friendly staff but even better - lovely view and right next to pretty gardens to chill out in.

As I stand here today as a final-year student at the University of Plymouth, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to a place that has been a cornerstone of my journey—The Library Café. From my very first year, this café has not only provided us with amazing food but has also created a welcoming environment that feels like home. The support from the staff has been invaluable, and I am truly thankful for the countless moments of encouragement and kindness I've experienced here.I’d especially like to thank Julie. Your unwavering support has made a profound impact on my years at university, and I appreciate everything you’ve done for us.To all the staff at The Library Café, thank you for your dedication and for nourishing both our bodies and our spirits. You have played an essential role in our university experience, and for that, we are all deeply grateful. Thank you!

Just fab! Ordered the cheesy chunky chips at the cafe and were super impressed!! The chips were delish an totally worth it. Absolutely great for the price and the fact they were gluten free and ceoliac friendly was a stand out for us. Staff were so helpful with sauces and gluten free options. We look forward to visiting again!

We liked Coffee Plus for grab and go stuff to wait with or take on the trains but it was removed about 2 1/2 years ago. But for a couple of months or so we’ve seen a much smaller mobile set up in the space several metres inside the turnstiles. Very basic but useful in its own way. Better by far is another sort of pop up coffee and bagel place outside at the west end of the car park run by Hutong. We have yet to be drawn into the new cafe in the north west corner of the concourse between Smiths and the ticket counters so can’t say whether it’s any good or not.
