Amazing Sunday dinner. Prob the best we’ve had in years. Really fresh, beef cooked to perfection (other half very fussy meat eater) - veggie nut roosts tasty and veggies really fresh. Good service. Lovely cosy decor. Would definitely come again.

We found the Terrace by chance on a cycle trip around Coniston lake. We had lunch consisting of baps filled with Rarebit and vegetarian sausage. The quality of food and coffee are excellent and the waiting staff were exceptional. Stunning view from the outdoor seating area.

Called here for a takeaway lunch, used them several times before. Service was disappointing to say the least. Not a please or thankyou from the ladies working in the shop - even when I pointed out they'd only charged me for 1 flat white! Previous reviews also highlight the fact that the staff are miserable, they respond but do nothing to address the concerns raised. Also, I would've thought that as u was the only customer in the shop on a very wet day would have been positive for them - obviously not! Not sure I'll return here.

Best scones ever--get the scones and jam with clotted cream. So good! They sell out of the soup, so go early if you want soup.

Loved the offerings in this cafe. It’s not all vegan but most is. And delicious! The no steak pasty was very tasty. Best hot choc I’ve had in a long time too. Unfortunately everything is served in single use packaging. As an environmentalist myself I’m all for being eco-friendly but the most sustainable cup is the one you don’t use. A ceramic cup can be washed and reused many times. A cup made of plants still has a carbon footprint in its manufacture and disposal so I think this needs a re-think.

As we were staying a few doors away and it was a rainy day, we decided to have a takeaway lunch from this lovely little takeaway/cafe. There were seven of us so we had a good selection of the hot food on offer and also chose some of their cakes for afterwards. The order was all freshly made while I waited and the food was delicious. The soup deserves a special mention as does the caramel shortbread. I read the one star review from someone who wasn’t allowed to take a dog in and the cafe owners are absolutely right with this - they are really small with I think only 8 seats and it wouldn’t be nice for other people eating if someone had a dog in there (and I say that as someone on holiday with two dogs). Definitely recommend The Old Cobblers.

Fab little cafe. Really friendly staff, especially young man who offered food left over when closing. Coffee great too. Do go.

On arrival we weren't greeted just told us to pay for 2 nights up front which was out of the ordinary usually pay the balance checking out normal procedure. Wasn't at all impressed with the room and set up especially what we paid for. The owners could do with investing in new beds and pillows. A smile or greeting at breakfast would have been pleasant and worst of all we had to pay for parking due to limited of car parking spaces. We definitely wont be staying at this place again. The family is looking forward to staying at the new place The Kings Arms which is reopening Summer will be booking to stay there after boxing day 2025.
