Genuinely the best staff and the best food out there. Perfect place for anyone but especially students. Today I tried Tina’s Christmas special toastie and it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. Mind blown. I go so much I have a loyalty card so do recommend 😂

What a fantastic experience. The four of us had 4 different sandwiches and drinks and they were all perfect. I had the Christmas turkey toastie and it was absolutely the BEST sandwich I ever ate!!! Great staff, dog friendly and great environment!

Definitely the best bacon sandwich in town, in my opinion. Cooked to order, quality bacon, fabulous thick granary bread. Coffee is good too, and the staff are always cheerful and welcoming.

dawsteps has become a regular spot for myself and friend! the staff are so lovely and clearly care about the cafe, will always recommend!

Nice spot for lunch, nice atmosphere and staff were friendly. A little expensive but other than that, I had a lovely time.

I have been here a few times now and always leave feeling very happy. The food is excellent, really good quality and good portion sizes. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and I will definitely be visiting again soon!

We visit regularly for team breakfast meetings and recently held an end of term celebration for our student ambassadors. Great portions with imaginative sandwiches and friendly service. Always difficult to decide which cake to choose

We held a leaving event at Dawsteps and it was great. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We plan to book again in the future.

The customer service was absolutely fantastic. We had a 98 month old baby and they couldn’t help enough even to the point where Tina insisted on me using the office and facilities to change my granddaughter . The service was prompt under promised and over delivered. The food was fabulous and lived up to expectations. Great value for money and so great to support a small independent business.

I love Dawsteps, I've been a regular here since November 2023 (I'm here at LEAST three days a week), and have gotten to know the place really well. Tina is amazing, the service is fast, friendly and they try to remember your coffee order whenever they can! I've had their bacon sandwiches that are to die for, the thick cut bacon has made them a favourite with all my friends too. Their ham and cheese toastie is 100% a guilty pleasure and I get it at least once a week. The cake at Dawsteps is also next level, their brownies are the perfect mix of crispy on the outside and fudgy inside and I've never had a bad thing to say about any of their cakes. I have, and will continue, to recommend the place to anyone I meet.

Recently ordered for work from Dawsteps, lovely food, good price and fast delivery. Would definitely recommend and will be ordering from here again.

We visited on 1 December which was our first encounter with this superb venue! Both myself and my friend opted for the turkey toastie to celebrate the onset of Advent. 🎄 We were blown away with how tasty our choice was. 😋 The sandwich was packed full of roast turkey which was cooked on site, glazed carrots, stuffing, sausage, cranberry sauce…topped with a mini Yorkshire Pudding and a tea cup of gravy!! Amazing presentation and oh my…so delicious! Didn’t want it to end! 😋 The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We made it our mission to return again before Christmas as this sandwich 🥪 is a limited edition! We booked for Thu 21st Dec and enjoyed it very much second time around…followed by baileys home-made cake….yes…excuse the pun…the icing on the cake!!! That was our Christmas dinner!! The ambience and decor is spot on and staff so welcoming. You must visit…the menu is extensive…cakes so home-made. Treat yourself. You won’t be disappointed!! 😀

WOW. What a find. This cafe is simply fantastic. Visited for the first time after passing it many times over the last few weeks, often wondering what it was like. The food was simply delicious. The cafe is bright and airy. Ambience spot on. Comfortable and clean. The staff work wonders with a comprehensive menu of doorstep sandwiches, panini and cakes. My ‘breakfast doorstep’ - bacon, sausage, egg, mushroom & cheese was by far, the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. My partners Tuna melt was full of Tuna and cheese and looked and smelled wonderful. Coffee delicious too. I will be returning - often. Why anyone wastes their hard earned money and time visiting a Costa, with their expensive paltry offerings, with this beauty in town is beyond me. 10/10 Visit - you know you want to, you won’t be disappointed!!

I work at the Uni, a colleague recommended this place so for lunch me and my missus went over to try. There looks like a great choice of sandwiches and toasties and wide range of drinks (although i opted against having a beer - i am on my lunch break from work!). I went for the pulled pork toastie. A bit of a wait for it to be made but it wasn't too long and, frankly, i came at lunch time so it is the peak time of the day i guess. Anyway, it was defo worth the wait! Best lunch i've had for ages. I'll definitely be back (a lot of times!)

Sandwiches here are such good value for money, you will definitely leave full! They also offer gluten free, have free WiFi and plug sockets so perfect for studying too

My son and I visited here a few times this year and loved it! The friendliest happiest staff and the food was spot on! A really underrated place but it is one of our favourites now.

Amazing little place perfect for lunch on the go or to sit in. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! It’s easy to make a sandwich boring but the incredibly hospitable staff have nailed it with options and flavour! Carrot cake is also a must along with a good coffee. Thank you, can’t wait to be back 🙏👌

Spontaneous stop in to pick up a toastie for my partner but was met with fantastic customer service, beautiful ambiance and gorgeous looking food. Cakes and food are all made on site using locally made bread and I will definitely be using this as my go-to local cafe from now on. We rated the sandwich a 9.5/10- had a pulled pork toastie and it was unreal!

Amazing selection of sandwiches and cakes, lovely staff and a great relaxed atmosphere. Love catching up with my friend Jo here over lunch. The Christmas sandwich is a personal favourite of hers!

I’ve been here twice and both times were absolutely excellent!! The first time I had a prawn cocktail sandwich which was really nice and tasted very fresh. The second time I had the pulled pork toastie and oh my it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten!! The ingredients tasted so fresh and delicious and the flavours were beyond excellent!! The staff are also really lovely and make it such a welcoming environment. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! :))

The staff are so friendly and the coffee is always amazing! We visit regularly for coffee and sometimes sandwiches which are consistently fresh and just delicious! It is also a lovely space to sit and do some work as well as there is plenty of seating. 10/10 recommend, one of our favorite cafes in Plymouth!

Flawless, from the customer service to the sand which itself. A welcome addition to North Hill. Highly recommend the BBQ Pulled pork! One more thing to mention is the loyalty card which after a set number of sandwiches entitled you to a free sandwich.

Amazing service for our corporate training event where dawsteps provided us with breakfast and lunch. Not only delicious but they really looked after our dietary requirements and a last minute timing change for delivery. Thank you so much xxx

I just had a fantastic salad box from Dawstep - its fab that you can get any of the sandwich toppers as salads, so much variety. Plus great coffee - always a bonus. Big thumbs up for the amazing staff, so friendly! Will recommend to all :)

Amazing Cuban toastie ….. spotted the sign as a special and it was very special indeed! And the macchiato was spot on - I would highly recommend.

Roasted beetroot hummus came as a surprise but was tasty. This newish sandwich takeaway and cafe half way up North Hill has an unusual but tempting selection of fillings. Mostly takeaway but there is a biggish room where you can sit for coffee and all...
