I arrived last week and have not eaten here since i moved back to the area. The gentlemen that run the place are still there and have done an exceptional job, absolutely fantastic, the staff were incredible and the dishes were beautiful. I would highly recommend this beautiful place

First time we have visited and so looking forward to going again, having experienced many restaurants it finally makes a change to receive food which is presented to such a high standard, also it being hot ( not Luke warm) plates hot as well, why do not all restaurants do this !! Food was absolutely lovely, service is 1st class, at last we have found a real gem. 100% recommend this place you will not be disappointed.

Who has a quiz night on a Saturday and expects other patrons to not be able to go and enjoy a night out. Especially a Halloween themed evening that the staff we also partaking in. Rude, abusive, unprofessional team of people at this pub. And not the first time I’ve had and awful experience here. The staff need some serious customer service training. I’m appalled.

Amazing afternoon tea. A real treat with fantastic service aswell. I loved that you get given to start with rolls and we were given fritters but it could be sauasage rolls (we were told they there would be sausage rolls) the fritters were nice, a bit different. Then afterwards you get served by silver service to choose your sandwiches. Lots of choice to choose from, 6 different filling. Then you get the stand with the scones and deserts. All delicious. They provided boxes to take away the ones you can't eat because your full. There is a list of different teas with a large variety including lemon and ginger. I highly recommend this afternoon tea. I was also spoilt by the chef with writing Happy 50th Birthday in chocolate on a plate, that was a nice touch, thank you Pontlands.

This is a lovely cafe/restaurant. Have dined there for lunch, lovely no complaints. However, recently went to the Tapas night. Staff were friendly, atmosphere lovely. How disappointing. Food looked and tasted like it was bought from Iceland(sorry Iceland) and put in the oven or fried. No fresh ingredients used. It was pure carbohydrates. Please if doing tapas... make it authentic and have some healthy options.

Came here for a Groupon afternoon tea. Lovely old building. The staff were friendly. Sandwiches and cake good quality. But wasn't impressed with the mug of hot water with a teabag. Afternoon tea should always be a teapot and cups and saucers.

The first I must say is, that the food was top notch. I had the most amazing time at the eagle and hind. The owner Charlie and her partner in crime Tom are the best people you could wish to run in to. If you’re lucky enough to have a drink at this pub, please please toast to the eagle and to the hind.

On the way to get a take out and saw a few people enjoying a quality beer in peace. No youngsters swearing, just people relaxing with a quality beer or cider in a quiet atmosphere. Lovely welcoming Landlord , very knowledgeable and even had a quick sample before I bought. The way proper beers / ciders should be served. I'm only in the area for a couple of weeks but will go frequently whilst here. Enjoy everyone!!
