Walked in, sat down. Server saw both of us as he was serving someone next to us, waited possibly 15/20mins for this small bloke to finish his conversation with his work colleague and 2 finished diners, so we got up to leave and he questioned why we were leaving. We said there’s nothing wrong and he then said “so why are you leaving then? Told him in a polite manner we wanted other food, he cheekily answered “hmm okay” to which was very rude and hostile. When told “is that okay with yourself” he replied “it’s you not me!” Small man syndrome sprung to mind. When all we wanted to do was leave. Hope that’s okay with yourself sir.

Not the greatest unfortunately. We went for some lunch and ordered steak sandwich and full english. The breakfast was £14.50 and was very small and came missing the egg, toast was freezing with rock hard butter. For just a sandwich with no side salad or chips was also £14.50 which is very pricey when next door do the exact same for £9.50. No check back was done. Sat waiting 15 minutes for plates to be cleared and still didn’t get cleared so got up and went to pay with plates still on the table.

Very disappointed by what happened when my friend and I visited Weaver and Wilde for the first time last week. A man, who I think might have been the owner, was shouting at one of the young girl waitresses and later I saw her crying outside. I was shocked to see such behaviour and I don’t think it’s right to treat staff that way especially in front of customers, it made for a very uncomfortable lunch. I thought about leaving but had ordered already so I stayed and had lunch. The French Toast was £15.50 - couldn’t believe how expensive it was - I know prices have risen but I’ve never seen anything like it. Anyway, a combination of rude owners and sky high prices means we won’t return. Which is a shame because the food was nice and the building looked lovely. Such a shame to ruin what could have been a nice experience.

A poor experience from booking to food. Tried to book a Christmas meal at the restaurant - told to book on line which we did. Didn't need a solicitous enquiry about whether my friend could manage to do this. We booked & paid a deposit - as requested ordered in advance. Despite receiving an acknowledgement, W&W phoned to say a deposit needed & where was our order. Turned up for our meal to be told lots of cancellations & we were the only ones eating. Felt hurried along so staff could get home - could see our main being plated as we ate our starters which were tasty. Food then hung around as we were out for an evening & didn't want to eat it straight away. Consequently salmon dry - no buerre blanc at all or spinach as advertised until asked for. Never been served salmon with stuffing balls before. Turkey nicely cooked & lots of veg - shame carrots & sprouts over cooked and red cabbage too vinegary. Plentiful but very salty gravy. Puddings good - but cheese board (+£4) disappointing. Many wines not available. Bill came to over £200 for 4 and feel this was poor value for money with no atmosphere. A real shame as we have had food there before which was very good. It just felt joyless.

Went for a steak evening with a friend. The sirloin steak was out of this world ( I’ve since learned that it’s a special type of beef which is carefully and locally sourced. ) The potato dauphinois that accompanied it was hot and very tasty. A really lovely meal. Thank you.

Top notch cafe for breakfast, brunch and lunches and decent tea and coffee. Attentive friendly staff and service. Operates as a bistro from Thursday evening to Sunday. Dog friendly too.

Stopped to have a glance at the menu as decided on Sunday breakfast out. Chatting away to a chap, the owner I think, made to feel very welcome. Good choice of different dishes, decided on the Rarebit and "A Bit Of Both On Toast", which was lovely cheese and homemade baked beans. Both were delicious and good coffee to boot. And our furry companions loved the fussing and the doggie menu! Planning a return visit soon for Sunday lunch!

As regular visitors during the day, we have wanted to visit and sample the evening menu for a while. We weren’t disappointed. Our welcome was warm (as always); service attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. The special treat of the night was the moment the waiter lit the top of the burger bun to create a flame 🔥 grill effect. Thank you for a lovely evening. You know we will be back soon, (probably Sunday morning for our early morning coffee with the dog) xx

Waited over 30 minutes for drinks, only to be told after this time a key ingredient was unavailable. My husband decided we should leave, the owner was rude to him on our departure so feedback was left on here. A response from the owner stated we only waited 7 mins and that he hoped we had resolved our apparent disagreement with each other. Far from it, we were out for an early wedding anniversary celebration breakfast. Shame the owner can’t take constructive feedback when service fails to deliver, however he is known to handle criticism badly. We had lovely food and excellent service at the Reclamation Room. I can highly recommend there

We’ve been to weaver and wild on a few occasions now at various times of the day, every time we’ve been we have always had a brilliant time, from lunch to evening meal or just calling in for a coffee and a sweet treat. It’s always been just that little bit better than it should be.

Had a lovely meal at Weaver & Wilde last night. The steak was one of the best I have ever had. My partner had the salmon he described it as delicious & moist. Catherine

This is a great little spot for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon snack. We called in for breakfast before enjoying some walking and hiking in the local area. Having worked up an appetite, we went back, and although the kitchen was closed, the team were more than happy to put together a chacuterie board for us to enjoy, would 100% recommend Weaver and Wild for a warm welcome, and great and time of the day.

Relaxing atmosphere with good value meals with large portions. The steak rag pudding was delicious with its fat chips, jug of extra gravy and mushy peas. It is a shame that there are no fires especially when its grim outside.

We called in for a couple of drinks and something to eat for a birthday meal. We went to the bar and then found a table with an elderly gentleman sat there alone who was quite happy for us to sit there too. We were browsing the menu for a while and then a waitress came up and said this table is reserved and put a reserved sign on it. We were told we would have to find another seat and the gentleman had to move too. We had no apology and it was quite embarrassing. We couldn't find anywhere else to sit so had to stand. We waited around 20 minutes and still no one had sat at the table we were at. We then left and went for something to eat in Uppermill. We won't be bothering with the Farrars again due to such poor customer service.
