The Bean in Plymouth

A great coffee shop in a fantastic location at The Barbican. Coffee, tea and pastries were very good with an excellent choice. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Worth a visit when in the vicinity.

The Chancel has been one of our favourite places to eat in Plymouth for many years. During Covid and a bit longer they’ve been delivering or preparing for collection. Without much thought or any foreknowledge we walked down this evening hoping it might up and running for their traditional bistro food and good wines. Very disappointed therefore to find it dark, empty and will a To Let sign. No hint that there might still be an online service. Pity and we’re sad. Many dozens of happy memories.

Had my 50th here. Fantastic food. Wonderful and cheerful service. Couldn’t rate this place higher. Thank you Team JOLLY Jacks. 💪👍

Have purchased from here several times - both the cake slices and celebration cakes. Most of the time the cakes are great - light and fluffy, but have been two occasions where the cake was too sweet and did not taste very fresh (seems more of an exception), but will still be purchasing nonetheless.

First time here today. Sadly forgot to take pics as we meet friends and were chatting. 2 had breakfasts, 1 had scrambled eggs on toast and 1 had mushrooms on toast. Big portions, lovely food and reasonably priced for the quality & quantity. Every table was taken and a couple groups came in and left (due to no tables)....always a good sign of decent food. Will definitely go another time and take pics !
