Our family were in deal for the bank holiday . Bought some ice creams from outside - my daughter and I went in to see the selector of ice creams that were on sale. An extremely rude lady with blonde hair was quite annoyed that we were looking clearly thinking we were trying to jump the queue - which we weren’t - on making our decision we rejoined the queue outside and then when she served us was extremely unpleasant and rude once again to my daughter - please remember we are the customer and spending £16 for take away ice creams / yes you were busy and making a lot of money - treat customers with respect !!

Very rude lady behind the counter serving - dark hair - didn’t want to be there - so don’t !! No smile , no friendliness. Your not doing us a favour we are the customer - the young girls bringing drinks out were smiling and attentive please take a head out of there book - disgraceful behaviour treating customers with such disrespect

Lovely pub, very busy, good ale. Visited twice, whilst on a break. Major busy as football was being shown. Had an amazing Sunday roast, one of the best I've ever had. Roast beef, as everything else was sold out, but that's to be expected as it was gone five. You can't tip by card as the don't accept tips by card, only cash. Staff were bright, fun and engaging. This place really is up there as one of the nicest pubs in Deal, a perfect all-rounder. Traditional and welcoming, you can find yourself a nice cosy table or stand at the bar for a chat. Good selection of drinks and lovely food. Off the beaten track, so not overcrowded; really worth a visit!

Jamaican street food at amazing prices. Ruby, the barmaid offered a great welcome and was on hand to iffer advice about the awesome food. The chef's were receptive to food intolerance issues and a coctail, two starters and two mains came in at around £50. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Judging by the amount of fingerprints on the glass doors of this property it looked not to have ben cleaned for weeks. The interior door mat was clogged with leaves and bird fluff and a medium sized dog was seated on the leather padded seats at the entrance. We surveyed the scene and quickly escaped.

I live in Deal and have been eating and drinking here for many years and whilst the food was pretty good the service has been getting progressively worse. This evening there was no service whatsoever. The staff were just huddled round the bar chatting, like the last time I was there, and only do anything if they have to. All the ordering has to be done at the bar now so absolutely no table service. Even when clearing the main plates we weren't asked if we wanted anything else. Paul welcomes you to The Royal, but Paul needs to up his customer service experience and remember that without customers there is nothing!

With big chains nearby it is easy to overlook this little place, but please don’t! It has a lovely atmosphere and a good selection of lunchtime foods and plenty of different drinks. Every one of our party was able to try a different flavour milkshake!
