It was a Friday night at 9.30pm and Euro 2024 was on when we went in. We expected it to be packed with the Friday night crowd watching the football but to our amazement there was only our party of 4 plus one more chap in there!! There were 2 ladies who served us who were very pleasant. The beer was decent, the room is clean & well decorated but let's hope it has busier times than this through the week, otherwise I fear the worst!

Friendly, efficient staff serve excellent tea and coffee - a very high standard. It's a unique place: go out of your way to visit it.

We were waiting exactly an hour for our order. When it arrived we discovered the quality of the food was not the same as it used to be. The chips were like cardboard and almost cold, the cheese and onion pie which I was my favourite turned out to be a small round pie with barely any filling instead of the succulent pie that was cut into squares from a large rectangle pie with lots of filling and pastry that melted in the mouth. The chips used to be square cut steak chips and really delicious. The burgers were terrible and the buns they were in were hard to bite through. It was a birthday treat and I recommended the place because my last visit there was enjoyable and the food first class as was the service. Unfortunately checks & Greys have chosen to downgrade the food and the service, which is a really bad move on their part because we won’t be visiting it again. I was left feeling totally let down after having praised the food and the service only to discover it had been down graded. Why would anyone choose to change something that was excellent into something that is now sub standard and lose customers. Since my visit I have heard many bad reviews from acquaintances and friends, I only wish I had known before booking a table for twelve of us on my birthday then we could have booked somewhere else instead.

i first discovered leavers when the were on audley in 1975 i bought a hand glazed meat pie and a vanilla slice i was now hooked i still buy from friendly efficient very knowledgeable staff at leavers

Visited today and also last time ,when the Artisan market was on.I was treating a friend to lunch .We both opted for ploughman’s .When it arrived ,it consisted of Two tiny wedges of cheese , two slices of ham,with lettuce and tomato.Two tiny tubs of coleslaw and branstan pickle and sliced bread.We had already waited over 20 mins .After we had started eating we were each given a bag of crisps ,recently bought from a local shop.Disappointed

I come here a few mornings a week on my way to work. The staff are so friendly and the sandwiches are delicious!! Thankyou again.

On sunday , me and my partner came here as it was one of the only cafes to be open. Weve never been before. Food was great . We both got bacon cheeseburger with chips and gravy. We went back today , he got a new yorker and i got a belly buster burger. Great price for a good amount of food , the burgers are massive !! Also..... not just the food, but its really nice to be served by genuinely nice down to earth people. cheap and cheerful, fantastic customer service, deffinatly service with a smile! what more do ya really need ?!!

Stopped here for a quick sandwich before getting back to work, the tuna and cheese panini was top class! Would highly recommend this place, also bought one of their bounty cheese cakes which didn’t disappoint, one of the best I’ve ever had! Will be visiting here again. Thank you

Popped in about 2pm only to find very little available for lunch, were offered sandwiches. Only one soup left, no jacket potatoes. Sandwiches were very bland & tasteless, I had tuna, hubby had ham & egg, not impressed. Finished off with cheese scone, very dry, not lot of flavour. All in all not impressed. By 2pm there should be more available especially on a Saturday.

Me and my partner of 3 years scrambled to this cracking semi new restaurant, we heard of it through a friend. Needless to say, it was nothing shy of eggcellent and surprisingly busy for a fryday. Hearing the raving reviews, we were worried they would poach us from our previous favourite! But yes, they have! I recommend the twice folded whisked egg with roasted root vegetables. Delicioso! Artisan Cafe hosted my parents’ evening reception after tying the knot over the weekend!! 💒 The team accommodated for our tight schedule to surprise our parents. Thank you for going above and beyond to meet our wishes. The ladies on the bar were fab 🫶🏻 We’ll hopefully see you again in the future🥂

Reassuringly and consistently disappointing, so much so our most recent visit to the store will be the last. I understand M&S have had to undertake cost cutting measures, so the store and business stay alive, but it's really noticeable with every visit, less and less of the good M&S is visible. I know businesses do need to change, but the store is a mile away from the core values M&S had. Especially the cafe , the cost cutting is far too noticeable.... regardless if they are reducing the things they need to wash ( probably so they can do without an extra person employed) but impacting the environment using disposable products instead. Very short sighted

Fantastic family run pub. Great selection of real ales. Great atmosphere, a place where you can enjoy time with family or friends and socialise. Great outdoor beer garden area which is fantastic on a sunny warm day. Lovely staff, great beer!
