Ristorante Piccolo Mondo in Renfrewshire

today I visited this restaurant for the first time and I have to tell you that I am very pleasantly surprised... the service was nice and unobtrusive, the dishes were served quickly (of course you had to wait a while for some of them, but it was still quite fast), and the place itself: very clean and tastefully decorated now probably the most important thing: we ordered four different dishes, I had the rack of lamb, in addition there was also the classic lasagne al forno, pasta principessa and linguine alla marinara; and I have to tell you that I am veeeery pleased, the food was really delicious, my guests that I was with also left the place satisfied and full, we also ordered desserts and here too there was no surprise: everything was very tasty so with a pure heart I can rate this place as one of the most pleasant I have visited recently... I highly recommend it!!!

Food was eventually delivered 1 hour after the original estimated time abd was cole when it arrived

We had a brilliant time here for the Hogmanay party. The food, as ever, was delicious. One small quibble, which is not reflected in the rating because it’s never happened before, was the service. I’m not sure if there have been changes recently, but we didn’t have a dedicated server. It proved difficult to get a drink at time - with a wait of nearly 30 minutes at one point. Overall, it was fantastic and would recommend it for couples and groups celebrating New Year.

Went for the Thali lunch and it was lovely, excellent value for money and tasty food, we'll be back!

I was there on sat with my 3 friends for the boozy brunch,which is great,we had starters also,the food was gorgeous starters and mains,the service was amazing,the staff are all so friendly would def recommend the lo Ely restaraunt

We were taking 2 of our Grandchildren out for a proper Christmas treat (not mcDonalds lol ).Our grandson had never been before and absolutely loved the food! He said the lasagne was one of the best he had tasted! I personally have been going to the Piccolo for so long and can honestly say they are consistent with the quality of Food and the service.We are lucky in Renfrew to have such a great eating experience on our doorstep...Well Done.

We visit the restaurant often throughout the year , food , service , atmosphere is always 100%. Jim and his team are always very friendly and helpful . I would recommend Piccolo Mondo it's definitely worth a visit , you will never be disappointed.

food was freezing when it got here, driver was rude, never again will i order from here

Had planned to go for dinner on the 27th December and ended up walking out. A festive menu on this date is shocking. Do restaurants not understand we've had 2 days of festive food and people just want normal food. They made no effort on even just making a pizza. Will definitely not be back at this establishment ever again

I shouldn’t be writing reviews on Christmas Day but I couldn’t wait to complement the management and staff at Piccolo Mondo. 5 adults and 2 boys aged 6 and 11 made up our party and not a complaint between us. I would say 7 clean plates but the portions were generous and not everyone was able to finish. We couldn’t believe the huge choice of starters and mains listed on the menu. I just don’t know how they were able to cope with such a choice on Christmas Day but cope they certainly did. From we welcome we received as we walked through the door until the thanks we received as we walked out the door, every member of staff we encountered was professional yet friendly and we were made to feel not only welcome but very special. I don’t know how they accomplished this as they must have been under enormous pressure with a full restaurant. The service was excellent and we never at any point felt rushed or that we were sitting waiting to be served. The atmosphere was very balanced, not too noisy but not stifled or restricted and the lovely live piano music just added to the ambience. To finish I must return to the quality of food which was exceptional. Such a wonderful family Christmas Day dinner and so good we have already booked for next year. Service was amazing and the food very tasty.

This place never disappoints. I had a work friend visiting from York on a Tuesday night and she said she would meet me in Renfrew. I thought most places would be really quiet and so was really delighted to see so many tables in here on a Tuesday! We had the focaccia which was amazing, seafood starter, Cacio el Pepe and the scallops and king prawns linguine. It was all delicious and Jim the waiter was so lovely. My friend loved it. Can’t wait for my next visit, so lucky to have this on my doorstep!

My husband booked a table for my 40th birthday. We were with our children, who are 16 and 10, and our mothers. We were given the pre-theatre menu. The pate is absolutely delicious, as is the haggis starter. The lasagne was nice but I thought it'd be a lot tastier. My family said they enjoyed their mains and the desserts looked lovely. The restaurant is cosy and warm, with the piano player adding that little bit extra. We were seated at the back which isn't quite as warm and cosy but nice nonetheless. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food came out promptly and my birthday cake was brought out to 'happy birthday' on the piano, which was lovely. The manager (Jim I think) gave me a nice pen 😆 I'd like to try the a la carte menu next time and hopefully be seated nearer the piano.

Gorgeous restaurant with delicious food! Visited on Saturday night for a family meal for the first time and was very impressed! Food delicious with generous portions! It was very busy when we went (7:30pm) but service was still very good and we felt in no rush to leave which I like! Would definitely return! 🍷 🍝

Great food, great service! Loved my meal and would definitely recommend.

We have lived in the area for 10 years now and never tried this place. So last minute decided to have dinner with our 2 girls before the Halloween parade. The food was great and fussy 5 year old ate all her spaghetti Bolognese, which told me instantly the food was good. We were served by a few waiters that night, but one being the owner I presume who was lovely. I would definitely recommend to anyone, and will be back again😊

The food is always great from the Piccolo Mondo and it was tonight. Just Eat though delivered the wrong food completely, then I got an email saying I wasn’t getting refund. I went online and proved I was right and was refunded. Lady at PMondo helped

Visited today, I must say the focaccia’s bread was the star of the show, I could have ate loads more of it! We had a wee deal on it is on, two courses and a glass of wine! A big shout out to our outstanding waiter Liam!

It's like coming home to Family.

You know, this is on our doorstep and we hardly visit. I’m struggling to think why. Outstanding food, service and ambience. You’d never believe you’re only 2 mins from the house. Worlds apart, quality food and friendly service.

Awesome food and first class pudding too.

My friend and I were a bit stuck last night as we'd made a booking with Pendulum in Paisley however an error with the booking system meant reservation was cancelled. They were very rude to us and left us with no reservation at 7pm on a Friday night. My friend said she'd heard Piccolo Mondo was nice so we called and fortunately they had a table for 2 available, although they were still busy. We were so pleased as the food was delicious and the staff were so lovely, welcoming and attentive. Will definitely be back here.

First visit to Piccolo Mondo in a very long time. Greeted at the front door by a very friendly lady and shown to our table. Menus provided promptly along with fresh water. From ordering the food, the starters arrived in no time and were really nice and authentic. Main courses were as described and the fettuccine was absolutely delicious. Great food, friendly and attentive service and beautiful surroundings. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Food was ok, much better to have in the restaurant. For the price paid, the portion sizes were small. Will just have in restaurant from now on.

Perfect as always. From the moment you walk in yo the moment you leave your made to feel special by the polite, friendly and professional staff. They have an attitude of nothing is any bother for them. They are more than happy to help. Adding to the ambiance of this Italian restaurant. Its decorated tastefully with picture of Italy, Renfrew and multiple newspaper articles about the restaurant. As for the food it's always top class. Cooked to perfection and delicious.

Hadn't been for a while and this was an excellent lunch.The lamb dish was exceptional and prices are very reasonable for the set meal. It is a very pleasant room with outstanding service from same staff I remember from previous visits.

Absolutely delicious food and staff very friendly. Very impressed by the relaxing atmosphere and piano player just topped it off. All in all a beautiful place and we will definitely return.

Had a fantastic night here celebrating my daughters birthday🎂food & service were excellent loved the decor & layout.10/10. Not sure if the guy was head waiter or restaurant manager but wee met your sister& husband at gourock higland games on Sunday what are the chances of that.

From the second you walk into this restaurant you can feel the quality of this establishment and the friendliness of the staff. The quality of the food is amazing and the staff will help you choose from the extensive menu. Finally, sitting there last night with the piano playing was a joy to behold. If you want to feel like a millionaire for an authentic Italian evening then go here.

This is my favourite restaurant and like to go a few times a month, food is amazing & so is the staff, especially Jim who’s been there for many years, such a lovely man. Just purchased another 2 itison vouchers

This was definitely one of the best evenings my mum and I have had. Upon arrival we were greeted by the most friendly host who was very professional. The service and food were absolutely superb in every way. I could not say one bad thing about this place. I highly recommend this place to everyone! Thank you for making our first evening in Glasgow so special and memorable.

Brilliant restaurant made to feel very welcome with my partner and child staff even gave my child crayons and a picture to colour in while we waited on our food and that was some of the best I have been served

Received a voucher for a gift as myself and my husband love this restaurant. For a change we went to the one in Renfrew. The quality of service and the food was amazing. Staff were so friendly and helpful as always. I couldn't finish my main but asked if it was possible to have it be boxed up, which they did no bother. We were also kindly given some focaccia which was so lovely and generous of them. This focaccia is the best I've ever had period. This restaurant and their other one in Glasgow City Centre is highly recommended 😊

Horrendously bland. The Seabass was just the fish with a few potatoes broccoli and carrots. No sauce or seasoning of any kind. The mozzarella fritta was undercooked. Jelly like cheese just isn’t appetising I’m afraid. Waste of money.

I don't understand why the reviews on here are 4.5 stars. The food was like weatherspoons only triple the price. Decor is lovely and that's about it. They sat us in a little hallway area where you first go in with people constantly passing our table. We were about 50cm away from the couples next to us and could hear every word they said. We had the set lunch menu which tasted like it was a warmed up frozen meal. Presentation was very poor and food tasted cheap. It's as though they have their name as a good restaurant but have lost their way and it's all about the money. They crammed us in and out in 45 minutes for a 2 course lunch at £40. We had haggis, black pudding and mushrooms for starters, the the house pasta dish. Our experience was so poor - very disappointed.

I have dined @ the Piccolo on several occasions. More so, pre pandemic as I’m not a resident. This warm family Italian restaurant in Renfrew, is a regular haunt for family friends. The decor is a wee bit outdated. The cuisine is moderately priced. They offer a vast menu. The service is great! It’s fantastic for large gatherings. They are extremely accommodating for guests that have special dietary requests. I’ve never been disappointed with my meal.

Went in on Saturday for a takeaway was told that they were short of staff and not doing takeaway and then was told I can get a takeaway at 8pm which was not good as about to leave a party of six were arriving the were taken into restaurant they must have had enough staff to serve the party of six never before have a went into a place that does takeaway and told they can’t make a meal up unfortunately I have to go back to this place as I have a voucher for this place but they won’t care as they have already been paid in advance

First class family restaurant and staff we were well looked after. It was our sons birthday we both ordered Sea Food Platter i struggled with mine son scoffed the lot first class. Will be back again if not their then the Glasgow one both first class restaurants.

Phoned today at 11.30 24/2/24 to ask if they done takeaway and can use gift vouchers that we had from Xmas I was told yes. So went in tonight the 24/2 at 5.30 to order food but was told due short staff they could not do a takeaway but could do one at 8pm which was no good for myself as about to leave a party of 6 people were taken into the restaurant must have had enough staff for them or they would spend more money than me on a meal.in all my time eating out or getting takeaway I’ve have never been refused a meal as takeaway especially when it’s the owners son who is saying no for takeaway.unfortunately I have to go back to this place as it is a gift voucher but the restaurant won’t care as they have already been paid for the voucher. If I could give zero rating I would shame on you piccolo mondo

food was disappointing, garlic bread was extremely dry tasteless was nothing like garlic bread, chips were not cooked properly,hard on some,, went in the bin. risotto was lovely tho.

What an outstanding restaurant. I cannot rare this place highly enough. They went out of their way to cook me dishes that weren't even on the menu!!!!!! The customer service is absolutely amazing and the food was delicious. The prices were very reasonable and the place was busy, especially considering I visited on a week day. It was so good I and my colleagues visited here for the 2 nights we were staying in the area!!!

Birthday pre-theatre treat. Warm & genuinely friendly welcome when we arrived. Table ready for us. Staff were attentive throughout our meal, plenty of choice on the menu. Food served hot, and well presented. Our plates were cleared. We are already planning our next visit.

Amazing...food, service, staff, atmosphere. Had a great time with my girlfriend, loved every dish but as a coffee lover, a special mention to the tiramisu which was soo good and lighter than air. No question we'll be back 😃

Lovely place, the staff are always very welcoming and the food is always good. Take away can be a little hit or miss in terms of how hot the food is but it always tastes amazing nonetheless.

Always a wonderful meal whenever we visit. This was a family Christmas meal out, and it didn't disappoint. Food is always delicious and well presented. Staff are very attentive without being intrusive. Looking forward to our next visit.

Four of us had the Celebration menu food and drinks all inclusive, quality of food outstanding and piping hot! This is a traditional quality restaurant we will be back!

We enjoyed our Christmas Day Dinner, the food choice and quality was excellent..service was a little slow which was totally understandable as the staff had been under pressure all day..we'll done to everyone but especially the Senior staff members.

What can I say, we had booked a number of months ago for Christmas day dinner. Party of 3 myself, my husband and my elderly mum. We have been here nearly every year for Christmas dinner and it doesn't disappoint. Unfortunately, my mum took ill in the morning of Christmas day. She was unable to attend, but she insisted that my husband and I went. We hadn't just paid the deposit we had paid the food bill in total and were not sure what would happen. We knew we would lose the £25 deposit at least for my mum. I telephoned to explain and followed up with an email. Our food was delicious, steak was huge and service was great even whilst the restaurant was so busy. There was no rush and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. We had 2 bottles of wine and our cappuccinos were excellent with the added bonus of Ferrero rochet (my favourite!). The manager Jim approached our table and asked about my mum which I thought was really nice. He confirmed to us that the food bill that we had paid for my mum had been used against our drinks bill and there was a £20 deficit owed to us. He provided us with a £20 gift voucher meaning I can take my mum to lunch when she is better. They did not keep the £25 deposit and provided us with the total food bill for my mum which had been paid in advance. We were told we did not need to ask for a bill as staff had been made aware and to enjoy and leave whenever we were ready. After a great experience, great food, lovely atmosphere, and great hard working staff, this was such a nice touch. Can't thank them enough and will return time and time again. Not a lot of restaurants would have did this especially on Christmas day. What a great place with lovely staff. See you soon

I was pleasantly surprised by Piccolo Mondo. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but inside is lovely. We went for a festive menu and the turkey was delicious. The red wine was amazing too. However, what really stands out is the service. From start to finish real care was shown to use thought the meal and we were made to feel very welcome. A live pianist was playing and the place was clean and tastefully decorated. As far as the local area goes this is a very nice restaurant. My only suggestion would be more options for gluten free AND vegan as a crossover, it’s not the most inclusive menu for dietary requirements. As a haiku: A real local treat Inside, festive warmth shines through, Service is so good

The food in this restaurant used to be authentic and home cooked hence why we used to be regular customers, not been in a few years so booked a table as we always had good food in the past only to be massively disappointed ! when the starter of spicy sausage came it was bland and tasteless, it tasted like a shop bought sausage from a supermarket, the garlic bread was also bland not enough garlic butter on it ! As part of my main meal roast potatoes were included but never in a million years were they roast potatoes, they were either tinned potatoes or giving them the benefit of the doubt new potatoes threw in deep fat fryer for a couple of seconds ! Thought you couldn’t really go wrong with roast potatoes especially if your a restaurant. Desert was nice and was well presented, that and good service from the waiters was the only positive from the dining experience, we found the food we had was mediocre so won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Best Italian around can't be beat 😋

This is such a lovely restaurant and is definitely iconic in Renfrew. I had the Festive Dinner with family to celebrate my niece's 40th birthday. We had such a good meal. The food is delicious . Two of the party had the Turkey with all the trimmings and both said it was so good and there was plenty of it. Another had pasta bolognese which she thoroughly enjoyed and along with my niece, I had Sea Bass. We were given two fillets of fish with green beans, Bearnaise sauce and sautéed potatoes. It was absolutely delicious. So tasty. For dessert, we had a variety; all excellent. Beautifully presented as every course was and just delightful. I had the Christmas Pudding with Sambuca and tradition was upheld as it was set alight at the table and was just delicious. We had such a lovely meal and the service was excellent. Just after we paid the bill, I happened to mention that we had enjoyed the meal very much and that we were celebrating my niece's 40th birthday. One of the waiters, a lovely gentleman wished her a happy birthday then appeared with a giant sparkler in a bowl with ice cream and we all sang 'Happy Birthday' I thought that was so lovely. We will be back. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Visited Piccolo Mondo in Renfrew last night for dinner. The restaurant was busy with a lively and warm atmosphere. The pianist created a lovely environment. The staff work hard and they were very attentive towards us. The food was delicious, we had arancini for starters and chicken and chorizo pasta for our main. The bottle of red wine we had was delicious as was the coffee. Excellent Saturday night meal 👌 We're 'll be back very soon. Thank you 😋

Excellent all round. Food was absolutely delicious and it was amazing having such great restaurant quality food from home.

Never a bad dish or experience in Piccolo Mondo. This time we used an Itison voucher which was great value. Service was fantastic as usual. Calamari was delicious. Lamb stew was perfect. My only suggestion (which does not mark the restaurant down in the slightest) is that the cheeseboard could do with a chutney and an Old Fashioned would be a welcome addition to the cocktail menu. Piccolo remains our favourite place to dine as a couple or with family and friends.

Top Notch...we took family for our daughters 40th Birthday...they even took her cake and after our dessert had the piano player play happy birthday...the atmosphere in the restaurant is such that everyone joins in! Jim and all the staff look after every table as if you were the most important customer. Leo is just the best when leaving as he always asks if everything has been to your satisfaction...We really are lucky in Renfrew to have such a wonderful Italian restaurant. Keep up the good work everyone..We will see you soon again.

Michael & I are from Ireland and we had fantastic dinner with Michael’s brother Frank, Frank’s son Brendan & partner and Frank’s granddaughter Niamh & partner. They are living in Scotland. Beautiful setting and we were given the round table as I requested. Staff were fantastic and very helpful. We had different food selection. The fillet steak that I had is to die for. Enjoyed everything. Definitely will go back again the next time we visit Michael’s brother Frank. 💯 to the staff

We had lunch to celebrate my sister's birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and we all agreed that we would return in the future. Staff were very attentive and made us feel relaxed (James was particularly friendly and helpful) so a big shout out to all the staff. My sister even received some ice cream with a huge sparkler/candle and James led the singing of "Happy Birthday"! Fantastic restaurant, highly recommended.
