We were happily enjoying drinks in the garden until, in a split second, my autistic child decided to run up some steps at the back of the pub that lead to the roof. I was watching him and ran up after him immediately but not before the landlady had shouted at him and me in a disgusting way. When I told her my child was autistic and didn’t understand danger, she spoke to me like rubbish and threatened me. Her behaviour was a huge overreaction in a situation that was under control. She made out like my child was naughty and then proceeded to berate me in front of my husband, other child and friend. This is a horrible, non inclusive pub and the landlady does not understand neurodiversity. Before this happened, I was served a wine with lipstick all over the glass which had to be sent back. This is an discriminatory pub. Do not take a child with SEN here.

We as always had a lovely afternoon.we had the lamb and beef roast dinners .so so good .we was celebrating keiths birthday .been many times as a group of 9 of us. Thankyou for great food as always .

Booked a table for 1pm. Nine of us. We had a lovely time .starters was plentiful.and 8 of us had the roast dinner .yum yum we all ate it all up .loads of veg .gravy .lamb and turkey we choose. One had dessert and loved it.and coffees. Been here many times and food we all enjoy ..we meet our friend keith in there .

We had a lovely sunday lunch.7 of us for lunchand Rachel was very helpful as we didnt want chips we wanted jacket potato and changed other things with our food .nothing was to much.food was excellent.we wasnt rushed.we chosse pies .chicken.sasuage and mash .ham eggs .and plenty on plate finished with coffee.been many times before and always happy with food and service.

Avoid.. all the food is from the shelf and microwaved.. i left the table to look after my son in play area, by the time i came back all the food from the table was removed by the staff although i had my belongings on the table.. the atmosphere? Looks like the locals owned the pub same as their siblings owned the playground..

Nine of us.sunday lunch and we all had a lovely time.roast beef.seabass.lamb.and starters .desserts .roasts were realy good.plenty on plate lots of veg .desserts good.coffee .lattes.service was good we wasnt rushed.plates were hot.so relaxing we had all a wonderful time.thankyou.

Yummy! This place has extremely delicious food! Visited here with my husband and baby, was kid friendly with a play area outside and also very nice garden furniture. Lovely decor and really really friendly staff, two in particular called Katie and Tara! Thank you so much ladies for making this a lovely experience!

Only popped over for a couple of drinks with my partner and son! Ended up eating here for the first time! Food was bloody lovely. Portion sizes are huge and reasonable price. Dotty like that it's dog friendly too! Will be coming again soon!

Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to move my mum’s wake from home to a venue; the problem was I only had a few days to make the arrangements! I contacted several pubs near Bentley Crematorium and Carla responded quickly to advise The Robin could accommodate us. I visited with my daughter and Carla showed us the area where the wake would be held. She thought of every small detail and was able to accommodate vegans without hesitation. The pricing was clear and good value. The spread was amazing with the tables decorated with beautiful fresh flowers in my mum’s favourite colour. We had a few more people than expected but the food was ample for everyone and I received so many compliments. Some of the guests went into the main bar where the customers were so welcoming and friendly. The bar staff are lovely. This pub did my Mum proud and I really can’t praise them enough. I’d passed this pub so many times but hadn’t been in but we were so impressed we will definitely go again, hopefully under happier circumstances.

We had a terrible experience at The Robin. To start with, we dined at The Robin whilst it was compulsory to wear a face mask in communal areas. Despite this, we were the only guests wearing a mask in communal areas plus our waiter did not wear a mask whilst serving our food or drinks. As a vulnerable person, this made me feel very uncomfortable from the start. The waiter showed us to our table upon arrival however the table was pushed up against the wall when we arrived. He left us to pull the table away from the wall and move the chairs over to the table. The waiter had clearly not received much training and was very unprofessional. We ordered one round of drinks which we were asked to pay for at the table. Once we placed our food order, we waited 45 minutes for starters to be served. I must say, the starters were delicious. Shortly after the mains were served, we noticed that there was no vegetarian option in the 'veggie roast', simply vegetables and potatoes. This was misleading as we imagined a vegetarian option would be provided! To make things worse, the food was served by a lady wearing no mask who just shouted the name of the type of roast across our table. It was very unprofessional and unhygienic. In the end, two members out of our table of four left early as they couldn't bear the service. I spoke to the supervisor who was attentive and apologetic, she reassured us that what we had experienced was not normal service at The Robin. This marked the third time we have dined at The Robin, each time the food had been delicious however the service majorly lets the pub down.

My mum and I had sandwiches and coffee today and were overwhelmed by the welcome and kindness of the staff. As a bonus we sat in beautiful sunshine!

We always go in here for a Sunday lunch and the food gets better and better. Staff are so easy to get into conversation with. Al though there is a small car park people are more than happy to top and turn in there 😂 Other wise parking with just a short walk

Food was excellent.my friend had the lamb shank said it was good.all fresh veg.vegan curry was very tasty and i had the jerk chicken burger with coleslaw and chips.realy nice the lamb shank and jerk chicken burger was off the specials board. The actual menu had some nice dishes.Declan the server was very nice.pub was clean.and nice and warm. First time in the pub and we all said we will be going back.the only thing i didnt like is food served on a wooden board.

Booked a table for 2, was shown to a table in the bar area, where football was being shown, asked to be sat elsewhere but was told fully booked, there was no-one else seated to eat, ordered food and a family was sat at a nearby table, 53 minutes later when the other table started receiving their meals we asked where ours were to be told they would be out soon, 10 minutes later no other meals had come out of the kitchen, we settled the drinks bill and left. Cant comment on the food as we didn't receive any. But over an hour wait in a restaurant serving 2 tables is not acceptable.

I had an hour for a meal. Saw The Robin and it looked good. There weren't many people in the place on a Saturday lunchtime. I ordered a burger (not too difficult!). After about 20 minutes I asked how long it was going to be. The response was 'a few minutes'. That's OK. a but later the same question and the same response. Meanwhile, there were few customers and plenty of people going in and out of the kitchen. The burger eventually came after about 45 minutes. It was OK but I had to rush a meal that I wanted to enjoy and left nearly half of it as I was stuck for time. Sorry, might have been good - I will never know!

Really pleased with our deliveroo from this pub, the portions were huge my burger was massive and my kids ate loads of Their nuggets chips and corn. My hubby had a salad which massive and delicious. Will definitely Eat here again both in the pub or from deliveroo

What a wonderful experience. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful the food was more than I could handle. I was full to the brim. The singer was brilliant and got everyone going. All our friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were talking about a return visit.

Not finding enough information on the Robin's website & wanting a sandwich-and-a-beer type of lunch, I rang the pub and asked if they did anything as humble. The (?) landlady said they didn't have a menu for that but they had the means to made sandwiches & if that as what we wanted, they'd happily make them for us. Acordingly, my wife & I turned up: I mentioned the phone call and was immediately asked what we'd like and what we wised to drink—no umming or ahhing, straight willingness to serve the customer. We had our sandwiches, elegantly made with thin bread (no door-step slices, here) and cut diagonally, rather above the usual pub style. The ambience may not be the plushest but the service was outstanding. Well done!

Food was awful, service was very good. Thinnest roast beef, biggest raw potatoes and inedible broccoli....all was quite tasteless....and expensive for what it was....have had better school dinners...

My family and I visited this place twice in one week because we were so impressed with it. The Robin has a great vibe with friendly staff. The staff are warm and welcoming and the food is cooked to order. I can say that the food is Delicious and locally sourced. We were extremely impressed with the continuous friendly and helpful service with a smile.

We went for a weekday lunch having heard that the food is good and worth a visit. I must say the service was good and the staff were very friendly. The menu has a wide choice without being bombarded with pages of foods.

Pop into this pub by recommendation from another pub which wasn’t serving food on Sunday. Looks like pub has been recently been refurbished. Far to hot in pub garden so went inside. Very well decorated. Pub seemed busy but that’s because there was a shortage of staff. They have an American menu. Burgers hotdogs nachos steak salads but of very large portion sizes. I ordered a prawn and avocado salad which would have fed to hungry people. My grandaughter had nacho and cheese starter as her main but couldn’t finish these. There lots of people xtra added to each meal. My son had a New Yorker burger and was defeated by its size. The quality of each meal was very good and well worth the money and the staff were outstanding. Shall be returning. Again and again.

We visited last month with our 18 month old daughter and 2 year old niece, plus other family members. Couldn't recommend this place enough for lunch with the kids! Nice little garden out the back with play equipment, man at the bar was really helpful - sorted out big table outside for us including two high chairs and whiped it all down (first sunny day of the year). Food was absolutely brilliant, did wait a while but to be fair was extremely busy due to good weather. Great atmosphere. Kids food was excellent too. Definitely recommend.

Tonight I visited The Robin Brentwood and what a great meal as it was steak night . Being a solo visitor the bar man offered me the deal of a very large steak instead of the two steak deal and I was not disappointed.

12 of us went for Sunday lunch. We waited ages for our main course, which came out in dribs and drabs. By the time I received my roast beef my friend had finished her main and some members of our group only received their main even later than I did. We also waited ages for our desert. The restaurant didn't seem particularly busy either.

Went down to an evening meal today and cannot praise it enough . The service was excellent , the staff were actually amazing and the àtmosphere was superb . The food was fantastic and we will certainly be back

I was a little apprehensive about using a voucher but we received a fantastic friendly welcome. The service was excellent. The food was delicious with generous portions. I was delighted and really enjoyed our lunch. Would definitely recommend this pub restaurant... plenty of room for wheelchair users. spotlessly clean... the staff could not have been more helpful and kind..wonderful place to relax ...Great play area for children outside. We will definitely bring our family here.

I went here today for the first time for Sunday lunch not sure what took me so long as I live round the corner. I had planned to go to Hornchurch to meet friends but snow stopped this. Feeling like Billy no mates I went to the Robin by myself for lunch.Firstly the staff where lovely and friendly and I at no time felt awkward by myself. I ordered the roast beef which was beautiful and for once in a restaurant got a great selection of veg. I would highly recommend the Robin tne food is great staff genuinely friendly and it has a lovely local family feel even our local priest Father a Gary was at the bar telling lovely tales of locals . We had reserved a table for four people mid week, using a groupon voucher. We were shown to our table, by a friendly waitress, through the bar area into a small bright dining room, the bench seating was nicely dressed with some lovely cushions.

We have been there for drinks and food on the times we have been there we have never been disappointed, we have tried quite a few meals but we do like the deals which is Wednesday steak night 2 steaks and 2 sides and a bottle of wine for 2 , The food is lovely, we also have tried the Friday deal of 2 sea bass on Thai noodles and a bottle of wine x was amazing, cleared the plate x Karen and Tara also the rest of the staff couldn't be more helpful ,, going back very soon.

First time ive been here.nice newly refurbished outdoor area. Nice decor, clean and bar maid was very friendly and helpful. Menu is mainly American,I had the hotdog, fries ,salad and onion rings and was very nice considering it's just basic food.only thing I didn't like was that it's in the middle of quite a busy road not that it caused a problem.relaxed atmosphere.also you can use a tastecard for 241.but it was so cheap anyway didn't need to.

We ate at the Robin early on a Tuesday evening (6 pm). We were the only people in the very small restaurant. The restaurant has an American themed restaurant which has a limited menu (hot dogs, burgers, ribs). We were served by the Chef, Tanya. The food was good (although I am guessing that 50% is probably bought in frozen) and presented well. We used a tastecard so our two courses for two people with one round of drinks came in at £27 which I did not think was badly priced - I am not sure I would have been as happy paying full prices. Overall it is a local pub serving local people - if you could bottle the personality of Tanya the chef you could probably double the prices quite happily - she is well worth her weight in gold!

Came here yesterday the 22nd of May and had a fantastic lunch would highly recommend the steak and red onion panini came with chips and a side salad was so much couldn't eat it all !! Sat outside in the sunshine in beautiful surroundings Very friendly and helpful staff Whitley highly recommend

We really enjoyed our evening meal here, the staff are really happy and friendly. Coconut prawns and the prawn cocktail were delicious and I really enjoyed the meat pie and would recommend it highly, a small cosy restaurant in a pub.

After a visit to the dentist for check ups the three of us were feeling very hungry at 3.00 pm and were seeking a pub where we could still get a lunch .We spotted The Robin and decided to give it a go.The staff were very welcoming and the chef kept the kitchen open for us even though it had officially finished.The menu was American style food with a few English dishes as well.My wife and I had a Steak and Ale pie with mashed potatoes,brocolli,carrots and buttered leeks which was absolutely delicious and my grand-daughtery opted for a basic burger and fries and sweetcorn which she also enjoyed.and the prices were very reasonable .I would point out that you need to be hungry to manage the large portions dished up,there is even a 16 ounce New Yorker Burger to challenge even the biggest appetite !The staff were very pleasent and attentive and made our visit very enjoyable.We will certainly return !!

Visited The Robin for the first time in a bout three months last week and the service and quality of food had not changed. Both wee really good and this night is such good value.Had a great night and will definitely not leave it so long between visits again!

We visited here today for lunch. Most of the choice was American style burgers and hot dogs. We both had a burger. Mine was a chicken one and really nice. The triple cooked chips were amazing. The only problem was that we waited over 30 minutes for our food. We went on a Wednesday lunch time and it was very quiet in there. We used our taste card and got 2 for 1.

We had a mothers day lunch with family and food was excellent the Roast Beef was delicious. Staff were very hard working and nothing was too much trouble for them will definately be back.

Well what a great Sunday night.I had a complete U-turn at 7:10 p.m. I was in my baggies ready for an ultimate chill out & then I was convinced by my friend tp come to Lywis's gig at The Robin in Brentwood at 8...so I literally threw on some clothes, hopped into an Uber & was treated to the vocal brilliance of Lywis Cowles ✌!We were witnesses to the songs of Michael Buble, Whitney Housten, Sam Smith, Walk The Moon & even Les Mis !I'm telling...book this guy in for another gig...the audience were loving every second...including me ☺.

My daughter and I ate here Monday 6th March, friendly services, great food, large portions and nice surroundings. We will be back.

2 delicious steaks, double cooked steak chips, corn, onion rings, salad and a lovely bottle of red for £30 - what is there not to love! Great food. Great price. Plan to go back regularly.

This was our first visit and we were impressed.The Restaurant area is quite small but perfectly decorated and furnished to a high standard.When we walked through the front door the bar lady(also our waitress) gave us a huge smile and welcomed us- seldom seen nowadays and much appreciated.We ordered prawn cocktail to start, which was a great choice as it was the best i've had in many years(usually they are very disappointing to say the least) - tons of prawns right the way to the bottom, and brown bread in triangles too....perfect. For main we had the steak this was all good too and came with the usual and a little salad on the side as well(it was also inclusive of a sauce which made a change).If i had a choice i would probably opt for a plate but it does look nice on the board ;-) The service was very good and very friendly. Any finally the wine we chose was a Pinot Grigio for £15.95 which was one of the best I've had(and i eat out quite a lot!) A roaring fire would have been lovely but apart from that i would definitely recommend.

Called into the Robin on New Years Eve day the pub wasn't too busy as they were preparing for the main event that evening, ordered up three stakes cooked to various levels from well done to medium rare all three were delivered as expected. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly, my only criticism is they use wooden plates and my one had a crack through it and my stake juice had run down onto the table and then onto my clothes , so I think it's time too replace some of those wooden serving plates. Don't let that put you off though a friendly and very clean pub serving very good food.

The staff were so friendly so inviting so accommodating. The food was really delicious they mainly offer American type food burgers but the waitress read out the specials and they too sounded nice we went for burgers they were delicious. Will be going back !

Having not been in since the refurb, we thought we would give it a try for a drink. Much improved on its predecessor, there was a good selection of drinks available and the pub is warm and inviting, also much cleaner than before. I thought the drinks were expensive though and we found the music in the bar very loud for conversation although great for the vibe. The back room was a little quieter with comfortable armchairs.

Had a Sunday roast in here and it was delicious and massiveThe staff were extremely friendly as were the locals, the kids played outside where they had a great adventure playhouse/slide, we could see them from our table which was a bonus.The normal menu is American which we were told we could have instead of the roast, we saw some burgers going out to other people they looked amazing we will have to come back and try themWe shared a chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert - it was huge and delicious As we were leaving a singer was setting up to entertain for the evening we plan to go back without the kids one night to enjoy this as I think it's a regular thingThis pub certainly has it all great staff, great food, reasonable price, great garden for kids, great entertainment, we look forward to becoming locals :)

Thought we'd try something new and googled The Robin, great reviews so 4 of us headed up today. First impression we thought ooh not sure we going to like this? But, staff were friendly and very family orientated. Food was worth waiting for, presented well, good portions and good quality. Sea bass was lovely with Mexican rice, extra coleslaw & salad. Partners sirloin was cooked to perfection and presented well, however he did comment that the béarnaise sauce should have been served up warm (not hot). Paninis also great presentation and lots of fillings. Great drinks and service to finish it off. We will be back for certain :) thanks

Been to this venue in a number of occasions over the last month and we have been made very welcome each time. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff are always attentive but not overpowering. There was a singer in the evening and we stayed for what was a great show. Really fabulous day was had by all of the family!

I went to the pub to watch a band on a Sunday night. It's quite an odd 'wrap-around' lay out which wasn't great for the band, but there was still space to dance! Really friendly bar staff and landlady. Toilets nice and clean too!Best bit of the night? About 9pm they brought out bowls of roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds filled with meat and gravy. Tons of it! Great free treat that beats most bar snacks!! I'll be back again!

Well! So glad we decided to try this place after driving past it following its refurb for the last year. Staff could not have made us feel more welcome and then we decided to have food which was really good and at a more than fair price for the size if the massive portions. Cooked to perfection and all delivered together which is exactly what I like.Really good venue and we will defo be going back to this place!!Enjoy!

I went recently with my partner, what can i say it does what it says on the tin. Excellent food and excellent service. The food we ordered was slightly delayed but the waitress, who was also serving behind thebar alone, was excellent and apologised for the delay. We would def go back again. Love the american vibe to all the food on offer.

Visited The robin with family.The food here was excellent and portions are massive, I had the tuna melt which came with chips and salad. The prawn and avocado salad was fresh and tasty!Prices were very reasonable and we will definitely be returning again.

Had a delightful meal here with the wife and toddler. They were very friendly, happy to talk about and go through the menu in detail. The waitress made good recommendations without the feeling of being pushed towards certain items.We ended up having starters, mains and a desert, the three of us almost had to be rolled out. Good portion sizes and although the we were only people inside the pub (at the restaurant end also being a hot day, everybody else was eating outside) it had a good atmosphere to the place. Drinks are from behind the bar so standard pub prices, not a place trying to make money out of drinks as well.Our son had dropped a fair bit of his children's meal on the floor, instead of receiving the normal scorned look from the waitress, she seemed content to clean it up and for us not to worry. Made us feel very comfortable. If you are looking for a bit of variation from normal pub grub, I can definitely recommend this place. Ticks all round. We will go back.

We had booked a table for last night. Unfortunately the chef was off sick but they still managed to serve us up very tasty burgers. Big sized portions. Good outside garden area at back for drinks and quite a few tables out the front for summer evenings. Nice décor inside and friendly staff. We will come back.

Never been to the robin before but myself and a friend came to try the food following a recommendation.Once seated our waitress was very friendly and helpful when we were indecisive on what to order! We really enjoyed the food and the pub had a great atmosphere once it began to fill up! Will defiantly be returning

We came for Sunday lunch after visiting the secret nuclear bunker as 2 families, ten people in total. We were given a table out the way next to the door to the garden so the kids could run around outside. The garden is secure with only one gate in and out with the latch just a bit too high for the toddler to reach. Perfect.Most of us had the roast and the gravy was delicious and the veg cooked perfectly. One of our party had the new yorker burger and said that was the first time he had been overwhelmed by a burger since florida! The kids ice cream desert was spot on with sprinkles and mini marshmallows. The banoffe pie was disappointing it's not hard to make so no restaurant should buy it in.The only thing that let this place down for us was the dog fouling in the beer garden. Visiting with children it's nice to find a secure garden but a shame when you are worried about them stepping /falling in dog mess.

We have been going to the robin for a few years and it has changed so much for the better, lovely clean and friendly, the food is great and well worth the money, we went for an evening with friends to the karaoke night and had a brilliant night definitely going again

Was celebrating my wife starting a new job and only live across the road so always wanted to try the Robin. Popped in earlier with a bunch of flowers and the staff said they would lay them out on the table for me when we arrived,Arrived at time the table was booked to see the flowers set out in the vase on the table ready for me and my wife. Had a lovely meal (really tasty American style menu) and decent bottle of wine. Everything was great and the staff were really attentative and friendly throughout.Would highly recommend :)

Not been in here since the pub was taken over. Used to be a drinking mans pub . The new owners have made it family friendly, and is now a lovely little local. Small but tasty American menu. Staff were lovely and friendly . Can not wait to go back again.

We have been coming to the Robin for over a year now. We alway recommend our friends and family. Food is amazing loving fish on Fridays and Sunday roast are so filling.

Good food , friendly staff , a lovely friendly family run pub/restaurant would highly recommend a visit and will definitely be going back

Omg! Another amazing meal with excellent customer service from the get go and all through the meal. Went with my son whose extremely picky and his new girlfriend. All had roast turkey, the vegetables were perfectly cooked and the roast potatoes were amazing would love the recipe! Afters were equally good would recommend the sticky toffee pudding with custard it was amazing. Thanks again for another memorable visit. Will be back again soon xx

Love how inviting and clean the robin is! Great menu and friendly staff!Nice to know that they have music and karaoke on weekends.

Well run pub , great staff , lovely food, warm n very welcome very clean n tidy and a decent pint and also great laugh on themed nights well recommended pub get yourself down the Robin

What really stands out is the nice bar maid. Also yummy hot dog. Kids loved it as garden to run around in. All the punters seemed happy too. :-)

We have been to this pub several times since it has been taken over and not once have we had bad food.We went on fish Friday and my husband and I took along some friends who had not been before.we all had different dishes which were all beautifully presented and tasted great.It has a great atmosphere and my granddaughter loves it there.great place and always feel welcome.

The pub has recently been refurbished & my daughter had popped in there on fri night & said it had been done out nicely & seemed friendly, so Saturday lunchtime I went with her for a quick drink. Unfortunately they had run out of bottles of prosecco but staff were friendly & food looked good so we decided to stay for some lunch. We had starters which were nice (the mozerella dippers sauce had a really good kick) & we both had the chicken burger. We both had a bite of the chicken & agreed that it didn't taste right, it had the texture of a breast that had been frozen & defrosted too quickly in a microwave & just tasted "odd". The fries & onion rings were fine so we just ate those. I did mention about the burgers to the barmaid but said I only wanted her to be aware of how we felt, she was very apologetic & a couple of minutes later came back with a refund for our burgers (which was sweet & not expected). I don't like writing bad reviews (this is my 1st) & I wouldn't have done if it was left like that as the barmaid was really nice & any restaurant can have a bad meal, however a couple of minutes later a lady came out from the kitchen who I thought was going to apologise but instead was really short with us said that loads of chicken had gone out & no one else had complained, she also said she had tried our chicken & nothing was wrong with it & it was the new sauce we didn't like & really didnt know why we were complaining. She was very intimidating & I didn't want a confrontation so just left & wont be back. Customer service from kitchen staff lacking!!!

Decided to try out this recently renovated restaurant in Brentwood and thoroughly enjoyed out visit. The food was great with a great fish special although we had the lamb shanks which were cooked to perfection. There is also a nice selection of American style food and Italian coffees. I do like what they have done with the renovations as they have made it modern but kept the rustic charm of the building.Overall a good evening and I'd say suitable for anyone (families,couples etc)
