Travelled from Hereford to come and support this beautiful plant based cafe! Such a great menu which was amazing value for money! We just couldn’t resist taking some cakes home with us to enjoy in the evening with a cuppa! 100% worth the 154mile round trip 💚

Not a review, just a note on the places history. Up until late 1985 the place was known as The Cavendish Hotel, so the "new" name is actually a return, sort of, to its original. It became a Whitbread owned and managed pub. Managers Henry and Sue Thurmann pursuaded Whitbread to put some money into the place. In late 1985 or early 86, the old lounge and public bars were knocked into one and the place was generally modernized. It became a very successful pub, renamed "The Corner House", into the 90s when Whitbread sold off all their pubs. Dull disclosure: I worked as a seasonal barman there from 1985 to 1989.

Not a good menu. But good food.

The breakfast was really good and good value for money . What the big shame of the place was the blue haze from the cooking and the smell. Although the extractors were on , I don’t know where it was extractor the cooking smell as I had to come home and wash my clothes and shower - it was that bad! It has put us off revisiting. We were on a day off , but if we were working we couldn’t go back to work . Other than that friendly people and chilled atmosphere.

We are having Chris Chu funeral wake at the cafe on Wednesday 11th September 10.30am. This was Chris's favorite place for many years before his passing on 19.08.2024.

Was a good place until last night I went in for a pint only for the barmaid to come up to me and told me I was banned she was very rude in the way she spoke to me when I told her that I haven't been in for a few weeks and I know her daughter as we are both on a mental health course together she said sorry I got you mixed up with someone else I've got learning difficulties and I felt the way that she spoke to me was very intimidating I've been going in there for a long time now with no problems until now I won't be going in again as I didn't like the way I was treated

Stopped by today for lunch Food was excellent with plenty of choice & great customer service. Would definetly recommend.

A modern breakfast menu . Food was freshly cooked and presented. Very relaxed atmosphere. WE were able to park our car outside, which was a bonus.

We have become regular visitors to the Green House simply because it’s so good. The staff are terrific they are friendly and welcoming and take time to say hello. The food and beverages are well priced and excellently cooked and well presented. Despite what others may have found I can categorically say it is dog friendly. It’s just simply a very very nice place to eat and relax

Lovely place, clean and welcoming. We had two regular breakfasts which were delicious, especially the home made rosti - I'll be asking for extra ones of those next time we eat here. The food was good quality and very tasty, the service was swift and polite and the price was very reasonable. No complaints at all.

Absolutely fantastic service. Staff were excellent, polite, friendly and professional. Had a toasted tea cake and a latte. Prompt and efficient. Tea cake is massive which is why I go to Coffee#1 Popped back in today 31st October 2024. Staff again were friendly, efficient and helpful. Coffee and cake were excellent 👌🏻

After all has been a positive experience here, not much to say, polite staff and tasty food, family running business with genuine kindness.

Great pub with a good selection of beers ,wines and cocktails. Fantastic home cooked food and wonderful friendly staff. They also do nice coffee and wonderful looking cakes too !!

Not overly large place so booking is advisable. Having said that, 4 of us turned up without a reservation having had some difficulty in booking a table ? However, the lovely guy at the desk shuffled things around and got us a table. What a great experience ! Chicken, beef, lamb dishes were amazing! Rice, noodles, potatoes, salad, pasta, fish, calamari, chocolate cake, chocolate fountain, gatuea, whippy ice-cream, array of fresh fruit etc etc ... So many choices! We were VERY impressed and have already booked a return visit ! Staff are helpful and polite and kept very busy ! We thought it was good value for money. £13 for children. £20 for adults ...evening price . I think a little cheaper on a lunch time ? All in all a very good experience.
