This was for a 21st birthday there was 11 of us and we pre-ordered - one of the starters was no longer on the menu so I messaged them with another option got a really nice response - however I realised I had ordered garlic bread instead of cheese garlic bread the message was read but not put through to the kitchen - the garlic bread was solid you could balance an empty pint glass on it - one of the steaks was ordered as rare and was cremated on outside pink in middle and full of fat - the other steak was medium to well and was so cremated you couldn't even cut through it - half the meals were nice the other half were awful at no point did any staff ask if the meals were OK when I mentioned it when paying all the staff could say was sorry about that

We visited whilst on holiday, staying in borrowdale, we have been eating in the hotel but thought we’d venture into Keswick for a meal out. The Kings arms was SO disappointing, food was terrible and the service was even worse. We’d have had a better meal at Wetherspoons! We had to ask for menus as the waitress did not give us any, the wait for food was ages and when our food arrived it was bland, clearly frozen Yorkshire puddings and frozen veg. As this hotel was part of the Lake District group we expected good things but this place was so disappointing, staff were rude and did not care about their customers and food was absolutely crap. Avoid!

Amazing find! Ate here last night after staying in Rosthwaite and having limited options as we had not booked anywhere in advance. We were greater by really friendly staff, a cosy informal atmosphere and a great menu. I am usually a bit dubious about pub fish and chippy, usually preferring to go to an actual chippy, but WOW! They were amazing! We were both really impressed. Great portions after a day walking in Borrowdale and so so tasty. Good range of beers on tap too.

Price versus quality was majorly off balanced. 2 out of the 3 staff that served us, looked, for want of a better word miserable, probably due to poor management, in my opinion staff morale is the responsibility of the management. The humble jacket potato was hard in parts and overall was unenjoyable and I left half. The coffee Renoir (that was £4.50) was dry, and didn’t taste of coffee. The cappuccino was not hot enough, there was no ice for our soft drink and it was room temperature. All in all far too much money for the quality. Disappointing

Coffe was good and order taken swiftly but other than that it was not a great dining experience I’m afraid. I ordered poached eggs, they arrived lukewarm and hard. Butter had been put on hot plate and had seeped out leaving a puddle of liquid on the plate Partner had English breakfast which was dried up. No one came to ask if all was ok and we didn’t have the energy to start complaining! We just know for the future

Nice premises serving quality food went in for brekkie namely full english and eggs bendict, I did give 3 observations on leaving, got lots of nodding, which probably means I ain't paying attention. But here they are. 1,Full english served like a stacked burger all on top of your toast which is immediately nice and soggy. Might be trendy but a really naff idea. 2.Tea served with oversize teabag level drops 25% when you remove it, you feel cheated plus you have nowhere to park this dripping mess. A small dish for waste teabags would solve this rather than trying to use the saucer. 3.When you have brekkie most people want 2/3 cups but they charge per cup at £2.20 We limited ourselves to 2 but would have preferred 3 especially when you lose so much on bag removal. Ended paying £8.80 of £25+bill for tea. I suggest take lesson from Tate Liverpool cafe. Apart from that great quality, loved the bacon
