A great cafe serving delicious food and the homemade cakes are by far the best. Nice to come here for food but also a great stop add after walking the tolken trails! Lots of lovely walks around . Dog Friendly and the staff are lovely too.

We wanted to go out for a country run and also find a nice cafe for snacks and cake. Well we certainly found the place - ALWAYS CAKE - within the small grounds of Stydd Gardens, Ribchester. What a delightful place. The staff were lovely, the food excellent especially the victoria sponge and carrot cake, all home made. We will certainly visit again. Thank you everyone at Always Cake.

Just bought a sausage, bacon and egg butty to take back home from an early morning stroll around town. I’ll be back again next weekend. That was delicious! Proper tasty meat that and generous. Isn’t worth trying to make my own any more to get one like yours. Cheers!

No food as they don't serve it but the beer was as good as ever.

We stayed B&B at Greendale as part of their evening meal package with La Locanda down the road in Gisburn (details on Greendale website). In my head, I'd got the Greendale down as a bit of a means to an end - somewhere to stay that was close to the excellent La Locanda. However, Greendale very quickly became an end. The Greendale gave us a spacious, comfortable, quiet, well-equipped room with a wonderful 180-degree panoramic view across the Ribble Valley. After a good night's sleep, we had a great breakfast of mashed avocado, egg topped with smoked bacon crumb and chives. Excellent range of tea and coffee. We then went for a great 5 mile walk straight out the door and returned to Greendale for a cup of tea and a piece of cake. And what a cake it was. There's some serious cake making going on here with their talented in-house chocolatier leading the charge. As this wasn't enough, the quality of the hospitality was outstanding. Bearing in mind we stayed over on a busy Mother’s Day when the clocks had gone forward (so they'd already lost an hour of prep time), all the staff were welcoming and helpful. Looking back, there was something life affirming about our stay at Greendale. In doesn't pretend to be a part of the crowded (and over-priced) Northern boutique hotel scene. Greendale does what it does on its own terms - outstanding food and hospitality at a very competitive price.

Updated review. Having visited a number of occasions and always enjoying today's experience not so good. I appear to have been overcharged. I did query but the girl was adamant she was correct. 2 x Sandwich Specials £6.50 each plus egg and tomato which i think are £1 each. Charged £19.80. A pity

We had a family celebration on Thursday lunch time at The Spread Eagle, Mellor. It was a great experience. The staff were so kind and couldn't do enough for us. The food was first class. The sitting out area that overlooks the Ribble Valley was outstanding. I could and would recommend this establishment to anyone. Thanks once again to the staff. Stuart Eggleston of Mellor.

There’s little else to be said. On arrival there was a warm welcome and we were seated very quickly. Unfortunately, there was a large party in and we asked if we could move somewhere quieter. It wasn’t a problem at all and we were moved with a smile. The orders taken and delicious cocktail ordered, we just awaited our food. It didn’t disappoint. I finished with a cheese board - it’s not often I find a cheese that is unknown to me but they succeeded and they were all brilliant. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much for them - a real credit to the Rum Fox.
