Milano Ristorante in Herefordshire, County of

I have lived in Leominster for nearly three years and, to my knowledge, this restaurant has been closed for at least two of them. The place appeared to be undergoing a refurishment for a while but that is no longer the case. No sign of life as of the date of this review.

An historic and traditional pub with many 'local' patrons getting together and relaxing. We happened upon it and were in time to secure a table for a well-cooked and delicious Sunday lunch with all the usual trimmings

We arrived on Wednesday 11th August 2021 and the restaurant was closed even though the website says it is open. Drove around the country lanes and stumbled across a Riverside restaurant which offered an amazng menu and fantastic service.

Visited on impulse for lunch. We had salmon and sea bass, both beautifully cooked, and very generous portions. Lovely desserts. Service pleasant if a little slow, but we didn't mind that as everything was obviously freshly prepared.

Lovely friendly staff very helpful food was delicious and plenty of it service a bit slow but if you are patient the experience is well worth the wait

So please we choose the Milana the food was delicious and staff are very helpful will go again I had the spaghetti marinara cook just right and the sauce was very tasty

We ordered from the Valentine's menu which was special and varied. The food was fantastic and the portions huge. We were so full we brought our pudding home! Friendly service too. We'll definitely be back.

We had a fantastic Italian meal there. Service was good, staff very friendly.

We visited this restaurant as a 'last minute' decision, there was a group of six and fortunately they were able to seat us straight away. It was raining hard outside so maybe that was why it was quiet. A very wide and varied choice of menu for a small restaurant. A little bit cramped but as there was six of us, not a real problem. There was quite a long wait for the main course but again, there was six of us and I guess the kitchen can't be that big (for the size of the restaurant). Anyway, when it came, it all came together and it was all fresh and hot. Everyone had something different and it was all very tasty with good portion sizes. Chips instead of mash was no problem and everyone enjoyed what they had. Reasonably priced, including the wine. Will definitely return.

Not a lot to actively criticise. We ate here on a Saturday evening and the food and service were both OK, but the food seemed rather bland - I had a veal escalope and my wife had the duck with honey. However the zabaglione was excellent (although never having had it before, we had nothing to compare it with) Altogether a reasonable meal for reasonable price.

Service was charming; pasta was tasteless, textureless slop. Little wonder the restaurant had no customers at 8 in the evening.

Visited for lunch on a Thursday. Friendly helpful staff who will guide you through the menu if you atre uncertain about any of the dishes from the extensive menu. Food had the feel of home cooked rather than the chain restaurant offers of many Italian establishments. no need to book for lunch in the mid-week although I would think that it gets very busy on weekend nights. Menu items are fairly priced.

Proper traditional Italian food, homemade, real flavours. Variety in the menu with lovely different choices, salad,delicious starters, pasta, pizza fish and meat. Definitely my favourite Italian restaurant in England.

My wife and I recently visited this restaurant in spite of a few somewhat critical reviews. I am pleased to say that the meal was excellent with such large portions that we struggled to finish them.

Leominster doesn't have many foreign restaurants, so I was pleased to find Milano. Good service, good food, and really substantial portions.

Lovely shops and architecture to meander around, has a calm friendly feel. Note many shops only open Wed-Sat. Pay and display parking and free wc’s close to centre, with free main street parking. Just past parking is a green and beyond a lovely cafe situated next to a notable ancient building with lots of history that was completely moved to its present spot - history noticeboards and pictures for information.

Excellent pizzas, other dishes available, excellent desserts. Very pleasant dining area.

Great, wonderful evening in a relaxing place.. The food was delicious, i chose veal with mushrooms and cream and my girlfriend ravioli crema di gamberoni. We coudn't leave without eat dessert: for me signora bella and my partner tiramisu. Affogato and macchiato! Everything at reasonable price, served by friendly staff!

My and my friends we visited Milano! We order starters: asparagus, insalata capresse and funghi fritti. After that we couldn’t stop here. A variety of dishes, so we eat also pollo milanese, tortellini, and scaloppine caruso. Tiramisu and zabaglione alla marsala deserts. Delicious italian food! Great! Good service and price!

Amazing food! My and my friend visit Milano restaurant for first time. For starters I eat mussels and for main Lasagna. My friend eat pasta. Everything it was very good. Fresh, delicious food good service and price. I reccomend!

Authentic, freshly prepared and above all, delicious Italian cuisine with a vast choice of dishes to choose from in a great bistro atmosphere. Attentive staff and definitely worth a visit. We will definitely eat at Milano's again!

Visited for lunch. Exceptional slow service, less than average food , expensive. Perhaps this was a bad day to visit but very poor and not worth the money.

Pasta was stale and chewy with dubious sauce...antipasti was dry and dull..Pizza was ok though...service was prompt..would have complained but didnt want to spoil romantic evening

I tryed to eat there, but said on the door 30 minutes open time, come back after 40 minutes still close. So i decide to go somewhere else.

I was over charged 2 large glass of wine and also 1 extra starter he put 4 starters 2 people £96.70 I shell not return back

Really rude chef. Tried to bring out the salad and the main at the same time then decided to practically shout at us how long it takes to cook the food when we had not even asked that we had only wanted the salad before the main. I would not recommend this place and maybe instead of fly tipping there rubbish and try some people skills they might be worth going to.

Visited with two friends on Saturday evening. Food was amazing, service was good and comfortable friendly ambiance. Highly recommend for a relaxed meal out.

Very relaxed. Friendly staff. Although restaurant not busy waited quite a long time for food to arrive. But was worth the wait as very good. So can't complain too much.

Went for a meal with my mother and her partner last night, the food was amazing and the staff were lovely and friendly. The restaurant its self was cosy and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back here again!!!

My sons family arranged his surprise 40th birthday meal at Milano's, with help from the staff. We were welcomed and promptly served, the staff were very patient with our fluctuating guest list. We all enjoyed our meals, my husband particularly enjoyed the swordfish, and the pizzas were delicious. We had room for cake, just !! It was a bit chilly though.

Loved the food and the service was excellent. Even though we turned up late in the evening and were last to leave , we were not rushed at all. Decor a little dated. If we were local we would be regulars.

I ate at the Milano Restuarant on a break during a long car journey. I only ate the vegetable soup which was delicious and the meatball starter was absolutely gorgeous and very tasty! I will certainly be visiting This Restuarant again when passing through Leominster. The Staff were very welcoming too.

Sorry guys BUT clearly local folk have never had an actual stone baked pizza made in a real pizza oven which yours were most definitely not, trust me, I know a proper pizza when I see and taste one. Don't worry, I won't be back.

Very good food and great atmosphere

Booked via trip advisor by my dear friend from the b.c era! always a gamble but everyone had a superb meal and left feeling very full with a pizza box to snack on the way home in the car!

Possibly the worst pizza I have ever tasted. The waitress was brilliant and very helpful but the pizza was shockingly bad

We discovered the Milano on our last visit to Leominster in October and although we are staying several miles away this time we just had to visit again. Superb service and exceptional food. The Milano never disappoints

Good food and wine all at a very reasonable prices

I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and we were not disappointed, we both had steaks which were very tender and cooked to perfection. Huge portions too much to eat, but they were kind enough to let us take it home. The desert was amazing, fried ice cream?? Best thing I've ever ate. 1000\100 I'd honestly come back here especially with the friendly staff and amazing new decor. It was FAB!

Food was exquisite at supreme prices. It was real hearty Italian food. The renovation to the place is amazing. So much more brighter and modern. The staff are friendly and welcoming and so is the host Dino, will definitely come back without a doubt!

Table of 7 booked for 19:30. Arrived in time and was met by a very pleasant lady that showed us to our table.

You could easily walk pass this restaurant and miss out! We went there there today had the pizza carnivore ....stunning no wonder its an award winning pizza restaurant! Would definitely recommend fantastic service reasonable prices! We will be sure to go back!

Can’t imagine there is a better Italian restaurant for miles around. Wonderful host and chef, great decor and atmosphere, excellent Italian food and delightful service. If you are in or around Leominster this is definitely the place to eat!

Great service in this place. It's quiet but the food speaks for itself good range of dishes and not unreasonable in price. Good value meal. Give it a try!

Newly redecorated, it looks great, and the food is unsurpassed. The chef, Dino, is an award winner many times over, with amongst others, "Pizza chef of the year" *and* "Pasta chef of the year" at least a few times each over the last 10 years. Great selection of dishes, don't honestly think I've ever had a bad meal. In fact, I can't recall ever having even an average meal there - they have all been *at least* very very good, and usually are excellent. Do yourself a favour and make the journey if you find yourself in Herefordshire. Seriously. He's that good.

Service and atmosphere are great, good choice on menu, all price ranges, never had a bad meal always been happy with quality.

We have been past on many occasions and finally decided to make it a venue to try. Seated promptly and order taken. Whilst a small but good number were in the restaurant, our food was delivered in a respectable time and we both enjoyed our meals which were very respectibly priced. Shall return soon for another enjoyable visit.

Traditional Italian Restaurant in the middle of town. Good service, great Spaghetti Bolognese. There was us and two other people in there on a Friday night - that's all. I know it was January, but this place deserves to do better. Would definitely go there again.

Just been again (we go about 10 times a year) and had a very nice meal in a restaurant with good atmosphere but £1:50 for a jug of tap water!? That's taking the....

I never knew there was such a great Italian restaurant in Leominster. I had a very poor pizza diavola in Cardiff the other day. Would the same pizza taste better, made by the award winning chef? Yes! This was no doubt the best pizza I’ve ever had.

Food and service excellent with a great atmosphere. Both members of staff and other diners were very friendly.

We recently visited Milano’s for a xmas party. The food was amazing, fresh and tasty. The service was excellent, the girls very attentive and was a lovely touch to have the chef come and say hello. Will definitely be returning.

Had a great meal. Friendly staff. My wife got a bit drunk and collapsed on another couples table sending food flying. She was then sick everywhere but the staff were very understanding and helped me carry my wife to a taxi. Thank you.

I went there with my Mum & Other half and the staff were lovely, not too long to wait for the food. The starters were delicious, but then the mains came, one of the pizzas tasted like curry, which one of my companions didn't like and the meatballs were so spicy, they made my eyes water.

Having travelled to Italy a lot in the past and regard Italian food as the best in the world you will not be disappointed at Milanos. My wife and I took our Italian friends and they agreed. In fact they liked it so much we are all going again next week

I ve been first time on this beautiful restaurant,aparently small but very italian atmosphere with speciphic music and decoration.me and my friend,we had a lovely meal,on arrival were asked where we would like to sit,very polite staff. The starters were very tasty,and the fillet stakes was even better,accompanied with a lovely bottle of italian red.very filling and great value for money.we will definetly be go again.very enchanting!!! Walked in lunch time today. Only one couple inside. Friendly welcome and order taken. First course came rather tardidly. Almost 45 mins later main course arrived. Having lived in Napoli for many years we had got very used to eating swordfish so that is what we had ordered. It was completely inedible my wife couldn't even cut hers with a knife and fork. Everything was cold. Paid for drinks and starter and left. How anybody in the area could maintain that this was a five star establishment must have extremely low standards. E una vergogna per l'Italia.

Last Saturday we've been on milano Italian restaurant in Leominster. The restaurant was full when we arrived there. Waitress gaved us our table that we'd booked. They have a varied menu, and a lot of choices for every taste. Although we had to wait for our mains, the waitress, very attentive and pleasant brough more drinks for us. The food was very tastefully and excellent decorated. The great atmosphere, pleasant service,very tasty meal and presentation, all had a very good value for money! Thank you very much guys you looked after us, and we will definitely come back again more often!

Visited this Restaurant on a lunch time in celebration mode but sadly there was absolutely no atmosphere there whatsoever.We were the only ones in there so the Waitress had only us to concentrate on which unfortunately seemed to be a burden for her.The meal was very enjoyable no complaints there but her attitude really spoiled it for us.There was no welcome, we requested her attention for drinks then we had mains, she did not ask us if all was ok we then had to ask for desserts she did not ask if we would like anything else such as coffee.We ended up going elsewhere for coffee and consequently some of our party said they would never go there again even though the food was good.

Pretty quiet for a Monday evening, but most of Leominster was like that. Tradition Italian restaurant, pizza, pasta, breads, meat - I went for the spaghetti carbonara (something my mum makes when I'm home and I've tried to have it at Ask but it was terrible!), I was hoping it was as good as my mum's and I was pleased to find it was nearly there, maybe not as tasty, I had to keep putting pepper on to give it flavour, but definitely filled me up! The chef and waitress were friendly and very tidy restaurant.

Me and a couple of friends decided to try some food from Milano restaurant after we saw all the reviews. The place was busy as expected but that didn't bother us. There was a bit of a wait to be served our food but seeing as the food was freshly prepared that didn't bother us. Called in on the off chance seen food rating of 5 star and fairly full restaurant got a table for three. Staff was great although we felt very slow service. Waited for 10 mins before asked if we wanted a drink. Waited over 45 mins for the food and restaurant was very hot and uncomfortable especially with the worn out hideous seat cushions fitted to the chairs. The food was very well done and tasted great. Only one toilet which is shared with both sexes so you have to wait to use it. Staff need further training as at the start we ordered starter and mains which we always do to see if the food is any good and also to see if we can fit in deserts after. We decided that we would order 2 coffees and three deserts when the waiter came to collect our plates. She came took the dishes and returned with a wooden box which contained the bill. We paid the bill and left as we felt that they wanted us rushed out the door but it was now only 9.20pm like I said great food slow service. If only the staff had taken the time to ask is there anything else ? After all it's an Italian restaurant which don't push to sell ice cream or coffee.

Wonderful atmosphere with friendly staff. Food was excellent. Tastefully decorated . Pleasant background music without being too loud. Well worth a visit.

I love the clutter in this bistro, the pictures, the Chianti bottles, the bottles of olive oil hanging from the ceiling - all makes such a change to the modern, minimalist clinical style of places such as Pizza Express and Ask. Not so sure about the plastic flowers though!The food was very enjoyable, lovely juicy pizza (which as usual I couldn't finish) and tasty calamari to start with. The waitress was friendly and helpful until it was time to go home - we thought we might walk home but in the end decided on a taxi, thinking it would be no problem to organise this at the restaurant. However when we asked the waitress if she could tell us the name of a local taxi firm (I was expecting her to actually say she could ring for one for us), I was most surprised at her response. She was quite dismissive and just said no, no taxi. Fortunately I was able to organise a lift, but we could have been stranded there - after all not everyone takes their smart phone (assuming they have one) to a restaurant. I have never been to a restaurant that cannot order a taxi for you.So I recommend this bistro for its ambience and food but make sure you know how you are getting home!

We clocked this place when wandering around the town and decided to go for tea on Friday night. It did not disappoint. Beautiful food, an extensive menu to suit most tastes, charming and helpful staff, and a lovely atmosphere. There's not many places where you could find food this good and have 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts for under £35, but here it is!

The restaurant was full when we arrived; we were shown to our table that we'd booked. The menu was full and varied - a great choice for all our party. Although we had to wait between courses the waitresses were attentive and brought more wine when we asked. The food was excellent; presentation, taste and very good value for money.

We came here for dinner, on the basis of other TA recommendations. The asparagus and smoked salmon starter was excellent. I had spaghetti pescatori and my wife had chicken with mushrooms for mains - again, both excellent. The coffee was a little disappointing, but the staff were lovely - attentive and helpful without being intrusive. Well done.

We were really looking forward to going to this restaurant and love Italian. It was really really disappointing. We have been to Italy many times and the food was poor.

OK - first - if you go into any town on business and walk into a restaurant alone (funnily enough we still need to eat even if unaccompanied), staff - please do not ask "FOR ONE?!?!"I'm getting mighty fed up of it! Here the waitress actually tittered¬!! (to the point I asked "what is funny?!"Anyway I let that go.The place SO NEEDS a complete overhaul. It's one of those where there are bottles and plastic flowers stuck EVERYWHERE (ceiling, beams, walls) and hideous prints but worse - that sense of DUST! I had the chicken with some kind of brandy sauce (no 63 if it helps) and it was WAY TOO SALTY (I did mention it).I then ordered the chocolate mousse (partly to couterbalance the main), and it was WAY TOO SWEET but also covered in that awful cream out of a can. So all in all I was not impressed. Afterwards I walked round Leominster and discovered places I'd not seen up til now so I at least have a better idea of where to head next time. Sorry - I run a business myself and know its not nice to get any negativity but here they really do need to pull their socks up. And no sniggering at a single woman for lunch (I OFTEN eat alone as I travel). Its my idea of heaven! Normally.

First class food and service in very pleasant atmospheric restaurant.all pasta dishes from lasagne to pizzas very tasty.

We had been to Milano's many years ago but friends keep recommending it so we went for our wedding anniversary. It was a Sunday evening and I would suggest you chose another night as it was very quiet and lacked atmosphere. The waitress was pleasant but not experienced nor comfortable with us - I guess we expected an effusive host welcoming us like long lost friends as we have experienced in other Italian restaurants. We did not get that and it took the edge of what would was a nice evening. We will try a Friday or Saturday next time....That being said we will eat here again. The food was very tasty and fresh, the price not excessive and the choice wide. We had prawns to share with garlic bread to share as a starter and the both were very enjoyable. I had veal which was tender and tasty while my wife had sirloin steak with blue cheese which she enjoyed very much. My veal only came with sauteed potatoes while the steak came with french beans and chips - we both felt more vegetables would have made the meal perfect. We did not have room for dessert but the coffee was good. To be recommended but not on a Sunday!
