The toastie we had was super tasty and I really enjoyed it. The bread was fresh and the filling delicious. It was a bit odd that they weren’t served on plates, just in cardboard holders, which made eating them awkward. The venue itself has a cool Scandi feel. Only giving 4 stars on account of the fact that it wasn’t super clean- the toilet was grubby and all the glasses/ crockery were slightly sticky

What lovely people and great coffee. A must visit if you’re walking in the area. Friendly efficient and great staff. And dog friendly.

Went here as it was the first cafe we saw on getting out of our car and just came in for coffee. However when we saw how nice the food looked we decided to stop for lunch. We had a pizza and a pasta dish and we both thought these were some of the best we’ve ever had. Service was excellent - prompt and courteous and whilst not cheap, the food definitely wasn’t substandard and was well worth the money. We’ll definitely come again if we’re up this way and would recommend to anyone to give it a try.

One of the most interesting pubs I’ve ever had the pleasure of walking into, by chance at that! We have a lovely time sat at the bar chatting to the young barmaid about the pub and the area! She helped as much as possible with recommendations of where to visit despite not being a local( Rydal water was beautiful). Upon leaving there was an altercation where a small dog lunged at the two labourers on their way in. The owner did manage to control their dog. While explaining that the group with the dog would have to leave after the dog showing aggression she was bombarded by the owner of the two dogs that the dog had lunged for (whom never witnessed the lunge as he was ordering drinks) as “dogs will be dogs”. The girl got quite overwhelmed and tried to explain that aggressive dogs could not be in a dog friendly pub. When we left the young lady was in quite a tizzy.

We visited yesterday evening after a day hiking up Helvellyn and we was in need of a pub food fix and after all the amazing reviews we thought we would give this place a try.The quality of the food was amazing we had the pigs in blankets and calamari to start and gammon steak for mains and it was cooked to perfection. The staff and Owner were lovely and we even ended up staying for alot more drinks than we should have due to how friendly the staff were and how amazing the atmosphere in the pub. (Sore heads this morning!!)Highly recommend visiting this place we would rate higher than 5* if we could!

I had the decaf latte, which was barely drinkable. Not so much a coffee shop (at least to American eyes), more like a little diner.

Fantastic pub. Me my husband and our 2 springer spaniels visited at the beginning on November. The food was outstanding proper home made traditional pub food. The staff were friendly and brilliant with our dogs which is a bonus. The pub made us feel very welcome and we visited everyday while we was there. Thank you

After a train trip to Kendal we got off the train in Windermere and called into Booths for a snack. I was really impressed by the food. My friend had a prawn sandwich and I had a ham and cheese toastie. She had a decaf coffee and I had a tea. My toastie was probably the best I've ever had. The bread was good and it was really good quality ham and cheese. It was served with a side salad with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Really lovely and bursting with flavour. The cafe was busy and it was lovely to see such a diverse workforce. We weren't in a hurry but it seems everything is made on demand so takes some time. If you want a quick meal this won't be for you as the queue to get served takes a while, then the wait for food takes a while. If you aren't in a rush I'd definitely recommend Booths for very good quality food and drinks. All the food I saw looked great. We also had a wander around the store and they had a great range as well as some very good offers. We were on a mini break but I'd love a store like this near to where I live.

Sorry to say but the food was dreadful . Much of the food was greasy or cold . My wife’s Terriaci chicken had totally cold garlic pitta bread on the plate . My seafood pizza was very poor and unseasoned . The calamari starter was very greasy . The venue was lovely and beautifully seasonal . The service was good and barman was perfect and very polite . Our only issue was the chef . The calamari was battered and greasy not breaded . The fish added to the pizza was dry and tasteless. Sorry to be so negative.
