Lovely clean cafe. Reasonable prices. Friendly service. Meal took a long time coming after being told after twenty minutes that my order was not available! My latte was very strong, would not order it again. My hot pork sandwich was nice but the salad garnish was ruined with far too much dressing. My husbands Caesar salad had far too much raw onion in it.

Got twice on take aways first one items missing ,second over an hour late very poor letting them down as food is good when you eventually get it.

Ordered a custom and a full lancashire breakfast, looked great, good quality, would have been nice if they were hotter. Service was good great friendly staff

There were 19 of us in our group. The staff were brilliant and really looked after us well. The food was excellent and served efficiently to the entire group. The system for paying was also very efficient (this isn't always the case in other places!). On that note the food was also very reasonable, especially for the quality. The entire experience was super for us. We would highly recommend Checks and Greys. Thank you to the team working on 30th December.

How fantastic, highly recommended, Christmas party in the Crypt @ Blackburn Cathedral, organised and hosted by Checks & Greys, who knew this was even a thing? And it was available to book, our party of 8 were all very impressed, fabulous food, amazing ambience, cracking singer /entertainment and DJ, staff impeccable, this place is an absolutely unforgettable experience in a very good way, if you get the chance, go for it, but don't tell too many people, I wanna be able to book again next year, just fabulous !!

Very disappointed as usually the cafe is an excellent venue however this lunchtime visit was not as expected. The service was not good as the staff seemed to be low in numbers and overworked. The food was not the usual high quality. The bacon sandwich was undercooked fatty bacon on a sourdough roll which was not appetising. The cold cheese sandwich was very unappealing when it came. The scone was dreadful as very hard and served cold. The cafe was packed to capacity as all tables occupied which is a good sign but I was disappointed by our visit experience.

Our first visit to Checks and Greys cafe but we will certainly be returning it was excellent the food was very good and I would recommend the cheese and onion pie it was delicious. The staff were helpful and friendly and the cafe had a nice atmosphere.

Checks and Greys provided teas, coffees and lunch for a large National team meeting for my work (a National funding agency) attended by colleagues from across England. The staff were pure gold - so organised, reliable, friendly and amenable. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious and they provided a wide range of options to cater to a lot of different dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten free etc). Can’t recommend them enough!

Great to see the restaurant busy with customers; good food, good service, good prices. Parking very handy on Jubilee St. The cakes looked delightful. Comfortable surroundings

Came for a quick bite to eat before we went shopping on Saturday. A good amount of staff on they were all busy doing little jobs. I was able to place an order straight away and I was able to swop items on my breakfast. I am very fussy so it’s good they could cater for me. There was something for all my family my partner had the all in one butty it was huge and my little one had the buttermilk pancakes with syrup and white stuff on top it looked great. It came out quickly and with no issues. We will be back.

1st visit. Excellent service from Stacey. Lovely ambience. Superb coffee made for the cafe and can also be purchased. Attended with ladies group outing. Would recommend vising.

Hands down the breakfast around. The poached eggs are unreal. We've been here several times now and it's always been excellent. The staff have always been really lovely too. Will continue to find reasons to go to Blackburn instead of Burnley just so I can go for poached egg on toast.

This café used to be really busy but there were only two occupied tables when we went at lunchtime - then we found out why! Very slow service. I don’t carry a stopwatch but I estimate 20/25 minutes for a bowl of soup and a toastie. By the time they arrived my coffee had gone cold. The toastie was limp and tepid so I assume had been sitting waiting to be served and my wife left her soup altogether as she likened it to coloured water. Our experience was not enhanced by an employee mopping the floor with brown water right next to us! Talk about ambience!! Something’s wrong here. I hope they can sort it soon.
