The best restaurants serving Italian food in West Midlands

Not sure what's going on with this restaurant.... In the past it has generally always been very good but afraid we will not be using or recommending it to anyone in the future. Like some other reviews, we made a reservation well in advance for two people for a Saturday night. Turned up at the time booked only to find the place closed. No sign up to say why they may be closed and unable to get any reply from them when you tried to phone, not even a recorded message. They had my mobile but did not even have the courtesy to phone to say they would not be open. We were not the only people on that night to be somewhat surprised. As we arrived, a party of four also arrived to be greeted with the same frustration... Even if they were to change the way they ran their restaurant, they don't deserve the business if they treat their customers in this way. No guarantee of a booking or them even being open would be my worry! There are plenty more good eating places in Knowle - avoid this one and try one of the others.

Yes, it would be nice if you updated the timetable displayed on the internet...which mentions that the pizzeria is open until 11:30pm...;) and actually: surprise!!! it is closed from 16:00!

Very disappointed. Soggy under cooked pizza base, couldn't eat it. It was virtually raw. Look nice . My wife's was the same. Will not return

Trying to think of something to moan about here because I'm in a moaning mood but I'm struggling. The whole visit was spot on. Good food, good service , beautiful and clean place to eat. If you like your pasta

We have been to Ask in many locations but this was the best we’ve been to. The service was really good, but the food was excellent. The best Ask meal we’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend!

I booked a table of 30 for my daughters 16th surprise birthday meal and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, everyone loved the food and the service was just as good we adjusted our numbers several times and nothing was too much trouble. Will most definitely return thank you

Food was top notch. Amongst the best Italian restaurants in Birmingham. (1) family owned, with amazing values to serve their customers (2) all food is freshly prepared at the restaurant on demand (3) catering to all kinds of dietary requirements (4) we had 4 different kinds of pastas, served with flavoursome veggies on the side - all flavours complimented each other really well. (5) the staff were welcoming, atmosphere was warm, and overall experience was wonderful.

Went to the Napoli on Saturday for the first time. We had the chefs special - Italian sausage, cheese and nduja, also a polo prosciutto pizza. Both were great with the special being especially nice. The staff were friendly and warm, they seemed invested in the place which is a great sign. The place itself and the atmosphere was very warm and inviting. Definitely would go again.

Myself and colleague enjoyed a superb meal at Da Gino. I've been a few times and the service from Elenor and Gino the owner is always warm and memorable. The food is fresh, the menu a great range of genuine Italian favourites. Save some room for the Tiramisu!

Lovely chips and lovely girls always polite and helpful come in most Wednesdays for a lunch time special. Best chips ever made!

The pizzas arrived completely ruined—squashed, toppings everywhere, and sauces spilled inside the box. I called the restaurant directly, but they were unhelpful and kept insisting it was “impossible” and told me to contact Uber Eats instead. No apology or resolution was offered.

I had been served by Lilly, she was great, sociable, hard working, informative, made us laugh and the food was lovely, was taken out by my daughter as a mothers day treat and we had a lovely time, Lilly even made recommendations on drink and food, she was also attentive as my daughter had allergies to fish and nuts, when we arrived sat 29th mar 8.pm this place was packed and the staff were all working hard serving customers, clearing tables, bringing out food, the guy doing the drinks and the other guy bringing trays of drinks to the tables were doing a fab job also. Would definitely go back again, well done to all on shift this day and especially Lilly 👏
