Great pub with a good selection of beers ,wines and cocktails. Fantastic home cooked food and wonderful friendly staff. They also do nice coffee and wonderful looking cakes too !!

We love The Duke and would happily eat here every week! It was exceptionally busy yesterday when we had a table booked at 2.30 for a roast. There was a loft of confusion with various orders going awry and at times service was a tad chaotic. When the food did eventually arrive our roast beef and turkey was bloody gorgeous, worth the wait. There was an error with the bill & we were undercharged, but we did query it and it was settled correctly. A lovely cosy pub, excellent staff and the food was superb.

Stylish pub/restaurant at the southern end of the High Street offering good portions of quality food. Meals cooled quickly but a requested jug of gravy helped.

Great pub not far from the seafront. Dog friendly which is always a bonus.

Huge Sunday roast, very tasty. I couldn’t finish it! I made the mistake of ordering desert (two course deal) whithout releasing how much food there would be. When the waitress cleared the table I explained I wouldn’t be be able to have the sticky toffee pudding which she said was fine. Unfortunately though a few minutes later when I went to pay they said it was already being prepared in the kitchen, so I had to pay. There was no way I could eat it so just paid and left but spoiled what was otherwise a lovely meal. Lesson for myself, never order desert at the same time as the main!!

Friendly and helpful staff. Bar decorated in lovely style. Good selection of drinks. We didn't eat there but the menu looked varied and reasonably priced. Cakes looked very tempting!

Amongst the cozier, classier places in town. Good food, even for a vegetarian, and well-presented.

We had dinner for 4 (and a burger for dog). We was very happy that dogs are welcomed here as most places refuse this., so thumbs up for this. However, to charge around £150 for 4 basic dinners with no starters or desserts, and 4 drinks (2 of which were soft drinks), shows this place charges way too much. Admittedly the food was good, but still not worth around £150! Due to the ridiculously high prices we will not be returning! Here's a hint, charge less and get repeat custom which means you'll actually make more money. Your prices are stupidly greedy and result in customers not returning. Until prices are halved I reccoomend going elsewhere :-)

Good food, atmosphere, great pint, best choice.

Decided to visit for dinner and a few drinks on a Tuesday evening in August. Was very quiet as it was a week day. I ordered the lasagna which came with salad and my wife had ham, egg and chips. After a short wait, our food arrived which looked very nice. After eating about four forks full of my lasagna I noticed that it was stone cold in the middle. I immediately took it up to the bar to inform the staff and they took it from me, apologised and said they would get it sorted. A few minutes later a member of staff came over to me, apologised again and said the chef is re heating my food now. When it came back it looked like it had been scraped off my plate, microwaved and then plonked back on my plate with the half eaten salad. Not what I would expect from a any food establishment. Don’t think I’ll be back in a hurry.

Fantastic place we had tea / coffee & cake and it was Delicious and very good value for 4 pounds each. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in weston supermare.

Nice pub, good atmosphere. Food used to be very good, but quality has fallen off a cliff and prices have gone up.

Great food, I had the steak sandwich with chips. Really good. The steak, the gammon and the chicken burger also got the thumbs up from the family. Fabulous beer.

Great selection of bar snacks and beers

The food was tasteless. We have been told the kids meals are usually done in 5-10 mins then we got it after 25mins. Asked a mango cider and it was kinda warm. Our seats was dirty. The place is nice and dog friendly that’s good.

Food was very average, nice staff but a bit cold & not very cozy. Wouldn't go again.

We only had a drink but a very cosy pub. Second visit we had food unfortunately the lasagne was burnt and dry and the salad did not look appealing.

Nice pub in Weston. Small but good range of drinks available. Something for everyone whether you like real ales, craft beer, generic lagers or cocktails. Had the Sunday roast while there. This was very nice. Live pianist played throughout our visit which was nice. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Good experience all round

Went for a meal here tonight. The prawn cocktail was lovely, I went for the teriyaki steak salad bowl which was lovely. Beautiful tender bits of steak in it, very light dish highly there was one issue with someone in our party not liking what they tasted but that was quickly and proficiently sorted. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Late ish drink on a Thursday. Good beers, bit quiet but England were playing. Couple of pianists gave credible renditions of popular music. Nice.

The atmosphere is calm and friendly. The stuff are delightful so caring and attentive. And food is out standing. I loved the sauteed aubergine with my veggie roast today. And the cauliflower cheese was magnificent . In my opinion you couldn't have made it better at home . Thank you Duke of Oxford

Although we didn't have food this time the menu looks really good. Enjoyed a few beers and next time we're in Weston will definitely try the food.

Really enjoyed the fish and chips and they make an excellent coffee. Relaxed atmosphere and pleasant surroundings.

Busy but still able to get a table and order food. The waiter even took another order for drinks and brought them over. What service !

DISASTER - what a disappointment! We had Sunday lunch for 5 people. 4 out of 5 roast dinners arrived - barely lukewarm (though the staff did offer to warm them up) and roast potatoes had that leathery skin so obviously reheated several times. The 5th meal arrived eventually as the rest of us were nearing the end. No root veg - except for one person who was lucky enough to have a parsnip. Virtually zero green veg. So much needs to be improved, and we begrudged paying good money for such poor food - when you know you can get much better elsewhere. Avoid at all costs!

Lovely atmosphere, great food and drink, incredible service. We ordered the blackcurrant and earl grey cake and the carrot cake; both were incredible. £4 for a coffee and a cake is a real bargain. Was very quiet at around 11am, which was great as we were looking for a quiet cafe to study and write.

Great meal. Great service. Probably not cheapest in Weston but all the food was excellent and the service was first class. Highly reccomend the Sunday roast and Chicken burger. Kids really enjoyed their meals as well. Everything fresh and on point. Nice cosy pub right in the centre of town.

Had a fantastic time at Duke of Oxford Cafe in Western Super Mare. Great service, cozy ambiance, and the Americano coffee was spot on. Highly recommend it for a satisfying coffee experience.

Dreadful. The beef was rare, tough and chewy. Walk on by much better Sunday lunches available in town . First and last time we will go in there and eat.

Where do I start? Rock hard roast potatoes undercooked beef,overcooked vegetables not the best experience I wouldn't go back!

Found this pub on a walk around Weston, quirky and eclectic interior, friendly staff, good selection of beers too. Food was excellent especially the triple cooked chips. As a wheelchair user it was good to have a level access entrance and plenty of accessible seating. Although I didnt use them I asked about a disabled loo and the lady behind the bar said there was one in the gents and ladies

We found this pub for Sunday lunch. We had exellent friendly service and great roast dinner. Excellent value for money. The kids roast was nearly as big as the adults and they didn’t skimp on desserts. Will certainly return.

Oh Dear thought we'd pop into the Duke at about 2.30 to have a drink instead of our usual watering hole, and were disappointed no one behind the bar to serve drinks when someone came out we asked for one of the 3 beers on offer we were then told that they didn't know which one of the 3 was on, why didn't they turn the beer pump badge round so that the customers knew that only 1 pump was on? It was a brown mild not to our liking so decided to go to our usual place which had at least 2 traditional brown bitters and 3 other reals on. Staff were not interested if we stayed or went. We went

Visited Weston-super-Mare for the weekend and stumbled across this pub. The food was delicious and good-sized portions to. It's always nice to find beaver town gamma ray on draft as well. Service was polite, welcoming, and friendly.

Only went for a drink. Love the atmosphere and rustic decor.

Lovely atmosphere. Very attentive and friendly staff, super service and after care helpful. Lovely food, we have ate here at both lunchtime and in the evening. We'll cooked, presented nicely, fresh tasty and filling. I would highly recommend the mixed grill deal 2 for £25. Dog friendly with drinks and treats available for your canine kids. We would always recommend a visit to the Duke of Oxford.

How to start this review? Valentines Day and we walked into town fancied lunch out, hubby just wanted to have a sandwich and was happy with Costa!! I wanted something a little bit different so plumbed for this pub opposite Costa. All started well we ordered 2 toasted sandwiches and a portion of chips to share and a drink each. Then we waited and waited 1/2 later hubby went to ask were our food was to be told 3mins it was just been finished off. Then 10mins later a young girl came rushing in with loafs of bread, I said jokingly to hubby that’s our bread just going into the kitchen!! Then I then went back to the bar and asked how long our sandwiches etc would be to be told it was actually our bread!! as they’d run out of bread!!! And they’d be with us ASAP. Well needless to say we bought another drink and waited, eventually the food came and in all fairness looked good nicely presented. Sadly the chips were cold and as I was going back to the bar to mention it my husband turned over his sandwich to find it was BLACK not just a little burnt, but actually black!!! This was the straw that broke the camels back in afraid and I asked for a refund which was given, but having spent a hour or more here and not eaten anything we headed over to Costa and had a sandwich 🙄.

Firstly, we love this pub. Always has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and decent drinks. We decide to eat here for the first time for a pre cinema meal. We paid just shy of £30 for 2 burgers for which we had to pay £3.50 extra for chips. The burgers were Luke warm and lacked any real taste This was fed back to the young waiter. Just so fed up of getting ripped off especially for poor food. It will be just a drink next time I’m afraid.

Good service & nice interaction from very competent staff and it was even the waitress first shift. Went midweek for a nice relaxed meal with a friend and was able to hear each other talk.

Our first Sunday Roast since arriving back in the U.K. Very much Anticipated but more Disappointed. We have been using the Duke as one of our locals since moving to the town a few years ago. However our expectations this time around have been very much let down on this visit. We ordered 2 Sunday Roasts today, 1 Turkey and 1 Beef and a nice bottle of wine. The first let down was that the bottle came to the table uncorked which is a no no in anybody’s book. Not professional. My husbands starter of Prawn Cocktail arrived. Plenty of Prawns but the sauce was of a clear liquid consistency, certainly not of Marie Rose sauce appearance. The 2 mains appeared on a plate piled high so you could not see the sides that were underneath, which to us, as we eat with our eyes, was not very appealing. Indeed I took a lot off of my plate to place on the side plate of cauliflower cheese just so I could get through it. My husbands beef was mainly fat which he carved away and I left most of my vegetables due to being overdone. When it came to paying the bill the waitress asked if everything was ok with the food as she could see my husband had left half of his and my roast potatoes were on the side plate. Before I had chance to answer she asked if the left over roasties were hard so obviously this is a reoccurring problem. On top of that the advertised £6.95 Prawn Cocktail became £8.95! Just wanting to get out of there we left without argument but will def not visit again for a Sunday Roast.

We only had drinks on a Sunday but ambiance was very Christmassy, staff nice and friendly and they also had a quiz night. I like the Duke of Oxford and will come back to try the food!

It was a rainy evening and quiet. 4 of us ate and had mixed reviews. My friends had the coconut curry and said it was ok. They said it was missing something in taste and the portion size wasn’t great for the cost. My other friend had a steak which she said was better than miller & Carter. I had the pasta and ragu. Again it was ok but missing something in the flavour.

Great day celebrating my 65th birthday at the Duke of Oxford. We returned in the evening to watch a great live band. The staff are very friendly and give this pub a great atmosphere.

Located on Oxford St. just off the High Street T-Junction, opposite Nando's and the Friends Meeting House. A stunning independent public house in Weston with a splendid interior that looks as if it has been designed by someone with a keen eye for detail. There are eye catching curiosities and artifacts everywhere. I'll be back. The warmth of this space was matched by the service provided.
