Quirky wee pub with the ceiling covered in steins and jugs. Very friendly atmosphere! Lively dog on the premises as well 😊

An excellent and friendly pub. Don't judge a book by its cover. Friendly staff and locals. This pub is superb, so are the pickled eggs.

Nice views, shame about the garden… The George & Dragon’s recent revamp delivers mixed results. Indoors, little has apparently changed, beyond a basic repaint and a few tweaks. Outside, clearing the trees has opened up beautiful views of Swallowfield, and the enlarged (if awkward) car park is a plus. The front landscaping looks nice but narrows the entrance for larger vehicles. Sadly, where greenery once complemented the countryside, the rear garden is now a bleak gravel area, lacking in character, with two unsightly gas tanks somewhat spoiling the view. Still, the pub retains its charm, offering excellent beers, good food, and some of the best views around.

Disappointing and lack lustre charcuterie board today. First of all, not served on a board but an oblong plate which, if it had been displayed differently may have worked. The pickles consisted of a small gherkin sliced thinly then cut into quarters and sprinkled over the meat. Small quantity of very small shavings of parmesan also sprinkled over meat with some olives and then very limp rocket over everything. The peppers promised weren't not included and the toasted focaccia would definitely have benefited from a drizzle of oil or balsamic. The side of fries were very overdone and crunchy. Come on The Warren, a charcuterie board is not hard to do. For starters, put on a real board or platters and arrange. Put the pickles (and a reasonable quantity of them) in a small bowl, same with olives and the missing peppers. Given decent parmesan shavings and leave off the rocket when limp and perhaps put some fresh greenery on the side. One of the easiest dishes and this was not up to par. I did speak to the waitress who picked up our plates and gave feedback rather than 'complain' as it's obviously not her fault and she was very pleasant. She did say she would feed back to the kitchens but probably very little they could do as they had to follow instructions. On a positive note, the staff were encountered were lovely.

Beautiful location, great coffee and an array of homemade cakes. The carrot cake was one of the best I've ever tasted. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Dairy alternative milks available vegan cakes too. The cafe sits right next to the lake where you can sit and watch the variety of bird life and the numerous dragonflies flying around this aptly named cafe. Take a walk around the lakes too such a peaceful area the car park isn't huge but seemed to accommodate visitors well enough. If you're a cyclist a friendly and warm welcome awaits with room to leave bikes safely and enjoy a well deserved coffee. Highly recommend this little oasis.

Lovely café. It is always quite busy. It seems to be popular with families. The service is not always consistent though because it all depends who serves you! Nothing awful but not overly friendly and welcoming I would say. I love Costa’s bacon 🥓 bap-the best!

Very disappointing after previous good experiences. We had a table booked for 3pm, they had clearly overbooked and let walk-ins eat. No table available for about 40 minutes then another 50 minute wait for 4 roasts which were luke warm with overcooked potatoes, minimal veg and the flattest yorkshire pudding I've ever seen, even the waiter admitted he wouldn't eat it. No apologies for the wait, no drinks offered, clearly understaffed and not coping with demand. Won't rush back.
