Not just an effortless stylish gaff with great coffees and my favourite Chai Latte in the region, it's a social enterprise of real ethical substance. Veggie & Vegan friendly but not exclusive with daily specials to tempt carnivores alike AND top notch homebaking. An asset to Berwick-Upon-Tweed and the region as a whole!

A lovely little impromptu find on a wet day. So friendly and helpful choosing our wine tasters. Nice wine selection and games to pass the time. Tasters were excellent value for money. Dog friendly too and the little dog treats were a lovely gesture. Highly recommend. Only wish we could have spent longer there.

As a visitor to the town I came across Pier Red and was made to feel very welcome. The food looked amazing but unfortunately I'd already had lunch at a chain cafe. I wish now that I'd waited. The ladies serving were so friendly and helpful . I felt very at home with a lovely chilled white wine which they recommended. The atmosphere for a Wednesday afternoon was warm and friendly, I should also add the toilet was immaculate.

Came across this really lovely little cafe on Sunday 23rd May, looking for shelter from the rain & a cooked breakfast. The lady gave us a warm welcome and a comfortable seat. The breakfasts was delicious and beautifully cooked (see photos) it's well priced with good quality ingredients. We had a great visit and highly recommend, Thank you for the warm welcome and lovely food

Normally we have a lovely time at Pier Red and the food is delicious. Today we went to this beau venue and I arrived before my husband - ordered a bottle of Prosecco which we do whenever we visit. The table to the side of us had some food delivered to their table. We went to order and were informed only cakes available. We were not informed on arrival that food would be stopped at a certain time nor any notice on the door. If we had of known no food then we would have gone elsewhere and spent our money.. I understand that Joanne you had a meeting on site but you need to respect your customers too. Diane

Called in here after our visit to the Lowry by the Sea exhibition at the nearby Granary. It's in a lovely location by the Tweed estuary and close to the city walls. Sadly the weather wasn't up to much but we took a table outside and were served very quickly. I chose a latte and my friend tea. To eat I opted for a crumble cake with a salted caramel sauce. My friend chose a fruit scone which was served with generous amounts of clotted cream and strawberry jam. I don't think I would go for the crumble cake again. It was one of those confections which look good but lack substance. It was incredibly sweet too, although that shouldn't have been a surprise as the waitress did warn me. My friend's scone was pronounced lovely. The accompanying wasp thought so too so we beat a hasty retreat into the safety of the cafe itself. Prices are reasonable, the service is good and staff very friendly. Perhaps not a five star rating but there's no reason why we wouldn't return.

After walking the town walls we were in need of a bit of sustenance and luckily came across Northern Edge as we walked back into town. We ordered hot drinks and cakes which were served upstairs in the atmospheric room which contains some interesting stuff. The cakes were 'a bit much' (sweetness and size wise) so they gave us a sturdy back to take them away to finish later.

A lovely tea/coffee shop. Clean, comfy sofas, dog friendly. Lovely cakes and scones all freshly made by the owner. Also lots of tempting scarves, gloves and handbags decorated around the place for you to buy. A delightful place we found by chance on a day trip to Berwick upon Tweed.

Mentioned to assistant I had just missed my birthday treat due to illness and she kindly gave me a piece of cake anyway. Because I was walking with a stick she carried the tray to me. Couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. Big plus
