Lovely setting and atmospere. Went with family and grandchildren, food was lovely, service great. They even gave my grandson a toy for having nice manners, which was really nice of them.

We called in today for brunch, 3 adults and one child. We received a very warm welcome and seated in a booth. It's a large, bright airy room, lots of families with young children and babies which it all seems well set up for. Our order was quickly taken and paid for at the time. The food and drinks arrived promptly - breakfast barms, toast, coffee and cold drinks. It was all very good. The serving staff were excellent, and it really was a pleasure to meet them. We went to meet the farm animals on our way out and agreed that Hayloft is a lovely place to visit and we'll definitely be back.

Hoping the pancakes are going to be cheaper than usual , when you have 3 kids who want pancakes on pancake day is very expensive . You are charging over £7 per person for pancakes . That is a rip off. Lower your pricing please.

Wouldn't even bother if it's just two of you. Got seated straight away, however once we'd been seated no one came to us. Or even gave us eyecontact so we could ask to order. Didn't even take drinks orders. Waiters ran round to every other table with families who'd turned up well after us and took their orders instantly. Got to the point of no return and we left in the end, without even an apology from staff. I understand that hospitality can be chaotic, but it doesn't take a minute to keep customers in the loop and apologise for any delays. Although staff were constantly running around cleaning tables, the whole place needed a good scrub and was looking quite scruffy. The table we were given was still covered in crumbs. Very expensive menu for pretty basic items. Jacket potatoes were £8.95 (a pretty noticeable difference between the £7.50 advertised online!) All in all its not a win for me, and I certainly won't be returning.

We have visited twice recently and both times I’ve been disappointed. Halloween- way overpriced pumpkins, a spooky maze that was full of broken props, £1 for a corn on the cob you feed a cow! (Just 1) pumpkin/welly wash not working, train that only lasts a few minutes and doesn’t slow down to look at anything? Visited tonight (booked in September otherwise wouldn’t have bothered) let in 10 minutes late, wrote a list, scooped reindeer food in to a plastic cone, listened to a Father Christmas tell a very random story for a few minutes, asked if we wanted a professional photo with him (he didn’t ask my child anything just a photo!), went round the corner and they tried to charge us £6.50 for the photo I could have taken! Then onto a train which took 30 seconds into the car park! That’s your lot. In and out in 30 minutes for £30! Shocking. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Getting the most money off you for doing the bare minimum. Should be ashamed.

Waste of money. I felt ripped off. Cheap and tacky, £19.00 per child plus ticket cost of over £1 each. £7 for adults, for what??? 40 second train ride. £3 toy. I felt sorry for the elves. Don't waste your money here, put it straight into a charity bucket for a worthy cause, not this penny pinching, pathetic experience. We ate elsewhere, as they have had as much of my money as I was prepared to give. Professional photographer was extra. My grandsons, my daughter and myself were totally underwhelmed.

Santa experience. I don’t usually leave bad reviews but this was very poor. £55 for 2 adults a 2 year old and 4 year old with not much to show for it. Parking was a quagmire, cars were getting stuck and the steward did nothing to help- we had to push each other out. Made reindeer food and posted a letter to Santa then went through to a big barn where there was a pointless story about penguins and a picture with Santa in front of everyone else. I expected a private room for the family to meet Santa like other places do. It was made difficult to take your own photos and it was an extra £6.50 for 7x5 photo!! Santa didn’t even ask what the children wanted for Christmas! Then a very short trip on a train back to the car park. My 4 year old said on the way home- ‘when are we meeting father christmas?’ Go to Quarry Bank instead- cheaper and more professional. Feels like a complete rip off

We bought ice creams and drinks from the café whilst at the Hayloft for pumpkin picking and whilst the ice creams were nice, they were overpriced for the amount served. My daughter's ice cream was tiny, literally one scoop but a small one at that, with sprinkles, sauce & a flake it came to a massive £4.60 😩 It's the same ice cream which is served in the ice cream parlour in Calderstones park; whilst their prices are similar (although I don't think they charge for sprinkles) you get a decent amount of ice cream in a one scoop cone. If we go back to the Hayloft I'll definitely be avoiding the ice cream next time!

As a family we visit for lunch quite regularly. Food is average but ok. Staff always a bit eager to clear tables, please wait until everyone has finished eating before collecting plates. Nice venue, friendly staff but food and coffee was average at best. We ordered and paid at the point of ordering and within about 2 minutes the food was being served at our table, the fastest service I've ever experienced, but not in a good way. Clearly the food is sat on hot plates in the kitchen and it's obvious that's it's not made to order when it arrives that quickly. The food was ok, nothing special, but nice enough. The coffee was poor, for the prices and the surroundings I'd expect freshly brewed coffee. It's a nice setting for a catch up with friends but there's nicer food available in Warrington and definitely nicer coffee! Vandal in Palmyra square has excellent food and coffee if your looking for good quality and a nice setting.

Afternoon Tea- Wonky cake stand, dull as dishwater sandwiches and at £22 per head,we may as well have been served by staff in masks and striped tops. Despite being told about a tweenager attending, the child’s version (£11) arrived. Four triangles of low-grade white bread, roughly sliced rubbber cheese plonked on a plate with two mini-doughnuts a carton of apple juice and a tiny paper dish for ice- cream afterwards. Needless to say, it went down like a lead balloon and they are not a fussy eater. After speaking to Supervisor, three complimentary lattes arrived and a pizza sub( glad we never paid £4:50 for it) All in all, underwhelming disappointment. Overpriced, poor presentation and certain senior staff didn’t appear to appreciate the displeasure at their attempt at Afternoon Tea. Will be returning to Bents, well worth the extra £2:95 for real adult portions.

We recently celebrated our wedding at The Hayloft and couldn't recommend it more highly! The venue itself has a great rustic but modern vibe, and your booking includes access to all of the outdoor gardens and barn, as well as the main building. We had some incredible photos shot in and around the site. The food and service were both excellent, and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Lesley and the rest of her team were incredible in assisting us in arranging whatever we wanted and ensuring that everything ran smoothly. Nothing was too much. Thank you very much!!

Great potential but not there yet. We were up in the loft area. Like the main floor it was extremely noisy and you can only hear the people immediately next to you. The 'chairs' up there are very narrow and are the size of junior school chairs. They felt more like a stool because of how they made you sit. They were very uncomfortable. The cakes were nice but the bread on some of the sandwiches was hard and stale. The toilets were nicely decorated but they were not very clean. When I went on the way out 2.5 hours later they were in the same state as when I arrived. They weren't disgusting but it did put me off wanting to use them. The animals outside and the railway are fantastic for young children. The staff were lovely but overall we were left disappointed.

A lovely rural setting with animals and activities for children. All of this comes at a price though - over £16 for 2 hot drinks and 2 very stale small scones with packet jam and cream - its very poor value. The noise inside the place is horrendous as it does not have much in the way of soft furnishings to absorb the high levels of decibels, even the chairs are metal. One can feel that they've suddenly gone deaf when they walk out of the place, it really is that bad......and i have poor hearing! But overall not a great experience and perhaps with improvement by management and some expert advice on sonic design consideration, then it could be much improved. Oh and of course the prices, the prices!

We're so happy that we picked the Hayloft for our wedding. Such a beautifully rustic venue which had everything we needed to make our day special. Lesley and Ann and the rest of the team were simply amazing. They remembered every detail that we had discussed, and made the day run so smoothly. They were calm, extremely efficient and smiled throughout. It happened to be my mum's birthday that day too, and as soon as Lesley realised (during the speeches), she disappeared and came back with a candle in a piece of cake. Attention to detail - perfect! The meals for 70 people were served so that everybody was eating almost at the same time, the food was hot and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. It was the BEST of days. Thank you Lesley and everyone at the Hayloft! xxx

This was our first vist the lady on the door was very nice and pleasant she showed us to our table explained how you ordered Then I older lady bit grumpy took our order two hot drinks and toastie and told us there would be a little wait because they were changing breakfast menu over to lunch 20mins it took to arrive for a cheese and ham toastie the restaurant wasn’t even busy we was sat next to the window so having a good look around the place it’s filthy dead bugs and flies on the window sill food and spillages on the walls dirty chairs and tables the tables are made from wood not treated so all food stains on them you think the place would have had a good clean and make over in lock down and when they closed with a case of Covid when the food came it was nothing special for the price and my hot chocolate was Luke warm don’t think I will be returning

Visited today after pumpkin picking - queued to get in (no issue) but the woman on the gate said oh have you been pumpkin picking, oh you’ve not been on the train yes you have to pay for that don’t you sarcastically. Once inside we ordered and were told as brekkie just changed over to lunch we had to order drinks only then raise the flag to order again in ten mins when the chef had caught up - erm how about you come back in ten mins to take our food order?! We reluctantly ordered two cokes for the time being and after 20 mins we got up and requested a refund in the end (we’d had our flag up as requested by them but it was just ignored). Also perhaps even more concerning was they allowed a group bigger than 6 to sit together (they’d shown them to two tables next to each other but then did nothing when they migrated back to one table).

This was my first visit to The Hayloft and a Birthday treat for my friend. We had afternoon tea for 2 fussy eaters and they couldn’t have been more accommodating bringing extra sandwich’s, plenty of good cakes too ! Staff were attentive and friendly. We felt very safe with the COVID system that was in place. We sat inside and my only very minor negative is that the building style makes any noise seem really loud.

We have visited the hayloft today for a birthday treat for my little sister who has downs syndrome. Upon arrival we were shown to our table after scanning the NHS app and when we realised my sister was unable to sit properly on the chairs a lovely young man swiftly went upstairs and got her a comfortable chair to sit in. The lady who served us Ann couldnt do enough for us she was absolutely fantastic!! The afternoon tea was absolutely beautiful plenty of sandwiches and a selection of cakes and scones. At all points we felt safe and secure and they had excellent procedures in place for covid. We really enjoyed our time here and Ann and the young man (I'm sorry I didnt get your name) made us feel very welcome and more importantly made my sister feel so special on her birthday! We will definitely be back, thank you so much to everyone at the hayloft the staff and customer service was amazing especially in these difficult times.

Myself and partner are weekly regulars here. We walked down for a sunny Sunday afternoon ice cream with the dog and understandably it was busy, every table was either taken or had rubbish on. We carefully sat on a table that had rubbish on, being mindful not to touch anything and patiently waited for it to be cleared. We were greeted by Sian, the manager, with a sarcastic remark of ‘are you not worried this has COVID on’ to which I replied ‘yes, exactly why we haven’t touched anything’. We were then told we need to go inside to track and trace, whilst my partner was trying to scan the code for the track and trace app. Not entirely sure why I would to risk myself going indoors when we can scan on the app.All in all, terrible and embarrassing experience from the manager and poor organisation and set up...quite worrying actually in the current climate. There needs to be someone on the entrance gate, rather than trying to figure it out for yourself and to then have a standoff confrontation due to poor guidance. Safe to say, we didn’t feel comfortable to stay due to the rude welcoming from Sian and attempt to embarrass us.

So, heard good things, thought I’d invite an associate and try it out.Nice venue. Friendly staff.Ordered the English breakfast at £5 odd and a standard Lavazza coffee at £2.80.Waitress came to our table after 15 mins “have you ordered” such and such?Said yes.Food came Luke warmOne sausage, one bacon, one egg, one so-called hash brown ( some pale microwaved potato ) a small pot with 35 baked beans it and a tomato. Oh and 2 half slices of white toast with clarified melted butter.Coffee was gone in 6 sips.Plate pre warming and larger portions with unlimited tea coffee and toast would be good.I’ll stick to local Greene King pub for buffet breakfast.Overpriced imho.

Covid has brought smaller plates and therefore smaller portions , why ? You can buy an extra sausage so why? Confusing. Don’t go with the reduced menu rubbish. This place is always great and top service.Very clean and staff top notch. Would recommend but still perplexed over the small brekkie. We still go here but it’s greatly reduced.

A brought my son and mum here today and didnt know what to expect with everything going on at the moment but I felt very safe being there, everything they have put in place is excellent. The food was amazing and the service was excellent, the place was full and staff were busy but still always had time to check on us and make sure we didnt need anything. I would highly recommend. If I was to say 1 bad thing it would be there maybe needs to be more kitchen staff to help with all the food orders as there can be a bit of a delay but well worth waiting for. Special thanks to Sian for looking after us she works very hard and is very friendly and helpful.

I visited The Hayloft for lunch and ice cream. It was really confusing when you arrived as you needed to queue at a seperate door first to sign in for track & trace. There were plenty of tables outside but there was a lack of umbrellas considering the weather. They had plenty of staff but only one person was taking all the orders on his own and we were there for nearly 2 hours. We only had a jacket potato & toastie but the standard wasn't very high. The only good thing was the discount that we can currently claim for.The ice cream was very nice was very nice and definitely the highlight.

Beyond disappointed by the level of service at the hayloft today. Arrived and waited at the door for a table, we were happy to wait as the place was super busy. Luckily the rain had stopped so we grabbed an ice cream as we waited outside. After a 10/20 minute wait for our table we were seated and had the new way of ordering explained to us, you have to pop a little flag up on your table when you’re ready to order. So we decided what we wanted and popped up our flag. 3 older ladies were taking orders and flew past us several times, ignoring us. We sat and waited. Another 20 minutes goes by and someone finally came over and acknowledged that we had been waiting a long time but the wait for food would be even longer. We said that was fine as we had just had an ice cream to keep us going and were happy to wait. The response to that was “no, you’ll be waiting a really long time”. And then the lady ran off to the kitchen. She came back and told us that we would be waiting 45 minutes and that we could only order cake and ice cream. I explained that we had already had an ice cream and we’re happy to wait for the food but then said that we could no longer order anything. By this point a large queue had formed at the door, so when we got up to leave I told the lady (who was very helpful) seating people that she might want to explain to the queue that they were unable to order food before seating them. She had no idea. Poor communication and a waste of a day.

Lovely little place and I’ve always enjoyed the food but they really need to sort the wasp situation out.We all appreciate sitting outside when the sun is out that you’ll be bothered by the odd insect but this place in summer is a joke! I’ve been here numerous times and whilst I can’t fault the food etc, sitting outside is hard work! You simply can’t enjoy your food because of the amount of wasps.

very disappointed with the quality of food. All seemed warmed up not fresh at all after waiting over 50 mins and then a meal didnt come the staff are very nice but having to ask for evey single condiments at your table is just ridiculous requested a full refund due to the above and was given £10 serious improvements needed in this place such a shame as the location and staff are great !
