The best restaurants serving Italian food in Scotland

Food excellent, prices competitive and most of all the staff were amazing and so helpful when you are having a meal with a toddler, they help make it so comfortable. Also a beautiful setting. Delightful, highly recommend.

The best pizza in town, I’ve been to many places in Italy and ate a lot of pizzas so I know what I’m talking about. I would really like a ball pizza with fish and pizza 4 cheeses and ideally with truffles❤️

The pizza is still tasty but I felt more ( as the Americans would say) nickel and dimed. To explain- the place was once cheap and cheerful. Now, however, 3 of us spent £120 for a pizza each, 2 starters between the 3 of us, one cocktail and one glass of wine each. Example of a slightly greedy approach...£2.50 extra for a wee pot of garlic mayo which is just too much. House wine now £25 per bottle. So go by all means but your bill will mount up unless you have only a Margherita pizza and a glass of water and who is going to do that!!??

A real gem. Superb seafood plus, great service and reasonable prices.

Good place to just sit, eat, and enjoy a slice at your own pace. A relaxed dining experience. Sat for close to 3 hours with colleagues and stopped ordering about halfway and never got asked to leave or handed a check. Just chilled!

Excellent service by Harriet who filleted my fish perfectly at the table and was a wonderful host. Brilliant jazz band there, a perfect pack drop for our meal. Thankyou so much

Restaurant with truly Italian dishes and atmosphere! Tagliatelle with salmon and pizza excellent for being abroad! Excellent service, sensitive and welcoming staff. Absolutely positive experience!

Update:revamped menu Pietro sausage pizza doesn't have the chili paste anymore which really affected the flavour. Beef lasagne was pretty decent Original review: Pietro sausage pizza was great, they're really potent w the sausage umami and the chili paste made from minced pork which has some actual heat. Quite unexpected given the general tameness of Scottish restaurant food. I definitely recommend this particular pizza, although their dough is more the fluffy but still dense type which means not much crispiness. Ravioli daily special was not good. The gorgonzola (it honestly tastes like Tesco's camembert if not for the hint of blue) in the sauce didn't mix well with the pumpkin puree within which was mild and of a completely different flavour profile. Visited Bar Aldo for the first time in years, due to us moving further away from the area. Honestly can’t rate this fantastic restaurant highly enough. We were there as a family of 7, celebrating our Granddaughter’s birthday, and all of us agreed that the food and service were outstanding. There was a great vibe about the place, with a lovely clientele. The staff though, were the icing on the cake, for us all. Friendly, attentive and excellent service all round. Can’t wait to visit again, now we know we can get a train, nearly to the door. Thanks to you all. 👌😋💕
