Newton Arms Pub in Barrow-in-Furness

Haven't tried the food but great place and family friendly.

Managers(?) make you feel as welcome as a rattle snake! Strange for customer service. Doubt, be running the place long.

It was my first visit, the pub hosted the Wednesday Urban orienteering event and made us most welcome, John Smith's smooth was good and excellent value, thanks, 😀

Wow what a great night with comedian Sam Avery. Laughed so much my face hurts!! Get down here for the second half! A brilliant comedian! Pub is great too. Lovely staff, clean bar and loos. A great atmosphere.

i am worlds fussiest eaters and nothing was too much hassel for them. i got the bbq chicken but asked for it in a bagette. with chips. staff were helpful and food was brilliant will deffo be back

Absolutely great place for live entertainment and variety of local acts and occasionally visiting performers. Runs great festivals as well as a unique range of ales and honest home cooked meals ....well worth a visit !!!

Ordered a Sunday lunch from here. Very grateful for the delivery service during our extended lockdown. Arrived within 10 mins of stated time, hot, large portions, meat very tender and tasty, veg a bit over cooked but difficult for delivering. Each meal came in three containers with a separate large portion of gravy. During the current situation the Newton is operating as Dial and Dine with nightly specials ordered through Facebook. Very pleasant but can’t wait to get back to the normality of going out.

Really lovely pub,great food,had great day there today,after memory walk for Dementia n Alzheimer's, wonderfully attended,plenty of room n comfy seats, wonderful staff and management,nothing too much trouble lovely choice of drinks,beers soft drinks etc,plenty for everyone, get yourselves to see the Newton PAUL AND SUE ARE THE BOSSES GREAT COUPLE

Big screen TV. Sky sports. Good selection of beer and spirits. Gin bar is very popular. Bar meals are inexpensive. Sunday lunch is popular. You can have Sunday lunch delivered to your home locally. Friendly local pub.

Have just had a sunday lunch at the Newton everything home cooked, meat was amazing. Would reccomend eating here Sevand Paul make you welcome, also pub has biggest screen i have seen for live sport. Bands tegularly play at Newton well worth a visit

Listened to this band on a Saturday night - surprisingly good, bit loud but good night out. Good atmosphere, eclectic mix of people.

6 of us went for the Sunday lunch recently. We were all impressed by the value for money and the portion sizes. However there were a couple of things that took the shine off the experience. The man serving the meals didn't have great customer service skills, the meals were covered on gravy rather than it being served separately in a jug and the mashed potatoe had huge lumps in it. Despite everyone in the room we were in eating there was sport on the TV which ruined the atmosphere for us. I wrote a review on social media (Not even mentioning the mash or the man serving) and was surprised by the response. Whoever wrote the response blamed me for the points I highlighted saying I should have asked for the gravy in a jug and could have eaten in a different room to get away from the TV. As this was our first visit to the pub for food I have no idea how I would know I had these options ! The food is plentiful, it's very cheap but it's not great customer service during or after visiting . Not sure we will be returning which is a shame.

We used the Roast dinner delivered service from the Newton pub in Dalton yesterday. 6 dinners delivered to the hungry staff while we were at work on a 13 hour shift. We can't fault it. Mixture of veg. Loads of meat mash and roast potatoes. Yorkshire pudding and loads of gravy all separate so you could built your own roast. Delivered for when we wanted it and was piping hot when we got it. Thanks for saving the day Newton pub but we were so bloody full after it. No pictures sorry as we were too hungry and it didn't touch the sides hahah

We went to the pub for some food and they had bouncy castle outside which the children absolutely loved! Food was delicious. Nice cocktails. Food priced well. Staff friendly

Always seems to be being sold and them re opened....however currently offers food which looks alright...also when the football is on offers a free snack of sausage and chips at halftime for anyone watching which is an added incentive to watch the footy out..the beer is reasonably priced and the staff are friendly

A very local pub and offers great food at a fairly cheap price. Great for a night out or as a starting point when out round Dalton

The Newton is cool, friendly and the beer's not bad. Not very busy so a great place to go to if you want to have a chat.
