Called here for a takeaway lunch, used them several times before. Service was disappointing to say the least. Not a please or thankyou from the ladies working in the shop - even when I pointed out they'd only charged me for 1 flat white! Previous reviews also highlight the fact that the staff are miserable, they respond but do nothing to address the concerns raised. Also, I would've thought that as u was the only customer in the shop on a very wet day would have been positive for them - obviously not! Not sure I'll return here.

We popped in to The Honeypot as part of a short getaway to the Lake District. A lovely little deli that stocks a really great range of products, including food suitable for vegans (thank you!). The staff working there were really welcoming and kindly warmed up our purchases to eat. My partner got some local cheeses that he's really looking forward to trying, including the 'Hawkshead Hootenanny'!

The HoneyPot is really a specialty deli rather than a restaurant/cafe. You can get a few takeaway items from here (coffee/sausage rolls etc) & yes a few lovely tables outside in the charming Hawkshead square, but this place is primarily a deli. What an amazing deli it is too. It’s absolutely full to the brim of locally sourced items of drink & food along with delicacies from around the UK & in particular some wonderful items from Italy. Husband described it as “heaven” we purchased a local gin & beers.

Sandwiches and takeaway food was pretty average. Think Greggs. Ie packet sliced Turkey. Pasty that was all pastry. Used Utterly butterly spread. Nothing artisan about it. Bread was fresh. Coffees terrible. 2 cappuccinos we couldn’t drink. Staff were lovely though and the produce on the shelves looked very nice

We visited the honeypot today and was really disappointed with the sausage sandwiches we received. When I ordered them I noticed the lady who served me get the sausages out of the ice cream freezer to then microwave. The sandwich was really dry and disappointing. I wish had cancelled the order when I saw her take the sausages out of the freezer and into the microwave. I was expecting a nice fresh sandwich as the place looked like a lovely little deli. Very disappointing.

We nipped in here for a quick bite to eat. The rolls we had were delicious - the freshest and softest rolls we have had for a long time and by far the nicest we had in the Lake District. We also took some plain rolls away with us and had with local bacon - again delicious

Tripad refers to this as a restaurant but it is a deli with a coffee, tea, sandwiches and cake offering. We stayed very near to this Heaven last week and while we didn't stop for coffee and cake we spent a lot of money in the Deli and sampled as much as we could and brought a lot home. Ab Fab! The staff are a delight and very friendly and helpful, even if you weren't buying. Unlike the Hawkshead Relish Company staff down the road (even if you were buying!) The product range is mind blowing and just as well we don't live nearby as our waistlines wouldn't cope. When we revisit Cumbria this shop will be a destination

My folks live in Far Sawrey and we often come to Hawkshead as the nearest shopping centre to where they live. The Honeypot is a must-visit destination for delicious local treats. Recently bought my stepfather a bottle of lakeland gin. I love their special gingerbread, and special cheese counter. Last time I went with my mum and sat outside on the little table and chairs savouring some delicious ice cream My stepfather also raves about the rhubarb and ginger preserve - his new favourite. Overall quality stuff and for such a little shop has great variety.

The selection of speciality foods on sale is also quite remarkable, especially if you love honey which is available from suppliers across the globe.

Basically just a tourist trap for people that don’t read the back of labels! I made a bee line (excuse the pun) for the honeypot as we love honey as do our relatives. Out of an entire wall of honey we found not one honey from local bees. The nearest was from a commercial producer in Lancashire (where we live) and the majority listed their origin from EU and non EU countries (anywhere) a real shame. It’s not difficult to find a local supplier. I would imagine a lot of people presume they are buying local British honey. But it’s a honey trap. More honey not than honey pot. There was some local salamis which was good to see and they tasted good. But overall disappointing

I visited the Honeypot in Hawkshead on Thursday to buy some goodies for a picnic for my partner and myself. There is a huge amount of choice of delicious local foods ...cheeses ,pickles ,olives ( to name but a few) ....and I was overwhelmed by the choices in Chutney ...fortunately the lovely woman behind the counter gave really good advice and I purchased a jar of Caramalised Onion ....excitedly half an hour later we unpacked the picnic to discover I had left it behind. My fault entirely as I had become overexcited about discovering Kendal Mint Cake and had forgotten to pick it up ! On return to the shop two days later my pickle was waiting for me and all members of staff had been informed just in case ....how rewarding to be treated with such courtesy and service!!

Whilst an route to Skelwith Bridge to start a walk, stopped in Hawkshead for a sandwich and found myself here. Ordered a tuna mayo and a cheese and chutney granary sandwich. Both came on small baguettes. The tuna mayo was mixed straight from the can with a blob of mayo from a squeezy bottle and slices of cucumber were added. No other salad, so it was very flat. The cheese was okay and the chutney was nice. They were £3.50 each. When compared to other sandwiches I can get for that price I have to say that were expensive. I added a piece of flapjack and two bags of crisps and it came in just under a tenner. Was it service with a smile? No. I felt as if it troubled the two women who stood behind the other counter, to make me a sandwich. So, my view of this place was expensive and average and that's the best I can say. I won't be back.

On a little visit to Hawkshead, we became a little peckish for a snack. Saw The Honeypot with its out side tables and chairs, so decided to sit for a quick snack. I had a sausage cob. It was delicious, the relish they put on it really brought out the flavour of the cumbria sausage that was on the cob. We had coffee with our cobs which was very nice coffee. The lady serving was polite and very helpful. The Honeypot is got to be worth a stop if you are in the market for a quick snack. iron,t think you will be disappointed.
