The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in North Deal Dover South East

Prior to going for a breakfast on a Saturday morning, I looked up times of opening 9-5. It was a cold icy -3. We are O.A.P’s. We arrived there a couple of minutes after nine. No lights were on and there were no times on the door. Soon after the lights came on and the staff arrived laughing and chatting. They looked at us and through us as though we were invisible. My husband started shaking as he felt so cold. Then one of the side windows opened and I asked what time they would open. I was then told 9:30. We considered leaving but hoped they would open the doors as to allow us in to wait inside. No they were not compassionate they showed no caring or feeling whatsoever…Inhuman treatment… and no humanity shown whatsoever. They didn’t say good morning they didn’t say goodbye. They just didn’t care.

Hope and Lane serves fair coffee and good vegan and non vegan hot snack options (not meals, more like sausage rolls and small pies and sweet snack.) This was a busy Saturday so it was full and not very easy to move around (too packed with furniture making it hard to move around if you had a dog or a pushchair) I’m afraid as they have tried to fill the place with seating both upstairs and downstairs. The staff were doing their best but there weren’t enough of them and the space behind the bar is not big enough for them all to work and sufficiently serve the customers on a busy day. It’s a shame the business hasn’t got that right. It also meant that tables were left uncleaned as the staff simply had too much on their plates. Success shouldn’t come at the expense of customers. I wasn’t sure what the reference to 1800 Columbia was upstairs then realised they simply hadn’t bothered to check how to spell Colombia 🇨🇴 as opposed to Columbia… always a sign of a non curious coffee business. What a shame - I had higher expectations. Low level of customer service, and when I reviewed with my experience on another channel I was met with defensiveness, sarcasm and they suggested my standards were too high (oh dear) and overall I was told if it was too busy for my liking I should go to Costa up the road (hey?) It was just a very unprofessional response from the owners. In today’s market if you can’t handle a less than perfect review it smacks of an outdated business model, making excuses for lazy management and a business culture that can’t look at itself in the face of customer feedback.

Very rude lady behind the counter serving - dark hair - didn’t want to be there - so don’t !! No smile , no friendliness. Your not doing us a favour we are the customer - the young girls bringing drinks out were smiling and attentive please take a head out of there book - disgraceful behaviour treating customers with such disrespect

Very busy pub. We had booked a table luckily. Great food.

This place really is up there as one of the nicest pubs in Deal, a perfect all-rounder. Traditional and welcoming, you can find yourself a nice cosy table or stand at the bar for a chat. Good selection of drinks and lovely food. Off the beaten track, so not overcrowded; really worth a visit!

I went this morning with my partner and 4 months old daughter for breakfast. It was really hot inside but not overly crowded. We ordered breakfast and I opted for a large breakfast. When it arrived they had only made me a regular. Mistakes happen, I get it. I was hungry so had made a point of going for a large. I told staff member Karen and she was good about it and sent it back so I could get the large. By the time it returned my partner was finished. From where we sat I could see the kitchen staff chucking some extra toast on top. When I saw the plate I immediately realised that it was not fresh and they had added the missing bits to my old order. Funnily enough everything else on the plate was now stone cold. It would have been a while before they made a new fresh (hot) breakfast so I was understandably annoyed and so asked for a refund. Fair play to Karen, she was really good and apologetic about it and said it should have been made fresh. She had to get the manager to help with the refund but he looked as if he could not care any less, gave a bit of a shrug and left. Poor food prep, poor management and left very annoyed at the experience. (This does not include Karen, who was helpful and did seem like she cared.)

The food was absolutely amazing, I am definitely going back to work my way through the whole menu 😋 😄 Worth the trip and value for money. I'd like to thank the chef for delivering such a great menu and bar staff for wonderful customer service. See you all soon

I am glad there is a Starbucks in Deal. However... I came in at 4pm and they had already started putting up chairs -- an hour before closing! This made it impossible for anyone else coming in to sit down, and also makes a very uncomfortable feel for anyone who is already there. It feels like they are encouraging you to leave in a not very subtle manner. Then someone went around spraying cleaner into the air while cleaning tables. Someone was spraying the cleaning chemicals right next to me. Not good at all. Many people are alergic to this stuff. Isn't the proper way to do this to spray it on the cloth and then wipe the table with the cloth? Also, a minor point perhaps, but they shut the place at 5pm when the official closing time is listed as 5:30 pm on the Starbucks website. I may be wrong about this but I had the general impression that some members of staff don't have much of a friendly attitude and probably don't enjoy working there. Could you please hire staff who actually enjoy the job and have a friendly attitude? I really hope that some of these issues get addressed.

Service very slow. We sat down (after confusion around tables) and didn’t get drinks for 30mins, children’s drink wasn’t chilled. Food was vile most of it had clearly been frozen. ‘Wild mushrooms’ were lukewarm slimy sliced chestnut mushrooms.

With big chains nearby it is easy to overlook this little place, but please don’t! It has a lovely atmosphere and a good selection of lunchtime foods and plenty of different drinks. Every one of our party was able to try a different flavour milkshake!
