The best restaurants serving Italian food in York Yorkshire and The Humber

This restaurant was a great find. Food was excellent. We had a mixture of steaks, fish and pasta dishes with a lovely side selection of vegetables. All cooked to perfection. Dessert's were good to. All reasonable priced. Would recommend Silvano's.

Just happened to find it near the castle in York. Fantastic food! Home made pasta, fresh sauces and Parmesan. Light pizza base and home made desserts. Best Italian I’ve been in for a very long time

Excellent all-round experience Food top quality, service friendly, attentive and professional. The guy serving the front area deserves a pay rise. Although young doesn't need to change a thing. Many thanks for a pleasant evening.

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience here. The food was delivered upstairs without any cutlery. I didn't mind and went downstairs to get some, making sure I went to be Tiro so I was taking cutlery from the place I had ordered the food. The 2 chefs were busy, one had just brought the food to my table, I took a knife and fork from the counter and the man who had just delivered the food snapped my head off. I explained that I had just ordered from him and he hadn't brought us any cutlery... He had just been at my table 2 minutes before so I would have expected him to recognise me. He continued to look at me in disgust and shake his head at me... I found it hard to understand why someone could get so angry over disposable cutlery. I will not be ordering from here again.

Amazing restaurant - food was delicious, served quickly. Nice and cozy atmosphere, not too loud, not too quiet. Best of all was the staff, who were attentive and absolutely lovely. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an Italian. Prices also fairly reasonable.

Friendly and super-efficient service, even for our (pre-booked) group of 50! Food was amazing - fresh, delicious, and hearty. Portions just right: generous but not overwhelming. Highly recommended, wish I lived nearer so I could eat there regularly.

We would just like to say a massive thank you to Joe and his team! The pizzas were amazing! We had so many complements on how nice they were. Joe catered for all our guest with special dietary needs such as vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. We would 100% recommend you in the future to all our friends who plan to get married they really did go down a treat. Thanks again Joe.

My wife and myself went to our local restaurant on 13th March 2022 after many years of visits and found it as always beyond excellent! We started with a garlic bread pizza style; My wife had the chicken Cacciatoria which was brim full of the most tender chicken in a sauce that was to die for and with beautifully cooked vegetables. She was unable to finish her meal and at the Staff suggestion we had the remaining part of the dish boxed to take home. I ordered the 'normal' Chicken Kiev Calzone Pizza, it was huge!! the biggest I have ever had, and we have travelled a bit; the pastry casing was beautifully made and the filling heaven. I tried my best but could not eat it all...so again brought back home to eat tomorrow. The service was attentive and professional, and we noticed that they made special fuss of the children on the next table. The only sad, nay disastrous news, is that they are closing as the owner is subject to advancing years; they close after Easter this year...great sadness! we will miss it.

Anteriormente había pasado por el Café Valeria un par de veces, pensando que era una reposición del Café Valerie. ¡Me equivoqué tanto! Caffè Valeria es independiente, propiedad de Yorkshire y solo tiene otra sucursal en Wheldrake cerca de York. Me vine la semana pasada para un café y estaba completamente convencido por el personal encantador, servicial y profesional. Necesitaba un Americano descafeinado como eran más de las 2 pm. A menudo los descafeinados son débiles y acuosos. La oferta de Café Valeria fue maravillosa, llena de sabor y una excelente crema. También tuve un delicioso pastel de higos y nueces hecho en la sede de Wheldrake. Los otros pasteles y tartas también parecen muy tentadores. Estoy encantado de recomendar Caffe Valeria, sin reservas.

Our main item didn’t turn up, restaurant wouldn’t send another, my partner was left without his meal after waiting an hour, really poor service.

El lugar perfecto, en un edificio georgiano muy grande. Llegué un poco temprano y Dan y su equipo era muy acogedor y amable. La comida era perfecta, bien presentada y deliciosa y los tres miembros más jóvenes de mi familia realmente disfrutaron de su comida al igual que los tres adultos. Estaba en una excursión de un día a York, pero sin duda volveré a visitar.
