We stopped by at Merrymeade tea rooms for coffee, tea and cake. We didn’t book but arrived at 11am and got a table straight away (overlooking the garden).

Honestly the best place for afternoon tea I’ve been to. The setting, the staff and most importantly the food is amazing. Took my mum today as her friend told her it was the best place (which I already knew) and she was not disappointed. The lovely staff were so welcoming, lovely fresh and clean surroundings and such well kept gardens with lovely views. All the food was lovely, nice fresh sandwiches, cakes and warm scones with fresh tea and coffee. Honestly couldn’t fault it and can’t wait to go back. 5***** all the way.

First time at the tea rooms and it was lovely. Great setting and a lovely feel to the place. Staff were really lovely and nothing was too much. We had the afternoon tea and it was lovely. Fresh sandwiches and very yummy cakes. The only criticism was that there were no chocolate cakes in the selection, but what were there were fresh and very tasty. Would definitely go back as their normal menu items looked amazing. Well worth a visit.

We went to Merrymeade tea room for the Afternoon tea for a friends 70th birthday celebration. I actually arrived 30 minutes early in error but the staff were amazing and let me wait at our booked table for my friends to arrive. Once they arrived we ordered our chosen drink and soon after the plates with sandwich’s and cakes arrived. All I can say is it was amazing the sandwiches were all freshly made and the cakes were home made and tasty. Whilst chatting we notice another table had jacket potatoes and I will say now they looked massive and we all agreed we would return just to try those out. This is a little gem of a tea room not from from Brentwood High Street so if your shopping in the area give it a try.

We visited Merrymeade tea rooms with our two dogs as I’d seen they offer a doggy afternoon tea, a % of which goes to the local dog charity. It’s a beautiful setting with the country park next door for a walk to build up an appetite The dogs loved their generous platter of biscuits, muffin and puppicino We enjoyed our lunch too, with a nice selection of sandwiches, toasties and jacket potatoes Next time we will have Afternoon tea and a glass of Prosecco!

The wife and I fancied a nice lunch and this didn't dissapoint. We arrived and found a lovely house in Brentwood near the town centre. So a shop then lunch is easy to do. The food quality was spot on and there was loads on the plate for big eaters. The staff were attentive and food arrived quickly even though they were very busy. Looking forward to our next visit already.

Popped in to the tea rooms for lunch, parking available which is very handy. Sat outside on their picnic benches on a nice sunny day. I had coronation chicken sandwich which was really nice on bloomer bread. Cakes looked amazing but too full! Only wish this was open at weekends!!

Had my daughter’s baby shower here. It was beautiful. The room was elegantly set up for us with appropriate displays for a baby shower. The food was lovely and displayed to a very high standard. They went far and beyond with service. We had 4 youngest under 10 and they set up a table especially for them with a suitable Afternoon Tea for them. We were not made to rush and we’re very discreet with service. I have no hesitation in recommending this venue. In fact going to go back for Afternoon Tea myself. Karen and your daughter Alex thank you for helping to make Gemma’s Shower for memorable.

This tea room is very very expensive for what I would describe as very average food . Sandwiches are £8.95 and bread so thick you would break your teeth . Jacket potatoes again £9.95 . Even there coffee is expensive. As we now have Gail’s and Pretamanger on high street I will be going there .

I was taken here by my wife as a treat as it was the last Friday I would not be working before starting a new job. We were greeted by a young lady and shown to our table. Very nice atmosphere and only a few tables in the room. It all looked very quaint. We both liked the teaplates on the table. Our order was taken and drinks were delivered quickly. The food was delivered and it was all fresh. Food was very tasty. The cakes were delicious. It wasxsll served on a vintage bone China tiered cake stand and the tea was in a vintage teapot with little delicate teacups. Never knew this place existed but now we do - we both want to return as the whole experience was fantastic.

Located in Merrymeade House, off of Sawyers Hall Lane, this charming tea room is such a lovely place to visit. The tearooms are lovely, the quality of the food and drinks is second to none, with lovely china crockery (a decent cuppa always tastes better out of a china cup)! There is also ample outside seating in a pretty garden for when the weather permits and plenty of parking outside. This is such a great place to visit, I must admit to going there frequently, everyone involved at the tearoom are super friendly and efficient. Many thanks to everyone there!

Came to visit daughter on placement from uni. Wasn’t busy but was told food be about 30 mins was over a hour till we got it. Husband had a lasagne and daughter and I had ultimate sharer, which was only 2 of each different selection?? Wouldn’t class as ultimate as needed at least 4 of each thing to feed 2 people. Husband said lasagne could had been bigger portion as well. Food was nice though but bigger portions would be great. Staff were all friendly can’t fault them. Would visit again if bigger portions.

I am horrifies to say that following buying an expensive over priced bacon sandwich the bread was green and mouldy when I got back to the office to eat it. I will not be returning and recommend others to steer well clear. The wait time for a simply sandwich is extortionate even when the cafe is quiet you can easily wait at least half an hour if not 40 mins for a sandwich. The mouldy bread was the final straw. How they can increase prices so drastically and provide food that is out of date is beyond me and a heath hazard. Be safe

Was the only person waiting at the bar. The owner was taking to what I assume was a vendar, gave them a free sampler of 4 beers. I waited 9 mins at an empty bar to be served and nobody served me so I left. After 3 minutes I decided, as I was the only person at the bar, to not ask to be served. Can’t judge them on anything else.
