Not a review, just a note on the places history. Up until late 1985 the place was known as The Cavendish Hotel, so the "new" name is actually a return, sort of, to its original. It became a Whitbread owned and managed pub. Managers Henry and Sue Thurmann pursuaded Whitbread to put some money into the place. In late 1985 or early 86, the old lounge and public bars were knocked into one and the place was generally modernized. It became a very successful pub, renamed "The Corner House", into the 90s when Whitbread sold off all their pubs. Dull disclosure: I worked as a seasonal barman there from 1985 to 1989.

5 stars!! 100% service and food we really enjoyed the food and the Prosecco was great. Great place well recommended and really enjoyed it Rachel and hennie were great we will be back

1 The SquareAmazing proper pub. The pizzas are better than any of the big chains and a lot cheaper! Local ciders and a good range of other drinks. Staff are always friendly and welcoming.Beer garden, Pool table and board games. Overall a great family pub.

22B Old Church RoadPopped in here for breakfast whilst visiting the area and honestly don't have a single negative thing to say. Great value for money, really yummy (great fried bread) and friendly staff.
