A lovely tea/coffee shop. Clean, comfy sofas, dog friendly. Lovely cakes and scones all freshly made by the owner. Also lots of tempting scarves, gloves and handbags decorated around the place for you to buy. A delightful place we found by chance on a day trip to Berwick upon Tweed.

The very definition of a cosy relaxed cafe decorated in homely fabrics and with friendly staff with the most gorgeous cakes freshly made by the owner. Fully vegetarian light bite menu also looked lovely. Only about 8 tables and a couple of sofas but a welcoming vibe. We shall be back...the chocolate and walnut cake makes the journey from Wooler well worthwhile !

We came across this tearoom after leaving the car park, it is located along side the city wall at one end. The staff were friendly and busy. They bake the cakes on site and the smell was wafting through the shop, anything to get the taste buds working overtime! It was a good cup of coffee and the cheese scone, which had just come out of the oven, was delicious. It was a shame couldn't go back for lunch but time didn't allow us to.

We were on a walk in the Berwick area and in need of mid-walk refreshments. We'd had a gander round the cafes and tea rooms in the town centre however they all looked rather busy and were about to give up when we stumbled upon Fantoosh which looked nice and calm. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the ambience was very relaxing. There was a small but reasonable choice of cakes on offer. I had a generous slice of coffee and walnut cake washed down with a massive pot of peppermint tea, which went down a treat, and the hubby had one of their quirky blueberry and lemon scones.

Superb sandwiches and Pannini, both with salad and crisps included. Very friendly staff, who welcomed our dog by feeding him dog treat biscuits. Excellent Coffee and Hot chocolate. We were so tempted by the range and quality of the cakes, we also added these. Cafe looks very posh inside, but walkers from off the city wall (which we were) are happily welcomed.

After wondering around Berwick for a while scoping out the different dog friendly eateries, we decided on coming here. Salads, sandwiches and panini a are the main ‘meal’ type dishes and there are plenty of scones and cakes. Rhubarb Victoria sponge, alongside a strawberry Victoria sponge, as well as lemon drizzle, coffee and walnut and brownies. Also sweet and savoury scones…. The raspberry and apple scones looked lovely! Dog friendly and our little dog was made to feel very welcome. It’s just at the top of the main road and on the corner; I’d certainly recommend here and try the coffee and walnut cake, yum!

Went in for lunch to find no staff so sat and waited after 10 minutes lady came back in and had popped to a shop. It was 1.30pm we asked for a toasted sandwich but was told no. Apparently we could only have cake as “Fiona” had to leave at 2pm. Waitress was very loud and when she started singing that was time to leave ! We had finished our coffee & cake by 2pm. I go to this little gem of a cafe all the time and mainly alone as it is one of the best places in Berwick to go for a peaceful coffee and not feel judged, it is not expensive at all I feel some comments may make people think otherwise, however if you actually look at the menu and ask, the prices are very average for a small boutique business it certainly is not £4.90 for 1 scone.. this price is based on a scone platter, it costs me £3.50 for one of the best scones I’ve ever tasted along with a pot of Earl grey tea, the staff are extremely friendly and always make you feel welcomed, they allow dogs in aswell so make sure to take your four legged friend along as they will get a lot of attention from the dog lovers. Have also purchased a few of there gorgeous gifts that they offer, along with their beautiful cakes, scones and light lunches. Fantoosh truly is a wonderful little cafe and looks so lovely at this time of year, really gets you into the Christmas spirit! Make sure to go check it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed!

The place was lovely inside and food was all lovely (amazing cheese scones) however We were majorly disappointed by the atmosphere! It was silent and uncomfortable, we could've heard a pin drop (almost like eating crisps in a library as my 17 year old daughter said) and would definitely put us off going back and to be honest we wouldn't have stayed had it not been for the fact it was raining and we were all starving! This is a shame as it seems like a lot of effort and money has gone into the place design wise but not so much about making customers welcome and comfortable!

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.

My cousin and I were hugely impressed by Castaways. I had been reluctant to go because about 20 years ago the original café had been taken over by a useless couple. But when I passed and looked in, I could see that its original atmosphere had been recreated by the current management. Our reception was very friendly. The café was full (always a good sign) and we were third in the queue. Our table was soon ready and we were seatedby a waitress. We were very comfortable and the atmosphere was nice. Many pleasant people there as customers happily dining and chatting. Good choice of food and drink. I had the traditional breakfast and my cousin had… I think it was avocado and egg on sourdough bread. We were both very content with our lunch. I will certainly return and bring members of my family to enjoy castaways. Nicely sited, easy car parking and great views over Seaton Sluice and the sea. Get yourself along there and have a treat!
