Noticed this place today in old Buddha hut premises on Mutley Plain. Launched at noon as a Greek Meze restaurant and takeaway. Friendly with interesting menu. Will come back on an evening this week. I think opening is Wednesday until Sunday from noon until 9pm.

We used this place regularly as the northernmost cafe on Mutley Plain but at about the end of May it was less predictably open. In early June we came and saw that although the menu and outside signage was still in place the interior had been largely cleared. We have not found it open since.

This is the second visit I’ve made to the Buddha Hut in two weeks. It’s easily my favourite Cafe now. Super friendly staff, good food that feels healthy to eat, caters for alternative dietary preferences, welcomes well behaved dogs, has free Wi-Fi and student deals. What’s not to like. They do pancake stacks as well!!!! Making it a great place to take my tribe. Thanks Buddha hut for the second time

After getting rained off of work I decided to check out what the buzz for these pancakes was all about, upon entering I was greeted with a smiling face and me and my fenchie were made to feel very welcome, i decided to go for the breakfast and was definitely pleased with the outcome, I will be going back for another gorgeous coffee and to try the pancakes as they did look spectacular

This is a good new coffee shop on Mutley Plain. Friendly staff and enticing menu. We checked their Christmas opening on their FB page and came down with friends only to find on two dates that it was locked, in darkness and with no indication or explanation on the door/windows/website to notify the closure or when they might reopen. Driving by on the other state it has still looked closed. It will be a great pity if this new project has stumbled or lost heart and impetus after such a short time.

Had the delight of popping in to the new edition on Mutely Plain, greeted with big smiles and a friendly hello, I ordered myself a CBD Latte which was professionally prepared and presented in there branded takeaway cup. Hopefully next time I can sit in there delightful cafe and try some of there scrumptious sounding Buddha Bowls!!

Despite its unprepossessing front, Buddha Hut is a little hidden delight of cool relaxation combined with the kind and friendly team who eagerly await to serve you and bring joy to your day: whatever your age, stage, outlook or philosophy of life. Full of warm brick work, wooden parquet flooring and a mini exotic garden collection on the window sill, and eclectic soulful gentle jazz, if you can ignore the grey cloud and chill rain, you could be in Thailand... I was feeling frazzled so I ordered a CBT mint tea and became calm and composed after only a few moments in this funky, chilled retreat of a cafe bar. I stayed a good while and felt like a welcome guest. I will definitely be returning soon!

This CBD cafe and shop is expanding and is moving from lower Cornwall Street to Mutley Plain, currently planing to reopen there on Bonfire Night. It’s the old In Other Words radical bookshop site next to the Swarthmoor and until recently used by the Vault cocktail bar. Mutley Plain continues to attract lively businesses.

It's well-lit inside with seating both indoors and outside. The staff are great and friendly, and I also noticed that they cleaned up tables promptly and efficiently after people finished. They had made an extra tea which in the end wasn't going to be served, so they offered it to me on the house! I even tried to pay them for it as a tip, but they didn't back down lol. That's the first time I've had an interaction with any business where we were trying to pay each other! Brilliant. I'm so bad with names so I'm sorry that I've forgotten the names of the two gentlemen that served the group I was there with, but they're brothers so hopefully that distinguishes them enough so they get praise for being absolute legends. As someone who struggles with poor mental health, it's not often that I go anywhere and think, "I want to come back soon." I will be coming back to Buddha Hut without a doubt, when and as often as my head permits it. I'm not going to spend the next hour filling out the rest of this review's check boxes and stuff, but that's not Buddha Hut's fault since this is TripAdvisor and the business world has gone totally mad with wanting validation for everything they do lol. In short: Buddha Hut = YES!

Buddha Hut is Plymouth and the southwest UK's first CBD cafe and dispensary. The coffee is excellent and full of flavour, and the CBD -infused versions are well worth trying. Buddha Hut is part of The Project which includes a barber and tattoo shop. This lends it an already distinctive feel compared to other cafes in Plymouth, but what sets it apart is the staff and the community vibe you get here. Other cafes just don't have what Buddha Hut has, and I hope it continues to brighten up Cornwall Street.

Now moved from Union Street to permanent premises at 120 Cornwall Street PL1 1NF. Convenient site, on street parking. Friendly staff now with increased emphasis on CBD as well as the cafe.

Parking is tricky out the front but this ground floor double building is jam packed with small new creative businesses and small catering units offering a wide selection of services. Buddha Hut is at the very back and shares with two or three other food van/counters. It’s run by a couple of friendly people who were very helpful and also explained that it’s a stepping stone to somewhere more versatile and independent. It sounds as though for them their present space and this listing are a temporary. My mug of hot chocolate was OK and it’s an airy pleasant place to sit. Don’t know if they allow dogs.

Interesting that there’s been a lot of interest since The Vault closed and the lease was up for grabs. A lively CBD cafe business called ‘Buddha Hut’, which started a year or so ago in Union Street then moved to lower Cornwall Street has now announced they are expanding again and have acquired the Mutley lease and will open at the beginning of November with a cafe selling lots of CBD coffee and food etc on the ground floor with the large basement given over to other CBD products.

Three of us came in for informal supper. Booked but not necessary, maybe half full. Deal of £25 for two portions of fish and ships, geared towards couples but we have to pay about £17 for a third. The girls serving seemed to be getting edgy towards the end maybe because there seemed to be a group of their friends towards end of evening.

Have purchased from here several times - both the cake slices and celebration cakes. Most of the time the cakes are great - light and fluffy, but have been two occasions where the cake was too sweet and did not taste very fresh (seems more of an exception), but will still be purchasing nonetheless.

The Chancel has been one of our favourite places to eat in Plymouth for many years. During Covid and a bit longer they’ve been delivering or preparing for collection. Without much thought or any foreknowledge we walked down this evening hoping it might up and running for their traditional bistro food and good wines. Very disappointed therefore to find it dark, empty and will a To Let sign. No hint that there might still be an online service. Pity and we’re sad. Many dozens of happy memories.
