Nice food and very good service

Food was great and the best line up of beers I've seen in a while. I rate the local Tiger rut. Will definitely return. Also has Sky Sports channels on TV.

Went last night for SIL leap year birthday. Couldn't fault it, food perfect, staff great especially Hannah who dealt with our table,chef chopped up tiny pieces of cucumber for the baby to chomp on !! Definitely recommend a visit.

I went to this pub for the first time last Friday. The portions are substantial without compromising on quality. I had fish and chips, the fish was gigantic and beautifully cooked... I then shared an equally sizeable sticky toffee pudding which was divine. To cap it all the service was exceptional; the female who served us was attentive and carried the biggest of smiles. Will definitely revisit in the near future.

Not been in years and decided to try after rave reviews. Food is great but they haven’t got the balance right between being a restaurant and a drinking pub. We were having dinner while sport was being played in a way where people were watching over us. Not the vibe I want for what is marketed as a premium place to dine. Will try again but will avoid the evening.

Needs a face lift busy pub decent pizzas just not the nicest inside

Popped in and it was really busy. There was only one table without reserved signs on it, so jumped on it. Got told by staff that it wasn't available and that we had to leave it. Made us feel like idiots. Put signs on your tables! Left and went to the Clarence around the corner, was great.

Lovely little pub. We went with our dog, ordered food and the lovely chef brought out something for our dog to eat. Would 100% reccomend.

Very busy place and a lot of options to choose from for food. Food was good portions and very nice, some things let it down like the chicken wings as they were very dry and the roast potatoes were rock solid, like said the pub was very busy. We will be returning 😀

I found this pub through a Google search and thought I'd give it a try, I wanted to go somewhere not on my doorstep for a change and was glad I did. It's a nice looking pub on the outside but there's a few steep steps up to the door that my Nan struggled with (not sure if there's another way in) There is a nice size car park straight across the road for drivers. On the inside you can tell it's an old pub , I prefer an old pub to a newer type, they're just cosier. It's a bit tired looking on the inside decor wise but nothing much (I do recommend new laminated menus though). If your going in to watch sport there's plenty of tvs about but not blaring so don't worry if your not, it won't spoil your visit. The food was served quickly and it was really nice , good portion sizes too. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we were provided with food boxes to take left overs home. Like everywhere else at the moment the prices were a little high but I'd rather pay what they need to keep the pub open rather than it have to close down , we should all keep that in mind. Nice friendly atmosphere. Staff were really nice and helpful. The best thing for me was the fact they allowed dogs. I can't leave him on his own so I very rarely get to go out anywhere, I'm sure there are many more in my situation who would love to support our pubs but can't. So thanks to the Farrars Arms I got to go out and have a lovely birthday meal with my family,Thank You. 100% recommended 👍😊

Stopped off here during a busy period for some lunch between jobs. Great atmosphere and extremal friendly staff. Explained that we only had a short break and they sorted us some lovely food in no time. Defo popping in again when I'm next in the area...

Delightful country pub teeming with life on a bright sunny spring day in England. Had a lovely traditional home made pie with veg for lunch and a pint of the local beer.

Banging pies great service lovely atmosphere

Warm welcome from the friendly lady single handedly running the bar, taking food orders, running around manically and pretty much everything else (apart from the cooking, which was handled superbly we thought by the chef in the open kitchen) Place was fairly busy and thought we'd have to wait a while for our food but surprisingly we didn't. We sat at a table that hadn't been cleaned and some side plates that were brought to our table were still dirty with old food stuck on them, maybe because there was only one chef, one server...maybe someone phoned in sick hey? Food well presented and tasty, I had the flavoursome Steak, Stilton and ale pie with superb mushy peas and my wife had the burger which she said was only disappointingly average, I tried one of the patties and she was right. We also had a lovely starter of garlic pizza bread and cheese and a couple of drinks each which came to just short of fifty quid, not bad really in this day and age. The TVs, that there were four of, were overbearing and distracting and ruined the ambience but we were in a pub after all but the attempt to make it a restaurant, gastro pub and bar seemed somewhat muddle up. Would we go again? Maybe not if they're short staffed like this.

Been there a few times and never disappoints. Good food at reasonable prices, good service, nice atmosphere. Even though football was on TV it wasn't loud and in your face like in some places. Definitely recommend.

Had a nice meal here Belly pork bites taste lovely Rag pudding could have been warmer, had to wait for staff to bring eating irons ,after first one's used eating starters, Very good selection of beers . Not bothered by staff keep asking if everything is OK . Only fault was young kids wandering inside pud

Had a disappointing visit today. Waiter was rude couldn’t serve a tennis ball. Even though it was a Tuesday wasn’t informed that the 2 for 12 deal wasn’t available .Bill was sent wrong 4 times with items added that we didn’t order. Will not be returning.

...Have been here a few times as a regular pub ..but have noticed and admired the food so we thought we'd try it..Both thought excellent!...I had bbq pork belly chunks which were melt in the mouth and huge plus chilli which was really good...tho too many nachos for me...my partner had the festive pigs in blankets and the roasted cod loin which he really enjoyed. ..All good portions and excellent value. .Oh..and the biggest 'side salad ' I've ever seen. ..put a can of tuna or some cheese with it it would be a meal!...Lovely attentive staff too..

Fantastic food and reasonably priced

If you are looking for good food this place doesn't disappoint. The pies are homemade, and as good as it gets. The menu is very good, with a bit of everything. Reasonably priced home cooked food by very good chefs.

We were trying to find places to eat in Saddleworth and the Farrars was recommended. We visited twice in a few days. We called and booked ahead of time, I don't know how necessary it was, but the times we arrived there was space. Best to be sure. The choice of food, for a pub menu is nice. Some good, hearty options. The service was friendly and helpful both times. The choice of beers and wines is standard pub stuff. I feel a pub is made by its staff, and they were quick with drinks and requests, glasses cleared quick. If you're after a good pub experience, you have it right here. As for the food, I had the Steak and Ale pie the first visit, the Cheese and Onion the second. They were both delicious, great tasting and good value. The chunky chips were a little undercooked, but nothing inedible. My wife had the fish and chips the first time, her fish was a little too greasy, but the batter was crisp. The slightly undercooked chips bothered her more. On the second visit, she chose the burger. This was a mistake. The burger was not good, it was basically a meatloaf (minced beef with onions ) and had a steamed like texture to it rather than a grilled burger. Considering the other food and the clear talent in the kitchen, odd choice not to try and make a decent burger. A friend with us had the Buffalo wings. These were, by all accounts, incredible. The wings looked fresh, and very meaty. Also, the pizzas were great value, nice and fresh and didn't scrimp on ingredients. When I'm next in the area, the Farrars will definitely be on the list of places to visit.

Dropped in for food as we were passing. We got a warm welcome and felt at home instantly. The menu has a decent and varied selection. The food was blooming lovely! We'll definitely go there again. There's a free car park directly opposite. Well worth a visit.

My son took us for a meal which was arranged for Christmas. We really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and got on great with my 19 month old granddaughter. The food was excellent but be warned. Don't have a lot to eat prior to going. The servings are extremely generous. Would definitely recommend.

Not been for a couple of years, lovely place. Well priced, good drink selection with alcohol free section.

Visited here on Sunday after a nice walk around the reseviour. My partner and I had the roast beef dinner with a cauliflower cheese to share. The roast was nice but meat was a bit over cooked for me, a great cauli cheese overall not bad. My son had a margarita pizza which he said was superb, service great and nice old pub feel.

Meeting family early Saturday evening and a bite to. Hadn't booked a table but got lucky. Great food and good beer had to leave when the live music act tried to out do Def Leppard on the volume front shame I was enjoying the conversation up until that point.

Food was too spicy for me. We were sat outside. The noise from the traffic was awful at times.

A great place, great food and seating outside. Parking directly opposite but leave the car at home and take full advantage of the wide selection of wines, beers and spirits. Monday night is quiz night, great fun, a very likeable host and equally likeable staff. There’s an open night mic on Thursdays if that’s your thing. It’s quite close to Greenfield station, walking uphill so you city centre folks who fancy a change from inflated city centre prices, treat yourself to a trip to the farrars. I recommend it.

The food when it came was lovely, but we waited an hour for it. A couple seated after us, and someone ordering a takeaway, were both served before us and when I queried this I got a brief apology but no explanation. Sadly won't be on our list to return.
