Great food and great experience, a massive thanks to Janet and the girls for looking after us. We were a family party of 10, Janet and the girls were really accommodating, checking everything was OK, taking our orders and mixing and matching to suit us, I had the Sunday lunch, tasty, good portions and loads of veg, not to mention the big yorkies and loads of gravy, some of the others had the pie and all really enjoyed, would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Great cocktail bar, lovely outside garden with wooden seating pods. Lovely cocktails and friendly staff.

Lovely cafe hidden a bit but very nice indeed, shame it was absolutely pouring down as it kept the town very quiet, although it’s outside eating plenty of room to stay dry, definitely worth going as the food great and the owners very welcoming

We called in for a couple of drinks and something to eat for a birthday meal. We went to the bar and then found a table with an elderly gentleman sat there alone who was quite happy for us to sit there too. We were browsing the menu for a while and then a waitress came up and said this table is reserved and put a reserved sign on it. We were told we would have to find another seat and the gentleman had to move too. We had no apology and it was quite embarrassing. We couldn't find anywhere else to sit so had to stand. We waited around 20 minutes and still no one had sat at the table we were at. We then left and went for something to eat in Uppermill. We won't be bothering with the Farrars again due to such poor customer service.

Walked in, sat down. Server saw both of us as he was serving someone next to us, waited possibly 15/20mins for this small bloke to finish his conversation with his work colleague and 2 finished diners, so we got up to leave and he questioned why we were leaving. We said there’s nothing wrong and he then said “so why are you leaving then? Told him in a polite manner we wanted other food, he cheekily answered “hmm okay” to which was very rude and hostile. When told “is that okay with yourself” he replied “it’s you not me!” Small man syndrome sprung to mind. When all we wanted to do was leave. Hope that’s okay with yourself sir.

Absolutely fantastic. My husband had a breakfast which had, as he put it, proper sausage and bacon and perfectly cooked eggs. I had a taste sensation in frangipane crumpets with an orange sauce and almonds. They were amazing. The staff were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Proper tea with tea leaves too. A gem of a find while visiting from overseas. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you Rec Room for a fab breakfast experience. Ps can't add photos we were too busy enjoying our food to take any.

Awful 😞 Not good value for money, terrible service, food is very overpriced. Won’t be going again.

Discovered the Hidden Garden over a year ago now and it’s one of my favourite places to go. Great coffee (no additional charges for milk alternatives), beautiful views and dog friendly! The little treats they serve your dog are an added bonus (no charge either!) my pooch loves a visit. We have been in all weathers, although most of the seating area is outside there are some wonderful covered nooks to curl up with blankets galore and even a pizza stove burning logs to keep you warm in the winter. The cakes and food are delicious and the additional pop up food stalls they host are brilliant. Highly recommend for a cosy catch up away from the high street bustle.

It would have been wonderful to have eaten the food we had booked for, but having arrived at 6pm on Wednesday 12th March with my family a party of 4, for a celebration meal, found instead the restaurant locked and in darkness. We waited and phoned with no answer so had to find an alternative restaurant. Really I would have expected at least a cancellation notification, would be very reluctant to return.

Went with family and granddaughter for lunch. We chose to order for our granddaughter first and for us to eat after. Given the lack of taste, ingredients of her lunch we decided to not order for the adults. If you can’t get a child’s cheese sandwich and fries right there’s no hope for the rest! The sandwich was presented with stale bread, large bread slices, uncut and a few crisp. It certainly didn’t look appetising and it didn’t taste it either. Our coffees and hot chocolates were average too. I like to support local businesses but Abaco you really need to improve. There is lots of competition in Uppermill

We come in every couple of weeks or so for either a family meal or for a quick bite on a Friday evening and often have the steak or the cheese pie. The staff are super helpful, the food is always spot on and the chef always cooks my steak to perfection. There’s a couple of staff who really stand out, they are always do something whether it’s preparing more cutlery boxes, cleaning tables or sorting condiments. They are a credit to the establishment and thoroughly deserve their tips.

Had been walking around Dovestones and went for lunch at The Clarence. Apparently under new ownership. We opted for fish chips and peas from the daytime menu. It was absolutely spot on! The fish was pure white and the batter crisp. All freshly cooked to order. I don't think it could be "bettered". This was followed by strawberry cheesecake for me and lemon tart for my wife. Both ten out of ten. All for 26 quid. Nice one! To the New Owner... "I'll be back" :)

Went to the Muse for a work's party. The food was really good, and the service was quick, considering it was Mad Friday. I found the bathroom tiling to be a herringbone effect with 4mm black grout (7/10). It happened to be a Pride party, which was quite entertaining.
