What a fabulous cafe in Plymstock Library. The service is excellent, they bring your drinks and food to the table. The staff are incredible, so so polite and friendly, I honestly can't recommend it highly enough. They only take cash and I'm so happy with that as cash is incredibly important.

I went up to the counter and ordered two coffees and two slices of cake. Only to be told it was cash only by a grumpy male who was serving. Then I noticed a sign that read "cash only due to poor reception " I had no money this is 2023 so my friend who had some cash just managed to get two coffees. The waitress was very pleasant and the coffee was good. We both got out our phones and the telephone reception was excellent as was our internet connection. Why put a notice up that is not true

! Muy recomendable.

This is definitely the best coffee shop on the Broadway, also the best place to come and socialise. I had a delicious quiche salad with plenty of salad extra's, all very tasty. The quiche was an individual one not a slice of a large one, really good. Have also had other things with coffee. Staff very efficient and helpful. Plenty to keep you busy in the library, scrabble and puzzles to do and lots going on for the children. The have outdoor seating too. Well worth a visit.

We were in Plymstock and after a spot of Retail Therapy Coffee was required. We had read that Coffee Time was the place to experience Coffee & Homemade Cakes and so we gave it a go. How right the recommend was. We were served by a friendly waitress and had a Scone & Slice of Cappuccino Cake with Coffees of Flat White & Latte. Very nice and fresh and reasonably priced.

This used to be a nice place to go but the last time I went they ripped us off by charging a whopping whole extra pound for a meager tea bag! They seem to put only one bag in a tea pot which is way oversized for one person. Put 2 in, if its a big pot. Its not like it will break the bank as you tend to shop in Lidl anyway which is only just across the road as i've seen you walking across the road! Other than that its still a nice place to meet.

If you want to eat fresh food and drink fresh coffee, you'd come to the Plymstock library café. The staff are friendly and engaging, the food is always great and since I am a fitness instructor and need to eat between classes, I come here for my healthy scrambled eggs and salmon fix or my fave, kipper salad ( heaven) rather than dashing home all the time. I also think it is very important to support our local cafes rather than the hugely commercial soul-less Costas and Starbucks with their awful wax coated cups we see thrown in every hedge and dual carriageway. Drink and eat local...EVERYTIME for me.

At last the centre of Plymstock has got some modern quality coffee and cake in the form of a franchise of the biggest British chain just opened in the adjacent small shopping precinct. But Coffee Time inside Plymstock library has run successfully for a long time with a more personal homely approach leading to a large loyal following of mostly young mothers and pensioners. From walking back around the shops on the way to the car park the new place is very busy. Coffee Time will need to tweak its service to stay ahead.

Firstly if you drive you have to park some distance away in the Broadway shoppers car park, or break the rules and park in the own customers only Lidl car park just opposite the library. The entrance is at the sharp right end of the fairly recent library building. Just inside you encounter a full wall stained glass creation depicting a book tied to some images from Plymstock history. A few steps further in and to your right is the open cafe looking across over the medium sized suburban library spaced. Blends and meshes well. Doesn't feel odd at all. Hot and cold meals, plenty of cake ic gluten free. The tables are a bit squeezed in but not oppressive. Friendly, perhaps a bit driven and speedy Cade staff. Tea and cake just under £4. Enjoyable pit stop.

Good value for money. The cakes are fantastic, especially the lemon cake. The staff are very friendly and service is good. The cafe seems a popular spot and there are often more people using the cafe than the library! My wife and I regularly visit this cafe when we meet our daughter who lives nearby. I is situated in the midst of Plymstock Library near to the local shopping centre at the Broadway. They have a varied lunchtime menu, along with extensive choices of hot drinks. Plenty of friendly staff are on hand we are always served really quickly. The food is really tasty and is perfect if you are just popping out from work for your lunch break. Friendly staff, nice choice of beverages and snacks and quick service at a good price. Overall a nice café. I visited this café/library properly for the first time today and as my title suggests, it was very hard to leave! I only had a mocha as I had already eaten but after seeing what other people had, I will be back! The friendly faces of the staff were much appreciated, as after doing a little bit of shopping first unfortunately everywhere I went today people seemed to be most miserable - must be the weather! Anyway, back to the review! The coffee was very tasty and went down a treat. I had a good read of my book at the same time and was very happy and content. There is something nice about enjoying a coffee whilst being surrounded by books! The value for all food and drinks appears to be very good. Incidentally, the library staff are incredibly helpful and kind. I keep meaning to sign up to this library as it is my local, and I am so glad I did today.

I've been frequenting the Library Cafe for a number of years now and thought that it was about time that I lavished a little praise on this establishment. I'm pretty sure that more people come to the Cafe than to the Plymstock Library that it's situated in - it's always fairly crowded and at lunchtimes you may well have to wait a while for a seat. The food is always great and the cakes are simply superb, plus the coffee is pretty damn fine as well. All the food looks to have been home-cooked - nothing mass-produced about this place- and the service is always friendly. To make things even better, the value-for-money simply cannot be beaten.

All medium to large libraries should have a decent cafe and it should not be limited to library users alone. This one in deepest Plymstock fulfils the purpose very well, especially for older people. It deserves to have some interior photographs on this listing. I think it does its job much better than the cafe at the Central Library and Museum, it is less stylish than the one called Routes at St Aubyn library but a much better hub and social centre.

I have a confession to make, this is the second Friday in a row I have found an excuse to meet someone at The Library Cafe in Plymstock and have indulged in the bestest tasting ever carrot cake...it is scrummy!!! Half fat and half sugar I believe...ok I wish!!! Today I had arranged to meet someone for lunch there and having been looking forward to it since Wednesday and almost tripping over myself to get there and enjoy it, I was gutted to arrive and discover my lunch date was content with her 'best scone ever'. What's a girl to do???? Well still eat lunch of course! Observing someone else's lunch that looked interesting I asked for 'one of those' and discovered it was falafel....it was delicious! Having only ever had mass produced falafel I wasn't sure what to expect but the whole dish was lush, down to every last seed on my fresh and definitely 'not for rabbits' salad! Staff were also friendly and welcoming...superb service! I think everyone should get a kindle then they could get rid of the books and get more tables in...just kidding Library!!! It's been a while since I visited Plymstocks coffee scene, the choice is warrens, rowers or cafe library....having tried all 3 I have to say that cafe library stands out above the other two. It's just so much more welcoming and actually serves real coffee ;) however I do have to say that recently I found a new watering hole in Plymstock known as Blitz Cafe- its just up on dean cross rd behind plymstock fish and chip shop. like the name suggests its a coffee shop which has themed itself around world war 2 and the 1940's era....it is absolutely charming and the decor is unlike anything I have ever seen down here in the southwest region. In London there are a few coffee haunts similar to this and I think it's hard for anything to come close to blitz cafe. The coffee was that excellent that I no longer like to spend my money in costa or Nero ..it just tastes sub standard now. So I will be returning to Plymstock to visit cafe library and blitz cafe.

This is the best thing to happen to the Broadway in a very long time. The only not so good thing is I wish it could be bigger! It is however always worth the wait. A variety of seating from bistro tables and chairs to comfy sofas. The walls are covered in nostalgic memorabilia such as various sheet music and posters from times gone by. The coffee and walnut cake is to die for! All of there food is well presented, fresh and home made.
