A restaurant tribute to the Edinburgh born artist Paolozzi. Great atmosphere, the decor full of Paolozzi works of course. We did have some initial disappointment, as the menus posted by users on Google are old and they no longer do the pasta dishes, it's mainly for Pizza. However the pizza was excellent (with lots of salmon) and so were the small plates we tried.

Excellent service! Amazing food!! We enjoyed this restaurant and had a delicious meal, all of us ordering Margherita pizzas 🍕. Recommend if you're in Edinburgh 🙂

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly. My food came very quickly. The menus you see here aren't up to date, and there was no pasta. Unfortunately, I don't really understand the appeal of these oddly shaped pizzas; I would prefer a round one. One half of my pizza was a bit burnt, and there were burnt spots on the bottom too, which always affected the initial taste on my tongue. Something on my pizza tasted a bit smelly, but I don't know what it was. Overall, the pizza tasted no better than average, and in some places it was unappealing. The waitress was really sweet, though.

Good pizza, friendly staff. I'd be happy to go again.

Really good food, service was very good apart from a little slow but they made up for it with some free olives and the atmosphere was amazing

Paolozzi Restaurant & Bar offers delicious food and exceptionally friendly service. We truly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be coming back!

Came here for pre-marathon pasta dinner and their special menu did not disappoint! We also had 2 vizslas 🐕🐕 tag along and they were welcomed nicely! The food was very delicious and decent size portions for the price. Amazing tiramisu 🤤 it was just a notch too loud…

Just had an amazing experience. Bella and Mike provided top-notch service with huge smiles and great vibes. The beer selection was on point, and their pizzas were absolute perfection! Can't wait to come back and enjoy another great night out.

Update:revamped menu Pietro sausage pizza doesn't have the chili paste anymore which really affected the flavour. Beef lasagne was pretty decent Original review: Pietro sausage pizza was great, they're really potent w the sausage umami and the chili paste made from minced pork which has some actual heat. Quite unexpected given the general tameness of Scottish restaurant food. I definitely recommend this particular pizza, although their dough is more the fluffy but still dense type which means not much crispiness. Ravioli daily special was not good. The gorgonzola (it honestly tastes like Tesco's camembert if not for the hint of blue) in the sauce didn't mix well with the pumpkin puree within which was mild and of a completely different flavour profile. Went for pizza with family in evening mid week a couple of weeks ago and was disappointed tbh. Pizza was soggy and one still managed to be rather burnt on base. Maybe caught them on a bad day but felt rating wasn’t deserved.

Great pizza and the service was on point! Definite satisfying for a pizza craving. They have a good selection of local beers as well.

Had a family lunch here and it was a fantastic experience. The service was genuinely outstanding — friendly, fast, and attentive. The pizzas were absolutely spot on: crisp bases, quality toppings, and packed with flavour. I also tried the Untitled IPA from Edinburgh Beer Factory and was seriously impressed — it easily outshines Punk IPA. A great touch: they offer kids’ portions of their pizzas and pastas, which was perfect for our visit. Great spot for a relaxed, high-quality lunch. Will definitely be back!

PLEASE READ FOOD The food was ok, the dough was not bad but they did economy on the ingredients. The 4 cheese pizza had ONION on it!!!! For people who don't understand it is like putting pineapple on spicy pizza!!! Oh and also I ordered spicy pizza because i love spicy foods, and it wasn't spicy at all!!!! The Margherita was good though. STAFF The staff was great, the waiter was really relaxed, polite and kids friendly (2 people). ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere was great and comfortable. CONCLUSION I would say good place but overpriced

This is a great wee Restaurant. Fabby food, beer, cocktails. Friendly, attentive staff. Great atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We will be back.

Good pizzeria with good ingredients. A must-do.

This food looked promising but couple of the pizzas were a a bit too floppy and runny as they had too much cheese or sauce. The dough was lovely though and starters of Calamari and focaccia were incredible.

The staff were delightful, the pizza delicious and the restaurant a lovely light and spacious place to dine. Loved the artwork too and the house wine was very good. Highly recommend 😊

A little disappointed to be honest. I spent some time looking for the best Italian restaurants in Edinburgh and this was always high. However, two of the three items I wanted were unavailable. OK that happens but when I did get something (carbonara) it was watery and insipid. Service was impeccable though.

We got a table for two on a Wednesday early evening even without a reservation :) The service and the ambience were really great! The pizza itself was also delicious, although one was unfortunately a bit burnt. Basically a good pizza but not great :) You can definitely do it.

Brilliant little Italian. The host greets everyone personally and is very knowledgeable about the food. Great with and for kids, with good portions. We had the special ravioli, the carbonara, kids pizzas, garlic bread and calamari. The ravioli was the firm favourite. Good wine list.

Reservamos con antelación como una mesa de 14 y nos hicieron muy bienvenidos desde el primer minuto que llegamos. Una mesa un poco ruidosa, no los ha puesto en fase. Toda la comida y bebidas eran deliciosas y a un precio razonable. El personal se unió a la diversión , tomando nuestras fotos y siendo en general servicial . Sin duda recomendaría este lugar para mesas más grandes si es tu cumpleaños o lo que sea. Punta superior . . . . Tiramasu martini

We really enjoy this restaurant. The food is excellent, the staff are really good and Gino is an excellent host. When empty, it can appear somewhat cavernous, but really recommend an excellent place to eat.

Stopped here quite late and with no reservation made. We were veeery hungry. Were very well received and quickly served. Pizza was alright, nothing to shout about but that's perhaps due to living right next to the original Rudys, so always have to compare any pizza to theirs. Would definitely recommend and come back

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic Italian restaurant in Edinburgh, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. Being of Italian origin and quite particular about authentic cuisine, I was genuinely impressed by the exceptional quality of the food—it was simply wonderful! The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it perfect for our group of 9. We were delighted to find a spacious table that accommodated all of us comfortably, which can be quite rare. The staff was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and always ready to make our experience even better. The drinks were equally impressive, beautifully crafted, and complemented the meal perfectly. If you’re looking for an authentic Italian experience in Edinburgh with excellent service and a great atmosphere, I couldn’t recommend this place more highly!

So this one is tough. Food was a solid 5! Great lasagna. Sauce was awesome, drinks were really good! But…the service was a bit…hectic? Not sure if they were short staffed or what but it was a bit scattered. And oddly they crammed all of the few guests together on one side of the mostly quiet dining area. Felt too crammed in and very impersonal Would have been fine if the place was packed, but it wasn’t and was just an odd eating experience with it mostly empty.

Whoa! Blew me away with the raviolis. The pumpkin ravioli was Michelin quality and the sauce was to die for. I highly recommend getting the special. You must try it. I tasted the carbonara, and it was of the highest quality. Service was great too. Do it.

We were a party of 6 which didn't book but the manager himself and staff chipped in to rearrange to fit us in when they didn't have to. They were courteous and proffessional. It was lovely to see the manager speak and converse with all his customers. Food was great, glad we got to experience it.

Love the food. Bruschetta with anchovies and Calamari always a winner. Likewise the pizza is just to my liking. Enough spongy crust to dip in the left over aioli fom the calamari. Team are friendly too. Drinks are tasty - daughter loves the homemade lemonade, and the wife has their negronis via a drip!

Mediocre pizza for Edinburgh. Visited Paolozzi given the high rating, but was very disappointed with the quality of the pizza. Given it is round the corner from Civerinos, I would recommended popping there if you have a pizza craving. The service was great though.

I love dining at Paolozzi. The service from Gino and the rest of the staff is friendly and the food is always excellent. I treated myself to three course with wine and a coffee and left feeling like Mr Creosote (IYKYK). Top marks and I'll be back again before long.

It wasn’t very crowded; it was a quiet place. However, it was so cold inside that I almost had to sit with my coat on. The staff were attentive, and I found the pizza quite tasty.

We had a really great night. The pizza is fabulous, super atmosphere and friendly staff. Background music created a lovely vibe and the restaurant was very comfortable and warm on a cold and wet Edinburgh night. We especially loved the beer glasses! Very good value too.

Pizzeria in zona centrale offre un ottima birra e pizze che non lasciano un gran ricordo ma comunque migliori di tante altre in questa città. Servizio un po’ sbrigativo ma probabilmente dovuto all’orario (dopo le 10.00 chiudono…) prezzi tutto sommato giusti.

Great atmosphere even on a Tuesday night - helped by the "pub quiz" that our table won handsomely! To judge by the experience of our table of five, the food and drink here is good, and fair value for money.

This is my third visit to this restaurant. Food was fantastic. I had king prawn linguine and my daughter had a margherita pizza. There was a wee bit of a mix up with my cocktail which took about 25 minutes to arrive and then was served to the wrong table. When the cocktail finally arrived I was told by the waitress that it was on the house. Thank you for the good will gesture it was appreciated. All in all it's a fantastic restaurant and I will return.
