Marks and Spencer Cafe Blackburn in Blackburn with Darwen

Reassuringly and consistently disappointing, so much so our most recent visit to the store will be the last. I understand M&S have had to undertake cost cutting measures, so the store and business stay alive, but it's really noticeable with every visit, less and less of the good M&S is visible. I know businesses do need to change, but the store is a mile away from the core values M&S had. Especially the cafe , the cost cutting is far too noticeable.... regardless if they are reducing the things they need to wash ( probably so they can do without an extra person employed) but impacting the environment using disposable products instead. Very short sighted

Really happy with the service here, the staff are all really friendly and approachable. Its great to shop and know that their is someone on hand to help and advise if needed. I have shopped here for many, many years and find this particular M & S to be one of the best. Thanks for a great experience!

Great place to shop as it's right next to the multi-storey car park and the bus station is just a five minute walk away. Popped to the menswear department as I needed some new undies! The cafe is clean and sells a good, strong coffee.

I really enjoy shopping at M&S Blackburn. The atmosphere is most pleasant and the Staff so kind. Please put chairs for the people who really need to sit whilst they are buying.

Good but expensive food and home products

Bought an item that needed exchanging, went in store to pick the correct the item, bought the item home open the bag and still the wrong item. Very poor customer service when I called in, and for the price we pay at M&S you'd think they would get an order right. Not happy at all.

Rude with no sympathy or will to look beyond what the ‘computer says’. Poor customer service from the manager (Laura) whilst commenting ‘Jesus Christ’ whilst we was walking away. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional.

Very rude staff does not want to sell a dinner set and other items which were on sale. I even saw them online on m&s for the same price. Waste of time.

Dissapointed today with dirty tables and floor. No excuse, as not busy at all and seemingly enough staff. Surprised at the drop in standards for M&S. £5 for two cups of tea is pretty steep!

M&S never disappoints! Ordered some party food online and collected in store. The whole process was extremely simple and straightforward, and the food was delicious

I got a salted Caramel Frappe it had no Coffee at all. I am a little confused how this is a Frappe? In my world I would suggest for the menu it is a milkshake. So why did I not complain I hear you all ask. The staff had said they were short staffed I saw 4 staff working the cafe with 15 people sat in the cafe eating and a couple at the till. How the world has changed. Plus my milkshake/frappe was very good. I use to run a bar with 1 staff with over 100 people in. M&S I could train your staff and triple your throughput. Sadly I am not available. Customer is king.

Excellent customer service at the children's till on Friday afternoon - nice that people still take the time to talk to customers and leave a good impression of the store.

I didn’t give full five stars because the automated telephone service is a nightmare. It was impossible to phone in advance to let you know we were running late.

The store and items deserve over 2 stars, unfortunately the plain clothed security is my reason for today's low ranking. I visited a few days ago, before entering I saw said security come from M&S fire exit to speak with a staff member, we walk inside and he followed, we picked up an order as my friend and I was browsing I noticed his staring and following me. Obviously security are there for a reason, but I felt uneasy (not to mention him making it obvious he was security). So after several minutes I approached him and asked him to stop following me, he laughed and called me paranoid, within 1 min of calling me paranoid a staff member approached him calling him by name and speaking about products. Again im aware the store needs security but making loyal customers feel uneasy and unwelcome is out if order

Very good store I visit the food department and find it very good alway clean and tidy and staff are alway very polite and smart

ON MONDAY 19th OCTOBER 1200noon my wife and myself were doing some shopping in this store but unfortunately on paying for our purchases the pay system went down so they could not give us a receipt at that moment ( as wife always likes a receipt) the gentleman who served us was apologetic asked to have a coffee in the restaurant after 15minutes it was all sorted.The gentleman who served us was a credit to M&S well manerd and pleasant especially in these times 👍👍

Store was relatively empty. Inwas returning a product. The member of staff who helped me was friendly and quick.

A very convenient store in the centre of town, with a mix of clothing, groceries and refreshments on the menu. I visit this place on a very regular basis and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff are attentive and friendly, and the place is very neat and well maintained. It is a tad more expensive than a few other stores in the town but the quality of the goods is above par. Recommended

Extremely rude cashier, who thinks she's above the rest, if you want more customers to shop at this store, you need to change the attitude of your staff, completely put off shopping here

Dirty trays on every table and seats no one collecting not even wiping tables but still serving you your order to your dirty table.. Taken two used trays back already.. Get your act together..

Really enjoy the sweet treats from the fresh bakery, yum! The cheesecake are not bad either 😉.

Shopping for food on Thursdays means most BB dates are same or next day. Shopping for the weekend is really difficult. Staff are helpful and pleasant.

First time in a while here, good pot of tea and tried the fish finger sandwich. For M and S, I thought the choice of bread was poor, the salad leaves would have been better 'on the side', and perhaps some tartare sauce. Nice staff and good service tho'.

Went too use my Christmas vouchers, found three things so a very nice shopping trip , the cafe i have used a number of time and always found everything i have eaten or drink to be good .

I always enjoy a cost to m&s love the cloths also they have a great cheese&onion pie

Visited twice this week. Nice selection of fresh food available as well as hot and cold drinks. The first time I had the ham and cheese toasty with a latte both very nice. Today I went for the chichen, mushroom and rice soup which came with 2 soft rolls. The soup was very tasty and would definitely recommend it. Plenty of seating available. Plenty of staff. Very clean and the tables was cleared and cleaned quickly once people left.

Rubbish code not accepted at til gift voucher had to be printed out after getting all groceries not happy.

I thought it was going to be expensive but even though I was buying vegetarian food, it was reasonably priced. The gentleman at the till was speedy and friendly.

When I shop here for food, I try to remind myself that I'm only here for a few bits but I always end up spending more than I should, especially at Christmas! I particularly like their pigs in blankets, Hovis original bread, cottage cheese, free-range chickens and cake selection. Good gluten free section too. Their greetings card selection though small (and expensive) contains some quirky and unusual designs which makes them a bit more special. I don't buy clothing from here but I used to buy shoes, but unfortunately the quality has declined recently.

This place will be shutting... Walked in and no staff on the womenswear whatsoever. Marks and Sparks wonders why it has fallen on hard times? It is because you have got 'bums on seats' to do a boring job and the calibre of staff is more 'Bull n Bush' than what was once a 'Premium' shopping experience.
