Superb service. Will definitely book again. Beautiful venue, great food and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Loved it.

Fabulous little cafe in the middle of the Essex countryside. Arrived a bit late, half an hour before closing in fact - all because Apple Maps took us to the wrong place (Google Maps was fine), but the very friendly staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The food and coffee were absolutely delicious, the homemade Tiramisu was to die for! Loved its quirky decor and the fact that it's also a vinyl record shop - have come across similar cafes elsewhere in this country (eg. Cornwall, Devon, trendy parts of London) but not anywhere in Essex - certainly not vegan. 10/10.

We were really pleased to stop off at this very clean café, which was used by couples, single visitors, and builders. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and the whole atmosphere was friendly. Breakfast was good quality, and coffee was great. Decaf is available too. Definitely one to put on my places to go, and the lunch menu looked good.

I am horrifies to say that following buying an expensive over priced bacon sandwich the bread was green and mouldy when I got back to the office to eat it. I will not be returning and recommend others to steer well clear. The wait time for a simply sandwich is extortionate even when the cafe is quiet you can easily wait at least half an hour if not 40 mins for a sandwich. The mouldy bread was the final straw. How they can increase prices so drastically and provide food that is out of date is beyond me and a heath hazard. Be safe

Came to visit daughter on placement from uni. Wasn’t busy but was told food be about 30 mins was over a hour till we got it. Husband had a lasagne and daughter and I had ultimate sharer, which was only 2 of each different selection?? Wouldn’t class as ultimate as needed at least 4 of each thing to feed 2 people. Husband said lasagne could had been bigger portion as well. Food was nice though but bigger portions would be great. Staff were all friendly can’t fault them. Would visit again if bigger portions.

A hidden gem in Brentwood. We visited for afternoon tea as a treat for my Mum’s birthday and she was thrilled. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, especially as I had a pram, and they made us feel so comfortable. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. Very sweetly decorated rooms and a lovely garden outlook. I cannot wait to return and will be bringing my sister in law and her dog for their ‘doggy afternoon tea!’

Just the best here!!!! Visited several time since first finding it in February this year, travelling by train from Ilford. Absolutely worth the journey. Its like an oasis in a desert. All the staff are so luvvvvvverly, and really can't do enough for you. The menu is so original, the food is really good, with a constantly changing "daily specials" choice, and their home made really cakes are amazing. Who needs fancy London venues, prices and crazy crowds. Well done to all at Woody's and yes, we'll be back. Michael G.

I used to go to this place a lot, but feel like the service has got so poor when the manager isn’t there. When she is, it’s an entirely different experience and I can’t fault her. She’s friendly and clearly good at what she does. Unfortunately on the several occasions I’ve been without her there, service is poor at best. I’ve been debating whether to even review this, but another poor service today and I’m fed up. We ordered to have a delivery today due to us having an 8-day old baby and it being my birthday - our drinks arrived. The food did not. We phoned the restaurant to speak to a guy who was so blasé and unhelpful- he said it’s not their problem, another uber driver took our order, returned it back to them cold and we would have to pay again as it’s not their problem but Ubers. I find this service pathetic. It is surely also the responsibility of the business to ensure the correct delivery is being taken. He offered no solution and was about as useful as a chocolate teapot. When I phoned to ask to speak to the manager, I found his tone and manner just so apathetic. I’ll not be bothering to go here again, today was the final straw.
