When Booking in to My Hotel. Mentioned I like Cask Conditioned Ales. Gypsy Moth. Was Suggested. Weather Not Good. Sheltered. Welcoming Pub. Nautical Theme. Very Atmospheric. Had Fine Cask Ale. Good Mix of Local & Visiting Tourists. Would Not Hesitate on Returning.

Nice looking place but £10.20 for a large glass of wine?? A hot chocolate served & handed to me in a teacup! Hot choc machine not working so was just brown water! Dinner menus on the table instead of lunch so had to change order! unfortunately is was an awful experience and cost a fortune

After being taken over by new management, this pub has quickly become a beloved destination for me. Its inviting, cosy atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to visit with family and friends. The establishment's affiliation with the Three Crowns is evident through the hardworking and passionate staff and owners. I extend my heartfelt wishes for their continued success.

Waitress was fantastic and kept us up to date with our order and delays. Pub itself is lovely and the drinks are good. Sunday roast was horrible. The meat looked like it was kebab meat. The carrots were cut so thinly they looked like vegetable crisps. Gravy was good. Will jot revisit for a Sunday dinner.

The road was rough so I was stumbling along , suddenly I stumbled upon this pub. As I stumbled inside and reached the smart interesting bar,I realised almost instantly it was a Hidden Gem! After perusing the glittering bar selection I selected a real ale which was good. Then decided to visit the toilet facilities, stumbling of course, well...those facilities were a hidden gem too! All this excitement made me stumble even more . The welcoming bar lady helped me choose this nice whisky based short, it was partially hidden behind a bottle , guess what. It was truly a hidden gem! So tasty . I enjoyed a pleasant hour here then stumbled home

Stayed a few times in the hotel next door . And it being the same brand as I stayed the weekend I was resistant to having the hotel food tired or tried again. So I went on the masterly journey of walking next door to the slightly intriguingly named “the Gypsy Moth” . Met with the most lovely “how are you my lovely” ( I’m a sucker for barmaids) where a very delightful barmaid taught her new protege. I went for steak and have to say it was a smashing success with a glass of the red . Recommend highly. Did get one more my loverly on paying the bill so all in all left happy.

We were a last minute group of 12 (10 adults and 2 children) and we reserved a table the day before. Was all set up and staff were warm and welcoming! We are a super meal with us all being fussy with different meats and sides! Totally well catered for! When the bill came we were so happy with the great price for honestly high end food!

Been here many times over the years and since Donna and her team have taken over and renamed it back to the Gipsy Moth they have given this great location of a pub a new lease of life with lovely decor in addition. Had food a couple of times which is very nice and and amazing selection of beers on offer which ensures it’s a regular meeting place for my friends and I on a Saturday lunchtime. Well worth a visit.

After an extended closure the pub has recently reopened with new management who have done some interior refitting and most significantly changed the name back to ‘Gipsy Moth’ which it had several decades ago. The GM has its own new listing on TripAdvisor.
