With big chains nearby it is easy to overlook this little place, but please don’t! It has a lovely atmosphere and a good selection of lunchtime foods and plenty of different drinks. Every one of our party was able to try a different flavour milkshake!

Visited for tea & cake. 5 staff working (I say that lightly) One making milkshakes in his coat & another stood twiddling her hair behind the counter. Service VERY poor VERY slow, had nearly finished drinks by the time cake came. The staff need a rocket up their behinds and the man needs to take his coat off if he’s meant to be working Shocking experience from an independent coffee shop

Popped in for lunch with my family. Our order for 3 toasted sandwiches was lost and it took a further 20 minutes for them to start to make them once we had complained about the wait. The manager was rude and unhelpful and absolutely no apology was made when we finally received them after an hour. Shocking service. Avoid!

Was very expensive for the quality of the drinks we ordered. There was no option to choose your size of drink and our drinks were warm! Staff were talking about explicit, disgusting personal issues when we were trying to enjoy the food we had paid a lot for! Seems to have gone down in standards to when I last visited. Will not be returning any time soon.

We pop in for lunch on Thursdays and the toasies and cakes are amazing. Also makes such a change to get cup of tea with skimmed milk.

We were drawn to the cafe by the lovely interior design and tempting display of filled rolls. We chose to have toasties and ordered with two drinks. The bill came to £17 which is quite a lot for a light lunch, but I don't mind paying that if the food is good. Over half an hour we were waiting for our food and once I'd enquired about it, waited some more and almost about to walk out, I saw the girl who had served me sitting down to her own lunch. The food was plain, and cheap. Basic thinly sliced white bread (we weren't given the option of wholemeal) and stale corn chips. No salad. It's really put us off as we'd come out looking for a healthy lunch. It was also a shame that the drinks came in plastic disposable beakers. While we were waiting for our food we saw two other customers asking after their food, and a lot of the staff who looked about 13 years old running around having fun oblivious to the customers. It felt pretty unprofessional. I think the quality of food and service did not live up to the promise that the interior design offered. We won't be returning

It seems to be a popular place. We ordered a smoothie, which was so cold I got brain freeze, and an overly milky Belgian hot choc.

This lovely little cafe is situated on the main shopping street and has lots of seating both inside and out. There were breakfast muffins and traybakes on offer and while we were drinking our coffee, tray after tray of delicious looking freshly filled rolls appeared in the cabinets ready for lunch. The service was friendly and the prices very reasonable.

The person taking orders couldn't work the till and no-one was helping her. After about 10 minutes trying ti loacyed a cappachino on the till pad for the lady in front of me, I had to ask another staff member to intervene and she did so grudgingly. This other staff member completely forgot my order and I had to do it twice. Then when seated two separate people came over to check what we had ordered again. Real muddle. Dreadful to be honest.

The cafe is sited in the busiest part of the High street and competes well with two big coffee chains. As the outside tables and inside lighting is orange I might rename it The Orangery but I found it flexible for cakes and pastries a diabetic could eat. Iced coffee is available which can have sugar free maple syrup added, then there are croissants with butter and/or jam. Wooden tables, padded seating and real cutlery. Staff welcoming, some in same family. .Music inobtrusive .The cafe changed hands and the kiddies play area has gone, but the space is more suited for a mainly adult ambience. Menus not needed here with counter display.

If you are in Deal and you don't try The Milkshakes at the Yellow Giraffe, the you have wasted your trip! If they have it, their jaffa cake cake is also a star. Good coffees etc. too of course! And lovely, welcoming service. Get your canine friend a puppaccino here too!

...all food and drinks are served in plastic dishes, plastic cups and with plastic cutlery! now this maybe due to the current pandemic, but then again it may not. Whatever the case, I just hope and pray that all plastics used on the premises are not just recyclable but are also disposed of accordingly. Unfortunately all of this casts a very negative shadow over what would be a really cool place serving really nice food. Such a shame!

Food portions were rather small - halloumi burger was the size of my fist, with stale bread. Matcha drink has large bits floating in it Panni was good though, better bread quality and value for money.

I walked into this Waterfront Bar & Lounge early morning after a lovely zen walk along the seafront with my family. Then visited the cafe, then was greeted by a member of staff with a very unfriendly demeanour no morning greeting - I was greeted with a grumpy face and was told “we are busy so you will have to wait! “ So I walked out and went to COSTA - I like to support local business but not this occasion!

Popped here on the way back from broadstairs, i usually go to the subway in Whitfield but thought I'd give this place a try, same subway vibe as everywhere else. Nice little location, easy parking, great 👍

The website / google map claims it shuts at 5:30 on a Saturday. I stopped by at 3PM and asked a member of the staff till what time we could come in. I was told 3:30 - no hot food only hot drinks. Brought the rest of my family who were elsewhere in the castle and entered the cafe at 3:10, only to be told we can just take away as they have started cleaning. The tickets to these castles are not cheap so not pleased by some staff deciding to create rules on their own. 20 minutes is plenty to sit and drink a cup of coffee instead of being outside in the cold. I wish the staff were either paid enough or trained well.
