I visited these Tea Rooms with a group of ladies who I sing with (we had a good song song whilst we were there). The Tea Rooms had prior knowledge that we were arriving and had closed the Tea Rooms especially to accommodate us. The food was presented beautifully and tasted lovely. I have a vegan diet and am used to making do with any old thing when I go out, but not here. They made me some beautiful food, hummus and salad wraps, couscous, salad and vegan potato salad followed by vegan scones and vegan strawberry tarts beautiful. I am not sure if a vegan option is normally available but maybe if you ring beforehand they could do something for you. I would definitely go back.

We visited Millie’s on a rainy Saturday afternoon and extremely pleased we did!! We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children and ordered a selection of food and drinks off the menu. All items were served without us waiting more than a few minutes and everything we ordered was delicious. The cakes were wonderful and my children both had amazing Vimto ice creams - what a treat; very generous portion sizes and all very tasty. The location is so pretty and the cafe is extremely clean. The owners have made the cafe feel very fresh, airy and light whilst still feeling welcoming and inviting. Parking is convenient and the prices made our visit great value. All the staff were polite and helpful, especially the lady who owns the cafe who made us feel very welcome and was more than happy to explain what options were gluten and dairy free aswell as vegan to suit our parties various dietary requirements. We shall definitely be returning soon!!

First time we have been in since Phil Janette and Millie ran it. There were no tables free so on being told it would be 20 mins wait for a table we ordered a takeaway of toasties and sandwiches for 4 people as we wanted it sooner. Whilst we were waiting only two tables received food. Ours finally arrived after 40 minutes! Food was quite nice but very slow. There were plenty of staff working and as cafe owners ourselves we concluded that there was little sense of urgency or organisation.

I parked my bicycle outside and nipped in to order coffee & a slice of cake. Inside looked very pleasant and welcoming, but as I was a tad sweaty and smelly I made my order and sat outside. Very pleasant young lady took my order and brought it to table. One piece of cake turned into two. As you can see I didn't really hang around or try anything from the menu, but ... We were staying in the village as we had restaurant vouchers for somewhere nearby but we are not familiar with the area at all. I spotted this coffee shop on the drive in so we walked down after checking into our accommodation. It was only 15 minutes before closing time so quite often places don't want customers coming in on the last minute. I checked with the young lady at the counter and she could not have been more welcoming. There's was a great choice of homemade cakes some even contained the homemade jam which was also for sale. We had a cappuccino each and a piece of raspberry and white chocolate cake each. Both were fantastic but what made this even better was the young lady who served us (3rd Feb) as she was so pleasant, polite and helpful so thank you very much for our brief stay. We stumbled upon Millies almost by accident whilst looking for the famous Tolkien Trail. We couldn't find the start and the other half went in to ask for directions. "Dad" kindly guided us to the start and the OH decided we should stop for something to eat. This is how cafes should be; warm, welcoming and the smell was incredible. I had the full English breakfast (divine). Even though we turned up at 12pm, Dad still looked after us and made us breakfast even though they stop serving breakfast at 11am. The food came out hot, fresh and the marmalade wouldn't be out of place in a Michelin Star restaurant! The service was impeccable and the little quirk of the place, in that all of the decor was available for sale, almost to remind you of the experience, was a refreshing change from your ten-a-penny cafes with little or non existent atmosphere. Oh and one last thing, the cakes look AMAZING, I regret not getting one, but walking the trail in 25 degree heat and carrying a cake would have been difficult!

This is a pleasant cafe with nice staff. I only wish I could give it a higher mark. We had been in previously for a drink and it was fine, but as I write this I am suffering from stomach cramps and diarrhoea which I can only relate to a meal at lunchtime. We ordered chicken and leek pie which looked fine, tasted Ok, but on closer inspection we found the pastry to be pale and quite raw underneath ( chicken seemed cooked ).We informed the staff who to their credit did not charge us for the meal, just the drinks and said the chef needed a holiday ! ( We did not see the chef ). Ok, but please check your food as I am sure they do not want to serve undercooked food; not only is it going to deter customers, but it can be a health hazard. Perhaps this is an oversite, but we shall not be returning.

As we both work from home, we decided to have our "office party" at Millie's. Again, wonderful atmosphere, brilliant food and couldn't have asked for more. Cannot recommend Millie's enough Absolute gem.

I'm coming in Millies two times and it's wonderfull ! I'm french and I can eat a traditional dish of England. In first time I drinking a Banana milkshake and after for the breakfast a scone with butter in heart form with jam just delicious !So thank you and congratulations for your cooking.Sorry for my bad english

We'd walked the Tolkien trail and were shattered and very hungry. This place was wonderful, the staff were very welcoming and the food was fantastic. We only had soup, sandwiches and cake but it all seemed to be freshly made and there was plenty of choice. We would go back just to visit Millie's again

I ate here for lunch whilst walking the Tolkien Trail. It was very busy around12 noon on a Saturday and no tables inside so I sat outside. I had a tuna cheese toastie salad and coleslaw and a heart shaped biscuit filled with butter cream. My order came extremely quick considering it was very busy and came with a wooden knife and fork too. The food was excellent and the biscuit was amazing. All their cakes looked amazing and they're all homemade. I'll definite eat here again.

Lovely little place with a friendly welcome as soon as you walk through the door. The gluten free cheese and onion pie was heavenly! And served with a generous helping of veg you can't go wrong. Who can resist the wonderful cakes and desserts on offer too? A nice slice of gluten free cake to take away was just what was needed. Worth a visit if you are ever in the area. Be aware it does get really busy though.

After enjoying a local walk we decided to go to Millies for a bite to eat. I was really happy to see a whole page of the menu devoted to gluten free options. Egg Mayo sandwich was brill and very well presented with a colourful side salad containing blueberries and strawberries. For afters I had apple pie and ice cream. Can't remember the last time I ate pastry! My husband loved his minced beef pie with perfectly cooked vegetables and new potatoes. He said the blackcurrant pie had the best pastry he'd ever tasted! The young waitress was friendly and helpful, she said her nan has to eat gluten free too.No wonder this place is so busy if they produce such excellent food!,

After a hard morning in the garden, we decided to treat ourselves to lunch at Millie's. We were so glad we did. We both had pate which we agreed is the best we have ever had - without a doubt. The staff are all so friendly, the food is homemade and cooked to perfection. The service is really good and the staff treat you like family. The banter going on is brilliant. I cant recommend Millie's enough. There should be a rating above Excellent, to allow this little place to have the true recognition it deserves. Cant wait to go back - which we will certainly be doing. Thank you Millie's.

A very tastefully decorated wine bar with some seating outside. We just had drinks so cannot comment on the food. We were warmly greated when we walked in and was offered tables inside or outside. A large wine menu, as expected. Would definitely like to try the food next time.
