Nice place to grab a quick coffee ans bite to eat. Coffee sizes are generous too and service is always friendly.

Food was really wonderful, service extremely slow - definitely not enough staff. My friend has a citrus allergy and she made this clear when she arrived, on ordering the main course and when ordering the traditional rice pudding explaining she would have it without the marmalade due to her citrus allergy. Half way through dessert it was noticed there were orange flecks in the rice pudding!!!!!! Orange zest! Luckily she had antihistamine with her but was very ill for the remainder of the day. Would have given 5/5 if it wasn’t for slow service and poor allergy process and recognition.

Disappointing to say the least & it's such a shame as this used to be a lovely lil places to eat & have coffee. Toasted sandwich (£10) was expensive for what it was & i had the extra delight of a hair in my last mouthful that clearly wasnt mine & the once lovely selection of cakes is a poor show now. I know this place is up for sale & I hope a new owner can rejuvenate it as I feel the current owners have somewhat given up & this shows in the atmosphere, the ripped tables, the poor quality food & the customer service.

We visit the Pig and Whistle as often as we can as we love the varied menus available and the food is never less than impeccable. There is always a warm welcome from the owners and the staff, and the atmosphere is always very comfortable. A perfect restaurant for special occasions or a romantic meal for two. Honestly cannot recommend it highly enough.

My family and I have never been here before but went to the tapas night which we absolutely loved! The vibe was brilliant, small and cosy but still with a buzz. Staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Atmosphere was great and really enjoyed all the food - portions were much bigger than expected which as a pleasant surprise! Cocktails were delicious too. Would highly recommend!

Ironic name, since they don't actually serve coffee. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I ordered an americano and a decaf americano but was told there was only instant coffee, and asked if this was ok... the Italian half of me died a little bit that day! I had just arrived back in the UK from Mauritius so this was a real plummet back to earth. Dirty table on arrival, and basically ignored for a long time until my partner came in and sat with me. Perhaps because I obviously wasn't a local. I imagine if you are a local and just want a cuppa and some 'value' grub, and don't mind slumming it, you'll survive... Not my cuppa tea tho.

Enjoyed the lovely beer garden at the rear of the pub, and also a pint of Hawkstone cider.
