We visited as a large family with a toddler when the football was on. Sat in the sheltered “Glastonbury” area and the staff were very obliging at bringing out our food to us in the pouring rain with a smile. All meals were generous and offered good value - but the Sirloin steak, medium rare, was exceptional - best I’ve had anywhere for a long time. The footie was on which satisfied half our party, but others seemed to be avoiding it happily in doors. A thoroughly enjoyable visit. Thanks

My partner and I, both in our 50s, visited The White Horse for lunch on Saturday, April 6th, 2024. The ambiance of the garden was delightful, thoughtfully laid out for events and live music, with cozy covered booth areas for inclement weather. However, our dining experience was marred by disappointing food offerings. Despite arriving at 1:00 pm on a Saturday, both our first and second choices were unavailable, leaving us to reluctantly settle on a third option. Unfortunately, the dish we received was underwhelming in both quantity and quality, further exacerbated by an unexpected charge for cheese on my hamburger.Throughout the meal, it became apparent that corners were being cut, evident in the use of single-use glass jars for ketchup, which, upon closer inspection, turned out to be a diluted mixture of vinegar and sauce, a cost-saving measure that sacrificed taste and quality.Despite providing feedback to two different staff members regarding the disappointing aspects of our meal, the response was disheartening. The first staff member acknowledged the issue with the ketchup but chose to ignore it, while the second seemed irritated by our feedback, dismissing it as if it were unwarranted.While I understand the challenges faced by pubs in today's economic climate, I would have been willing to pay more for a better dining experience. Unfortunately, the combination of indifferent staff responses and a penny-pinching approach to food quality has dissuaded me from returning to The White Horse. It's a shame, as with a more customer-centric approach and a focus on quality over cost-cutting, this establishment could have been a standout in the area.

Four of us dropped in for a roast on Easter Sunday. We had two lamb shanks and two roast beef lunches. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. You can see why this venue is so popular. The portion sizes were huge. Mrs L couldn’t finish her’s and I was stuffed. Well done guys!

This was my first visit to this pub. I have complex dietary needs. The server suggested a meal that was on the dinner menu and went off to enquire whether the landlord/chef (Clive) could make it for lunch. He kindly agreed and I am so glad he did. It was delicious. Vegetarian GF curry - would highly recommend. The pub had a nice feel to it, warm with soft grey walls. As Arnie said - I’ll be back!

Just came in for some quick lunch, Tom was very nice and served me with no issues and even helped me decide on some food. Very nice place will be sure to return

The White Horse never fails to put on a good event and the Caribbean night did not disappoint. The ticket was very well priced which included a free drink (how generous)!!! Loved that there was a range of nibbles to purchase. The steel band was the icing on the cake and were great! As a regular customer, I couldn’t recommend this pub enough. They put so much care in providing an amazing service to their customers and have always gone above and beyond when hosting events. Overall, the whole afternoon was brilliant and fairly priced which included the cost of the ticket, food and drinks. Can’t wait for the next one!!! Thanks The White Horse

I usually enjoy lunch at this pub so tried their Caribbean event. The way it was advertised gave the impression that there was a taste of food in the price of the ticket. There wasn’t there was food to buy. I didn’t expect a meal but some nibbles, This made for an expensive afternoon having paid for an entry ticket and then purchasing food. There was a complimentary drink on entering but not an alcohol free alternative. I know it is a pub but as a not drinker I still support the pub having lunch there often and drinking coffee. There was no tea or coffee available on this afternoon. Please if you don’t want to fire up your fancy coffee machine just have a jar of instant coffee and a kettle. As a regular customer I was very disappointed. Coffee is more expensive to buy than the soft drinks my friends buy so surely you could offer this. I my opinion the music left a lot to be desired. I don’t like to post bad reviews but the pub does need to know this was not a great event. Sorry folks. I will still be lunching with you.. I want to make it clear I am only rating this particular event.

Went for dinner with friends and sat in one of the beech huts, we all had 3 courses each and everything was amazing. All the staff are friendly and attentive, very good value for money as everything homemade with fantastic gluten free options.

I do not recommend this pub to anyone. The landlord, his wife and son. Are not nice people they say this is a family pub but it was not. They kept telling the childrens off for running around the Garden but that what children do they play with other kids and have fun. They couldn’t enjoy thierselves. The kids kept coming back to their parents miserable and wanted to leave. THIS IS NOT A FAMILY PUB

My wife and I visited Wokingham for a weekend away and we found this pub on one of our walks . As it was a lovely sunny day we sat in the garden at the back of the pub . The service by young Holly was excellent for both food and drinks , she worked tirelessly for the few hours we spent there . Would highly recommend the lunchtime menus , the goats cheese salad was delicious , as was the whitebait . A 5* visit

A very good "local" for bar food and main meals at affordable prices. Very clean establishment, friendly staff and well spaced out dinking in restaurant/bar. We enjoyed our mixture of bar meals and items from the main menu which were well presented and represented good value for money.

We went here for a family celebration for my husband’s 60th birthday. What a lovely surprise when we got there to find a big square table for 12 set up, so much nicer than a long table where you can’t talk to people at the other end, this helped to make the meal special. As others have commented the staff were all friendly and attentive. The food was good and huge portions.

Was delighted both with the food and the ease of arrangements. An excellent selection of hot and cold food made this buffet a hit with those who attended. My guests also commented on how helpful and friendly the staff were. Although the Christmas decorations were up, they were tasteful and so didn't jar with the occasion. I would also rate this as excellent value for money and would happily recommend it to anyone wanting to hold an event. I believe everything is made in house also.

Absolutely loved it ! Our first time there , we were met with such a warm , friendly & genuine welcome that it felt like we were regulars. The atmosphere was fab , it was busy but we still got a lot of attention. LOVED the fact that dogs are allowed in (special area) The team couldn’t do enough for us & were lovely. The food is gorgeous .. big portions! Only regret is that I ate so much that I had no room for dessert! So will definitely be back to try that! Thank you!

I asked if I could park my Camper Van in the car park as we were attending a music event at the White Horse. The courteous friendly service continued throughout the evening and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The food was hot, plentiful and well presented, I’d be happy to call this my local pub.

Following on from “clumpybob’s” review, it was myself and my new wife’s wedding. These guys were fantastic. From the planning, dressing the pub, providing top quality food and drink. Ensuring everything ran smoothly. They made our cake and accompanying cup cakes too, all to our specifications of colour scheme. If you want to have a great wedding/party/gig/function you can’t go wrong with the White Horse. Hats off to you Clive, Anita and Tom and all your wonderful staff! You made our day/year! Thank you.

I have been here a few times over the years as it's my mate's local - but we were there last Saturday as this mate was getting married - and decided to hold the reception here. My my my - haven't they been busy in the garden since I was last here?? Lots of wooden huts and a bigger, stage/hut at the end of the garden. All looked properly done - like a garden building showroom....but very sturdy, lively decor (on music themes) - and heaters inside! We were here for about 6 hrs, so I had to go to the bar many times - and the service was quick, efficient - but still with a smile and a friendly greeting every time I got there. The guy in the garden who was arranging everything for this wedding, worked like a Trojan - even carting the sound equipment inside so the band/music could continue somewhere slightly warmer. The people serving the food (which was of excellent quality considering it was a wedding buffet - with separate veggie & vegan food sections, and canapes beforehand) were great - actively replenishing the stuff that had run out, and really ensuring everyone had their fill. Later on, I really appreciated the lady going around offering blankets to chilly guests in their wedding garb. Nice touch. Great choice of beers, some impressive, fruit-laden G&Ts - and endless prosecco provided for the toasts. Considering how many guests there were all afternoon and evening, the (male) toilets were clean and tidy too! Great job to the management and staff of the White Horse - everybody is talking about what a great reception venue this was.

Popped for a spontaneous dinner last week, having been pre lockdown, we’ve not had chance since. Absolutely first rate service, really lovely ladies, attentive but not over the top. Food was gorgeous. We will certainly be back!

....not a lot going for the White Horse Seriously though, this place is ace. The staff are so accommodating and friendly, whether it’s a quick bit to eat or whether you have the Glastonbury cabin booked for a full on night out. Love what they have done with the garden and made it a really nice place to sit out. A nice stroll up Luckley to reach and I can’t say enough good things about what the owners have done.Finally is the food any good??? Well I’ve eaten about 5 times and never had anything less than brilliant, the chips are superb.My favourite pub in Wokingham

Popped in for lunch today. What a lovely time we had.Plenty of seating available inside or outside. A strong music theme through the pub. Decent tunes played all the time, large covered stage area with posters, all tables have names linked to music.Decent menu, really good service. Food was top quality. I had pie, mash and veg. My wife had chicken burger. Food was hot and portions were generous. Very well organised for COVID, and toilets very clean. All in all, a lovely experience.

We ordered this as a takeaway and LOVED IT! Especially the vegetarian options my mum and I had. The parsnip, ginger and cranberry burger was one of the nicest veggie burgers I have had as it wasn't a generic bean/meat alternative burger. The brie, cranberry and mushroom wellington was also really lovely, full of flavour and different to most veggie options. Chips were nice and chunky, and the mushy peas were also nice. Very impressed with the environmentally friendly packaging too. We'll definitely be back again.

I called to the white horse with my son for lunch today. We both decided to try ‘Clives’ curry, not aware that Clive was not in the kitchen. The curry was superb made by Jan today so congratulations Jan top marks. Clive should watch his back :)We will return to try the rest of the menu very soon no doubt.

We recently celebrated our daughter's small family Christening at the White Horse with a Sunday lunch and found the food and service to be absolutely superb.  Clive and Carly couldn't have been more accommodating in terms of booking and ensured that we were prepared for the covid restrictions.  They went out of their way to make the area look beautiful, provided a table for the cake, table cloths and balloons, all unprompted and hugely appreciated.  They even set out baby knives and forks for the little ones.  The food was superb and they let us pre order so the service was seamless.  Mini roast dinners were provided for our babies,  who proceeded to demolish half of their meals and throw the rest on the floor, I was horrified but Clive and his staff were completely relaxed, put us at ease and assured us that the mess wasn't a problem!  We noted that the entire venue had been 'covid proofed', we were offered hand sanitiser and staff wore masks and ensured that people not at their tables also did so.  It didn't detract from the ambience or our enjoyment of the day and was super reassuring.  We look forward to returning very soon and can't thank Clive and his team enough for a brilliant day, we felt really looked after and it was the perfect setting.  I can't recommend the White Horse highly enough.

First visit here for us. Very well organised and staff were very attentive. We both had Prawn cocktail starter and the roast beef main. Servings were generous and was a really good meal. Will be returning. Thank you.

So glad I googled a few places to eat and came across the White horse. Literally 2 miles from home and I’ve never eaten here! Why not? The food was really well cooked and huge portions. The chilli jelly is the best! Very accommodating with allergies and preferences. Very nice waitress, friendly and professional. Really good service and really good covid measures in place with one way systems and a drink ordering service. Will definitely go back. Made my birthday lunch a special time thank you.

Dropped in on a whim for dinner. Serving staff were charming, surroundings were lovely. A spaced tables and a very clear one-way system in place for social distancing. Menu had solid pub grub - along with a good children's menu. All the food was beautifully cooked - my daughter loved her Mac & Cheese! Coupled with a lovely dessert selection we had a great meal for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

The Sunday roast isn't the cheapest but we thought it was good value. Beef cooked just right, medium rare ... A large variety of vegetables including a large bowl of cauliflower cheese. Loved the red cabbage. The only disappointment was the Yorkshire pudding which looked shop brought and was out of place given the quality of everything else on the plate. The bar has a decent range of well kept session ales, something with a big more oomph would be good.

The pub is rather tired and the toilets need refurbishing. The Roast was disappointing as the beef was noticeably under-cooked - although there was a saving grace with the cauliflower cheese. Very little privacy with regards to conversation over lunch from other diners/drinkers.

Another great night at the White Horse as part of Welsh Week. The special Welsh menu was excellent and I particularly enjoyed the Welsh Rarebit with Attitude, Cawl (traditional Welsh lamb stew with vegetables, bread and Caephilly cheese) and a wonderful dessert, Crempog (pancakes, clotted cream, fruits and honey). Tom Martin entertained us with singing and guitar playing. Thank you for a most enjoyable evening.

Really enjoyed an evening meal with friends. The choice on the menu was very good...pub classics and 'in-house' specials. One member of the party commented that his steak was the best he had ever had and as for the chips, they were divine. Large, fat, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming; the service good but unhurried.We did dine on a Tuesday evening which is pub quiz night...and a very popular venue it proved to be. Unless you want to join in with the quiz I would suggest another evening other than a Tuesday.I will certainly recommend and visit again.

A group of 13 friends went to the White Horse on Sunday 5th January and enjoyed an excellent Sunday dinner in friendly surroundings and very good service. The food was homemade in the kitchen and of high quality with a good choice of starters, main course of beef, gammon, chicken or nut roast with a large selection of vegetables beautifully cooked followed by a variety of desserts. Highly recommended.

Visited for a family meal. There were 12 of us and everything was excellent. Huge Sunday roast and delicious starters and puddings. 2 vegans and 2 gluten free who were well catered for. Very attentive staff, we'll definitely be back.

Visited Friday night with friends for a catch up. Had a great meal, myself and my partner had scampi, delicious! Our friends had a selection of dishes from the “tapas” menu!! Looked amazing! Great service from our lovely waitress. Really friendly definitely going back soon!

We've lived near this oub but had never called in until a couple of weeks ago. I wish we'd been before. So welcoming, the food is good pub food (but very accomodating to different dietary needs when asked). The staff are so friendly and the landlord really goes outof hihs way to make everyone welcome. We've been a few times now, joinning in the quiz night and feel like we've been coming for ages. I would definitely recommend this lovely little gem.

The Daffodil Club and Suffolk Lodge had an amazing lunch here today. There was 34 of us in all and we all had a lovely meal!

Spent lunchtime today with 3 kids, and 3 adults. All of the kids finished their meal (a first) and the only problem with the adults was the amount of food. I had to leave some super chips, it will definitely return.

Popped in for an evening meal after work first time we had visited this pub. Excellent food really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Tried this place for the first time last night and was not disappointed. The car park is large and the outside garden area is large and very welcoming with customers seated outside even though I thought it was cold! The inside is inviting, warm and cheery a very nice country pub. It is essentially one bar with a dedicated food area at one end, the rest being seating and bar area. Good selection of real ales on, the Timothy Taylor Landlord was particularly nice. The food menu is a typical pub fare, lots of snack menu item, typical pub classics, sausage and mash, fish and chips etc. And an extensive burger menu, even saw a meal in the basket menu. None of your gastro stuff here, just good old honest pub grub, what a welcome change. The night we arrived it was quiz night so we had a go, good fun, lots of people and a good happy atmosphere, we didn't win! If you are anywhere near this place I would recommend it. Oh! Nearly forgot, the staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming as were the locals even though this was our first visit. Keep it up I say, don't change anything.

Visited The White Horse today with a friend for lunch, she had a chicken curry which was home made and was delicious and I had the hand carved ham, eggs and fries.

Good food. Decent beer. Pleasant ambience. Friendly service. Good value. All ingredients very high quality, including the vegetables (which often seem to let down a pub restaurant Sunday lunch).

Excellent food at the wake . The staff are courteous and nothing is too much trouble. Cost is reasonable and not a rip off like other pubs near the crematorium

Have to say that we just had the best buffet ever. Everything was fresh. All the pastry product where hot. Even the Gluten free selection was amazing. Would recommend this venue.

A nice family run pub, that was happy to host a funeral reception. We were given two thirds of the pub which was large enough to cater for the approx 40+ people who attended. The buffet was very good, and they were happy to provide more food when we ran low. A 5 minute drive from Easthampstead Park Crematorium, so very convenient. Would definitely recommend.

I took the wife and kids out for lunch and was very plesantly surprised by The White Horse. The service, food and facilities were all very good. Our 2 year old enjoyed playing wit the toys in the garden, and there was enough space to have our youngest in a push chair to nap while we had lunch at the table. The kids menu was good and porton size generous. For those who like a sweet dessert, I can recommend the Aero Cheesecake - which was the Chef's special, it was amazing

A surprise party!!! organised by our daughters (we were blindfolded) what a surprise we had when 60+ people were there in front of us - amazing.

We booked out the whole pub for our Mum and Dads surprise party and we had a fantastic evening. The staff were amazing they fixed the cake, looked after everyone who arrived early and they organised a lovely buffet, the gluten free option was the best I’ve had!!

The White Horse Pub is a great little place with proper old fashioned hospitality. Great place for lunch, dinner or a cheeky glass of wine after walking through Wokingham’s woodlands. We recently needed a venue for a family party and I am so pleased that we chose here. They catered to all our needs without question and knew exactly what we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble. The buffet was constantly topped up with hot dishes, people were served at the bar in a flash and the music meant we could all have a good old boogie. 100 of our closest friends and family all had a fantastic night thanks to the friendliness and hard work of the team! Great pub on the outskirts of town this pub has a great selection of largers and beers also does a great gin and tonic with all the trimmings.

At the time we visited the pub had an 'Open Mic' music evening. This was absolutely fantastic. Great music with some very talented people. It is a lovely pub, spacious and well decorated, quite homely. It has a reasonablely sized car park at the back and a lovely beer garden. We were however really disappointed with the food. We found it to be very bland, lacking seasoning and quite dry. I would recommend the cointreau chocolate dessest. Heavenly! Definitely back for the music but not the food, Sorry!

Having been well aware of this pub for some time, decided it was finally time to check it out. Early Saturday afternoon and very quiet. Ordered fish & chips, my friend had the ham, egg & chips. Neither of us were disappointed! Beautiful piece of fish in a wonderful batter. Chunky chips fried to perfection, ham warm and eggs perfect.

Been meaning to try out the Sunday roast for ages - wasn't disappointed and will be back asap to try out the regular weekday menu. Excellent attentive staff - highly recommended

Probably one of the nicest local meals out we have had! Kids portions were very generous as were ours! Today was very quiet but nevertheless we all enjoyed ourselves. Please don’t judge this pub by its decor, the food really was very good. I spoke to the guy that cooked our lunch and he was lovely and really good with my Daughter! We will definitely go back for food again. This pub really does deserve to be much busier! Recommend ham, eggs and chips and the scampi, not forgetting loaded potato skins!!

Spot on for watching the rugby autumn internationals on Sky Sports. Picked it as the best option for a dog friendly pub showing the game. Decent wine list, and nice ales on tap. Will definitely be back.

We have started to make the White Horse our regular “go to” pub whether it’s for a simple drink in the garden or quick lunch or dinner. The team are great and always make you welcome . The food is good home made fare and great value. Certainly worth a try .

Wokingham has plenty of pubs, this one has a pleasant garden, came for a drink as it was a sunny day. Good range of beers, bitter or lager, a relaxing spot.

We had a small family gathering to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversary. The staff were really helpful and friendly right through from booking to the time we left.

We have never had a bad meal here and the Sunday lunch is particularly good. Portions are generous, food is delicious and presented piping hot . The pub is a family business and they have worked really hard to revitalise the business with great success. If you want to try their great Sunday lunch, you would be wise to book.

Cold plates , overpriced, empty pub , would not recommend , shame used to be a fantastic venue with previous tenants and nice location

I meet my friends here for lunch. It's not pretentious with great pub food and friendly staff, really reasonable too.

We were a group of 9 visiting the local area for a wedding on the Saturday and needed somewhere for a Friday night meal and drink!

Have been to the White Horse a few times now and have enjoyed each visit, the food is delicious and plentiful and quite a varied menu and the service is great there’s also a nice beer garden at the rear, they also have music nights with local talent makes a great evening, will be visiting the White Horse more here’s to the next time.

I just have to say what fantastic service you get there the food is so good and value for money the staff are so helpfull i would recommend any time you it also good for disabled people in wheel chairsand for family aswell we have been most of june/ july the garden is also safe for children .I would give this pub a 10 star Well worth visiting Elaine

We approached the landlord with a view to providing refreshments after an early funeral. Clive was more than happy to cater for our party. There were hot bacon and sausage baps, sausage rolls, croissants, danish pastries and muffins. Along with tea, coffee and orange juice. We were allowed to use the pub like our own living room which generated a lovely relaxed atmosphere. All at a reasonable price.

Sunday lunch was amazing. The chef has done wonders. A not liked vegetable accompaniment has changed my view in the innovative way of serving it A mixed pure of carrot and swede was a delight and a red caramelised cabbage. The staff were extremely accommodating and were able to tweak the menu to suit which I found to be a pure professional approach in the foodie world. Unsure if vegan dishes are available but the staff are so accommodating with a pleasant welcoming manner I am sure if requested will oblige. I will definitely be eating here again and promoting the outstanding visit. Thank you to Clive and the staff that complimented the visit

I visit this pub occasionally and love the food and beer with a casual and laidback atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and a place to relax and reflect! The barmaid Sal is particularly very appealing on a Thursday night 😍

Booked a table for 3 and I’m generally very fussy about pub roast dinners but have to say it was spectacular.

Called in while out for a drive and passing. Ashley and the staff were great and fitted us in although fully booked. The four of us all had starters and the Roast beef main. The homemade chutney[thanks Katie] with the pate was to die for and the beef melted in your mouth, loads of vegetables and crispy roast potatoes. No room for pudding. Thanks too all the team will recommend to everyone. Also great value for money!!

Me and the boys were wanting classic British Pub for the birthday. Baedon recommended The White Horse in Wokingham, and I was not left wanting more. We were greeted by a lovely waitress and (after feeling faint due to the heat) we kindly moved to a different table in a great show of compromise. The grub was solid, lots of gravyyyyyyyyyyy. Needed massive poo after but well worth it

It was cold wet and snowy. We had no food in the house, so we changed it and turned up unannounced for a roast lunch. We had a lovely warm welcome and got a seat straight away. Nice big room and not noisy. Lovely clean loo. Staff helpful and friendly. We didn't feel rushed and had a great dinner! Really tender beef! Will definitely return, we have driven past so many times! Next time we will book!

We have been here lots of times since the new landlord has taken over and I have to say this has to have the best pub Roast dinner we have had, normally we avoid pubs on Sundays as we always leave disappointed but the food is amazing. Definitely book a table and go.

The White Horse has had several owners over the past few years but thankfully the present ones know what they are doing and do it well.

Ok atmosphere at lunchtime. Very friendly staff. Had baguettes for lunch with plenty of filling. Only white baguettes though, granary option would be a bonus. Beer looked after well. Prices reasonable.

We went looking for some old fashioned pub grub and that's what we got. Reasonably priced, service and staff were very pleasant and took the time to talk. Would visit again if we are in the area.

Taken over by new owners a while ago very disappointed with quality and temperature of food. Sunday lunch with the whole family. Too much food on the plate not nicely presented like the photos on the web site and not a patch on the previous owners, had to send dishes back as meat was cold. Deserts were very basic and no nice homemade deserts as before.Big shame wont be going there anymore

The new management have made huge inprovements in the short time they have been there.There is a lovely fairy lit garden with wendy house for the kids. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the service attentive. The food is great, and portions very generous. My steak was delicious and cooked to perfection. Cheesecake to die forRegular events such as quiz nights, live music and bingo - like on facebook to get advance notice.

Under recently changed management the rear garden has been extended and tidied up. On our visit the beer quality was OK, but not outstanding. On past visits when the previous managers were around even the Green King Ales were very good. This was only a brief visit so we would return to sit in the pleasant garden.

Absolutely fabulous food, my wife and I popped out for a meal found this place and didn't regret it. Possibly the best cheesecake I've ever had.

Called in to this country pub for a quick drink and ended up staying for a lovely meal. The pork bellies were to die for and the cider sauce was incredible. Both my daughters had the sirloin steak which were cooked to perfection. ' hats off to chef' (Clive). I have eaten in many very pricey restaurants but this food beat them hands down. Would definitely recommend and be back. Anita and Clive plus bar staff made us very welcome. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

We visited the White Horse for Sunday lunch as a group of 6 adults. Having heard good reviews, we were not disappointed. The service was very good, portion sizes generous, and the food was tasty. In particular, the landlady's cauliflower cheese, and the desserts were superb! We will definitely return.

This place is a rare treat, a real pub that knows what it is and not trying to be something it isn't. There is a family feel to here, very welcoming and you felt you could bring you children here while sport was on the TV and no one would mind. We had the Sunday roasts, exceptional value, very well cooked and very tasty, I would go for the cauliflower cheese. Although not a real ale drinker it being a camara pub speaks for itself. Well worth a visit for food or just a drink.

Having noted the pub had changed hands, their food was reputedly good and their pub quiz was always busy we went along to see for ourselves. We were not disappointed. Superb food, helpful and attentive staff, well priced meals. Pub quiz hilarious and though can't commit to every week we'd love to go again. Can see us eating our way around the menu and bringing friends along. So reassuring to find a pub being a pub without becoming a pretentious gastro pub.
