Simply not worth it staff talk about there life's more than there customers means for a simple pie which had.. mushroom bigger than the so called meat , bland and a puff pasty top 👊. Served with plastic micro wave mash nice that will be £19 quid 😂

Popped in for a couple of drinks. Had the rose prosecco which was gorgeous, looked at the menu and decided to stay for our evening meal, ordered a selection of food all of which was lovely. It was quiet due to it being a Tuesday so very relaxed and no rush, afterwards we had another bottle in the bar. Very pleasant evening

Stayed at the attached hotel and ate here and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food presentation and welcoming staff! Two course meal couldn’t manage the desert despite them looking appealing.

Walked in and was going to eat but that plan was dashed at the first hurdle…. The place smelt damp and the guy behind the bar was so unwelcoming and rude when we bought drink…. Needless to say we didn’t eat, won’t be going back…

Absolutely fantastic food so stress free. Despite us having our wedding in a remote part of the lakes it was no bother for Matt the chef. The guests loved the food and I loved the easiness of it all and it was great value. Would highly recommend for an event I will be using this service again it was a crowd pleaser. Thanks Matt for all your hard work on the day.

Outside Catering. We had a dinner for 20 adults in Dalton in Furness for a couple of big birthdays. Matt from the Townhouse served us some lovely food. A lovely beef chilli, a great vegetarian lasagne and a superb vegan chick pea curry. Thank you Matt for helping to make our birthdays a wonderful event. Cheers Richard

We had a mixed group when we went to the Townhouse with some oldies and lots of youngies. Basically the youngies liked it here and the oldies couldnt wait to leave! I was one of the "love it here" people. Music is really good and dancey the drinks are nice and well made. We found somewhere to sit and half of us stayed until past midnight.

Dropped in for a few drinks while walking around Barrow. Very tidy and clean venue, not been here before and the service was very good. No cask beer but the lager options were very good and well looked after. Wine was very good as well, apparently.

Really enjoyed my fish and chips. Cocktails were also good. Servers all polite. One of the nicer establishments in barrow in Furness.

We hired the mezzanine for a surprise 50th party, it is the perfect space for around 30-35 people, lovely atmosphere, seating. Food was lovely we had pie and peas all hot. Access to the bar and restrooms was easy. Overall a lovely night enjoyed by all.

I wish I could give this restaurant zero stars, because it was the worst dining experience of my life. The food was bland, cold, and microwaved. My starter consisted of frozen vegetables in uncooked batter. My heavily pregnant friend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs only to find the meatballs were raw. She sent her dish back and did not feel comfortable enough to order another meal due to the issues we experienced. We also ordered a pizza which came out 10 minutes after all the other mains and was so undercooked that the dough was still raw. Just as I didn’t think this experience could get worse, my friend whose hen party we were out celebrating started to feel sick. As it transpires the restaurant had not prepared the food correctly and my friend who has a gluten allergy had indeed been given a dish with gluten in. We complained to the manager, who was like dear in the headlights only told be advised he was not actually the manager and that the restaurant manager was not available. We were promised that the head chef would call us to apologise but that didn’t happen. I’m not surprised as a microwave can not pick up the phone and speak. We left feeling sick and angry, and vowed never to return to this awful restaurant. This ruined my friend’s special celebration.

Had a mocktail masterclass and meal at the Townhouse for my daughter’s 12th birthday and honestly could not fault anything. Accommodated such a large group of girls no problem! The whole afternoon was brilliant, excellent service with the meals and the food was lovely! Special mention has to go to Aaron who looked after our group so well, from making the mocktails with them all to making sure all our meals were out. Always checking everything was ok and doing as much as he possibly could. He made the afternoon run so smoothly, we are so grateful! Aaron is a credit to the Townhouse team! Special thanks also to Matt for looking after our booking!

AVOID this place at all cost !!! No exaggeration I have never eaten anywhere with as many mistakes as this place. Me and my friends chose to eat here as it stated on the menu it offered gluten free options, upon arrival we all ordered starters and mains, all the starters arrived eventually.... then onto the mains !!! a heavily pregnant friend was served two lots of filthy cutlery starts to eat her food to find the meatballs where completely raw, we had frozen vegetables served,a pizza that looked like it hadn't even entered the oven and then the icing on the cake my gluten free friend had started to get a severe reaction, which made it quiet clear to us her food had been contaminated with gluten in some way ! by this point I couldn't keep my cool and asked to speak to the manager the waiter came back to tell me the manager wasnt available at this time , he was very unhelpful and made my friend feel as though she was an alien for being gluten intolerant, we where told we would be contacted by the Head chef which has never happened, if you can't serve food to people how it SHOULD be served then don't bother ! these are serious mistakes ! I would definitely advice the restaurant to bring in a new chef and to train their waiters/waitresses how to treat customers. Wouldn't dine here again if I was paid to.

Firstly our starters arrived and one of the Vegan starters were still frozen!. Then I was given a dirty fork, I asked for some clean cutlery which was replaced with another dirty fork, she then replaced it with a clean folk no napkin or knife. When we received our mains, one of the party was still eating her starter and they tried to give her the main. I had spaghetti and meatballs when I cut into the first meatball it was still RAW! Which is major worrying especially being heavily pregnant. One main didn’t turn up, then we were told the pizza wasn’t cooked properly and the middle had fallen out. When the pizza finally arrived, that wasn’t cooked in the middle either! And then finally one of the party started to have a reaction to ingesting gluten even though she ordered from the gluten free menu the food must have contained gluten or was contaminated. We asked to speak to a manager and was told one wasn’t available. The member of staff dealing with the complaint wasn’t very apologetic and made my friend having a reaction feel alienated in the way it was dealt with. Very poor customer service! We was told we didn’t have to pay which was probably to silence us. it completely ruined our night we was told a kitchen manager would contact us on Sunday or Monday which still hasn’t happened. Disgusting!

Visited Sat night with my husband for a date night . I Have eaten here before a few times and its been ok . However, last night was very poor and so will not be returning nor recommending. When ordering food the waitress was so quick to leave the table, my husband hadn’t managed to finish ordering an item so had to get up and chase her to finish placing his order. I specifically asked for my fillet steak, med to well no blood. After a lengthy wait the food arrived , mine was so bloody in the middle it was rare , had to send it back . By the time it was returned my husband had almost finished his meal even tho he ate slowly as we went for a meal to eat together . On eventually returning my meal the waitress just dumped it down and said here you are , it returned with no chips so i then had to ask for some . By now my husband had finished his food so we both ate alone. The place was very noisy, some girls were screeching near the bar area, nobody bothered. the bar staff and waiting staff were very busy interacting and chatting with each other at the end of the bar rather than focussing on good customer service . I literally couldn’t wait to get out of there. When paying the we were asked if everything was ok. I could t be bothered to respond with the complaint as it had been very obvious to some staff it was not ok as my empty space and lengthy wait were observed by another waiter . All in all a ruined meal and a waste of money

Visited for 2 nights, lovely room although being on front of the building very noisy from the street below so can’t have the windows open. Was very warm in the room definitely needed a lighter duvet but very clean and tidy. We ate downstairs both nights and can’t fault the food. Drinks/cocktails were amazing and the members of staff A*. Would definitely come back :)

Honestly couldnt have loved this place more, I'll try and go as detailed as I can because I don't think this place gets the credit it deserves; Hotel: So we found a deal on Groupon for one night stay here with £25PP dinner allowance, complimentary bottle of wine to take to the room on arrival, breakfast and late check out. Vera was on the reception who was so lovely and welcoming and showed us where parking was, we saw you could upgrade to the super king suite for £20, it was available so we decided to do it and honestly, no regrets! The rooms was stunning! A hydro bath in the room, little mini kitchen with everything you need with facilities. The bathroom was huge with a rainfall shower. Everything was perfect!! The ONLY thing I'm sad about and this is literally me personally and was not the hotels fault, I didn't sleep very well because if the bloody seagulls all through the night, so if your a light sleeper, bring ear plugs! This wasn't the hotels fault! Was such a perfect stay! Restaurant: We booked a table for dinner when we checked in and the restaurant was stunning, the service was lovely, the cocktails were yummy and the food, just amazing! We got two starters and two mains and it covered the allowance, all we paid for was the drinks. Area: Before we got to the hotel, we stopped at the dock and Lakes Aquarium and it was so cheap and such an amazing last minute decision! Lots of shops and beaches within the distance! Honestly, overall this place was an absolute pleasure to stay at and would 100% recommend! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience, it was everything we needed! ❤️

Booked here for a birthday meal celebration and also father's day. On arrival we were welcomed and shown to our seats. This was a booth at the rear of the restaurant. My daughter loved this and said it was perfect. After ordering drinks we chose our meals and our daughter can be shy but given the friendly staff she felt comfortable to ask for her own meal. We started with a garlic bread to share. Then my daughter had the kids fish and chips and my wife the sea bass risotto. I went for the duo of pork. Desserts were two salted caramel tarts and the child's sticky pudding. All food was well cooked and really tasty. The child's sticky toffee pudding was excellent value at £1.50. All in all a great meal and a shame I live four hours away so unlikely I'll be back in the area.

Had a fantastic time for my nieces baby shower.All staff were amazing.I absolutely love afternoon teas and Iv been to many.I choose the savoury afternoon tea and it honestly was one of the best Iv had 10/10 for sure.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights on a Groupon deal. On entering the bar area to check in a drunken man at the bar dropped and smashed a glass on the floor and left. The bar tender cleaned this up which delayed our check in. The car park is a street away but free. The hotel itself is lovely. The room was very spacious and clean as was the bathroom, great shower, very roomy and great power. The little kitchen was ideal as were the breakfasts which were already in the room, cereals, croissants, yogurts, fresh orange juice and milk. The furniture and decor were contemporary and excellent quality. The bed was big and comfortable. Unfortunately this was a one off trip. We used Barrow as a base. The room was classed as a deluxe so due to some wear and tear on the bathroom floor and around the kitchen units and a broken window could not give it a five star review.

Popped in for a Dinner with friends before an early evening appointment. They offer a superb early eating deal of two courses for £10.95 or three for £13.95. Certainly don't skimp on quantity either - the Calimari starter was fabulous, and I had the mussels & chips - a whole pot-full of mussels. Superbly cooked and really tasty. The burgers looked awesome as well!Great food - great value and a really lovely atmosphere.

Came for Sunday lunch, quite busy but quick pleasant service. Reduced menu for Sundays choice of about 5 starters, we had soup and mushrooms, choice was then of a Couple of roasts, a fish dish, pasta and veg option. The roast beef was tasty enough if a little cold, veg were nice, our friend had the sea bass which was a very small portion although tasty enough. No puds for us. We did see a couple of roast beefs being sent back, probably because they too were cold. Very nice surroundings and handy to have disabled parking outside, when it is not occupied by cars not displaying blue badges! We will be back but prefer the weekday menu.

We stayed here for valentines and decided to dine in the restaurant, they booked us in no problems when we arrived for a table later that evening, the food was amazing (especially the seafood pasta) and the cocktails were lovely too, good value for money, we were served by Kirsty it was her first day and she was absolutely lovely!! We stayed at the townhouse last night, The room itself was very nice but it sounded like the window was open it was that loud. There was horrible green light in the bedroom and it lights up the whole room all night and theres no way to turn it off. The club underneath doesnt close until 1am and you hear all the hustle and bustle for a couple of hours after. Around 2am there was fights breaking out and police outside and it was very loud. Both of us had no sleep all night. During the evening we went down to the bar and it was very busy! it took around 20 minutes to get served and when we did I asked for a cocktail to be told no you can't have one by a very rude bartender, i asked why and he said because im not making them, even though you could see people with them and have cocktail menus all over the place. It's not a place I would stay again, it's more like a bar that has a few rooms upstairs than a hotel, and the room itself was expensive.

Had 2 courses Sunday evening. Food was very good standard, quick friendly service and really excellent value too. Not eaten here for a while but will be back sooner than later hopefully

The townhouse looks wonderful as you enter to check in for your stay, the rooms are well decorated and stylish, Wife loves this place. Food as always is excellent, bar was busy but didn’t have to wait long. Would recommend for anyone visiting Barrow. Bravo to the team here.

Called in for breakfast at 9.30 on a Wednesday morning, very quiet, only one other table eating. Pleasant and quick service, good value for a full English with refillable tea and coffee. Nice surroundings, maybe food could have been a bit warmer and sausage was a bit spicy for breakfast but very enjoyable.

Stayed for two nights, lovely room supplied with everything you could need. Breakfast excellent especially the wonderful service from Vera Thank you. Now the bad bits, parking a nightmare, friday saturday disco night full of young ones enjoying themselves, nothing wrong with that but the music is so loud no chance of any sleep until well after 0100, and then expect punch ups and shouting for another 2 hrs outside. Apart from that enjoyed our stay but management need to look into noise levels especially for paying guests.

Booked for lunch Christmas Eve at 1pm. Food was great and very tasty but service was shocking. Understaffed, we were in 2 and half hours and only served 2 drinks despite asking the meal was pre booked yet still slow, the restaurant wasn’t even full of diners. For Christmas Eve you would have expected more staff to be waiting on than 2 - 3. Disappointed

We booked for a work / social meal, I opted for the 3 course Christmas menu when booking and glad I did as the food was brilliant. Starter was prawn and crayfish, followed by beef that melted in the mouth with tasty accompaniments and finished off with a chocolate torte which was rich and smooth. For £24 i thought it was excellent value considering the quality.

The furness railway is a wetherspoons, it is amazing ,we booked 2 family rooms which were huge,you had a hairdryer an iron and an ironing board which is very unusual.We also had an over the bath shower plus a walkin shower I would definitely go there again. We found Tailors cocktail bar which was really nice and very reasonably priced.

Myself and two colleagues ate here twice on a recent business trip to Barrow. The choice of food and rink in extensive, the quality is first class and the service is low key and friendly. Highly recommended, and definitely on the agenda for the next trip.

We were visiting Barrow-in-Furness for the first time, and had an 'early doors' meal after visiting Walney Island and Furness Abbey. Marina, front of house, was very helpful, and Denvar, our waitress, efficient and welcoming; the choice of two or three courses was very reasonably priced, and the food good without being spectacular. The light entertainment was provided by the other 'early diners', including several ladies in leopardskin outfits, and we were glad we moved our 6.30 booking forward.

When visiting the area, we were looking for somewhere to go for Sunday dinner, and fortuously decided on the Townhouse. They have a fixed Sunday menu with an extensive range of extremely good, well cooked food. To make it even better, the bill for 4 (3 three courses and 1 two course and a bottle of wine) came to £75. Service was also very friendly as well as good. When we return to the area, this will certainly be our choice for another meal.

We've not been to Barrow for a couple of years ish and the last time we came to the Townhouse it was a bit weird. Lots of young looking and very hyper kids. This time it was a much nicer crowd and we got served quickly. Posh, a bit like the Duke but probably even posher. We liked it. Not the cheapest.

What a lovely place and so affordable. The rooms are small but very chic and spotless. With nice touches throughout.

Just back from a lovely week staying at the townhouse. I would recommend this place to anyone, we were made so welcome and the staff couldn’t have done enough for us. Our room was just perfect and spotlessly clean. Every day our fridge was filled up with bread,butter,jam , water and fruit juice. Oh and also a few cans of beer!!

After a 2 night stay at The Townhouse hotel I would highly recommend it .the decore is outstanding the staff so very friendly and helpful .the breakfast was a 10 out of 10.i forgot my hairbrush and the manager even went out and bought me one. Above and beyond. Thank you .

We stayed here for two nights, hotel is lovely, clean and very reasonably priced! The restaurant offered gluten free options and service was great. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We would stay here again. Areas isn’t the best but we used it as a base to go to the Lakes.

A few of us went for Sunday lunch, most of us had from the set menu for Sunday lunch. Food was excellent and really good value for money for all three courses.

Popped in for lunch and had the ocean and the garden sharing boards. Both were excellent. Beautifully cooked fish on one and the same can be said for the garden board, tempura vegetables were lovely as was the halloumi. Will definitely go again.

Had a beautiful three-course meal today and I hope you had the two-course. The selection for each course was really good. my hubby had a roast dinner and there was loads of meat, I had the steak which was seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. We both had puddings to and I absolutely loved my lemon tart. The staff really polite and friendly and it was not expensive for what we got.

Hi, just felt It's time I wrote a review of the Townhouse. It's one of my favourite places to spend a long lunch/drinks. The staff are always very attentive and helpful, which can be rare these days. The food is really good and I keep trying new things. This time it was seared tuna and crunched potatoes, with a crispy poached egg on top.It was superb. We go there a lot in the afternoon's and have enjoyed it every time. Just get back home for early evening to relax, heaven

From start to finish the food was vile ☹️ Calamari can only be described as smart price runbish & not edible 😲 £25 fillet steak came out 2 hours later stone cold 😆

Fantastic hotel , stayed here with my 11yr old daughter . Having a mini kitchenette with a full size fridge was an unexpected surprise and that along with fresh breakfast products, tea and coffee in the room made the mornings seamless - so easy , especially when all you want is cereal or toast. Restaurant menu was good , and the staff were friendly - would highly recommend this hotel.
