Great cocktail bar, lovely outside garden with wooden seating pods. Lovely cocktails and friendly staff.

Lovely cafe hidden a bit but very nice indeed, shame it was absolutely pouring down as it kept the town very quiet, although it’s outside eating plenty of room to stay dry, definitely worth going as the food great and the owners very welcoming

Stumbled across this restaurant after leaving another venue close. The staff and the hosts were fantastic. I was there with my family including our 5 year old Granddaughter. The owners were really good to her especially after having a bad experience at the previous venue. The food was really good and not too expensive either. I would definitely recommend this venue and if back in Uppermill I will be going here.

Absolutely fantastic. My husband had a breakfast which had, as he put it, proper sausage and bacon and perfectly cooked eggs. I had a taste sensation in frangipane crumpets with an orange sauce and almonds. They were amazing. The staff were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Proper tea with tea leaves too. A gem of a find while visiting from overseas. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you Rec Room for a fab breakfast experience. Ps can't add photos we were too busy enjoying our food to take any.

Awful 😞 Not good value for money, terrible service, food is very overpriced. Won’t be going again.

Discovered the Hidden Garden over a year ago now and it’s one of my favourite places to go. Great coffee (no additional charges for milk alternatives), beautiful views and dog friendly! The little treats they serve your dog are an added bonus (no charge either!) my pooch loves a visit. We have been in all weathers, although most of the seating area is outside there are some wonderful covered nooks to curl up with blankets galore and even a pizza stove burning logs to keep you warm in the winter. The cakes and food are delicious and the additional pop up food stalls they host are brilliant. Highly recommend for a cosy catch up away from the high street bustle.

Decided to give the pub an other try as heard it’s recently been taken over and refurbed. It did not disappoint. The decor is tasteful. The food was the best I’ve had there. I ordered the burger and my friend the steak. Both of which were delicious, well cooked and reasonably priced. Didn’t book and were immediately sat down, service was great. I would had given 5 stars but the cherry Bakewell desert which sounded delicious was in fact a dried bit of Bakewell a few dried almond scattered on with poor quality vanilla ice cream. I don’t usually have desert but it sounded so nice - Will skip this next time. Well worth a visit.

As someone who is gluten and dairy intolerant it is often difficult to enjoy a meal out. This was not the case at the Royal George. Their Sunday carvery went down a treat so much so that I did not even miss the Yorkshire pudding. They went above and beyond to check that my choice of pudding also met my requirements. Excellent will definitely visit again.
