Me and a friend came to this resturant @ Massimos earlier this week and the place was really lovely and cosy. Bulding is intimate, full of character and a very quaint town. We had a lovely window seat in the afternoon. I had a delicious Lasagna which was top notch and my friend really enjoyed his grilled steak. All round a great inviting resturant with tasty authentic italian food offering and more charm than the standard chain resturant offerings around the town. Would highly reccomend A**** - delicious and quality food - beautiful cosy resturant in characterful and charming surroundings - lovely owner - great choice

Delicious lunch prepared and served by Massimo. We enjoyed the caprese salad as a starter and veal lemon plus excellent pizza! Small & intimate.

This place serves the best coffee in town and if you love all things Italian you’ll love the authentic atmosphere in this independent cafe. The owner Massimo has had restaurants around the world and there is always good and interesting conversation with him to be had in quiet moments in cafe. This is real cafe culture here! Also great pizzas served.

This was one of those 'happy accidents' you occasionally have. Looking for a light lunch and being disappointed by one nearby establishment's offerings of 'gluten free' fare, I spotted the very same words on the board outside Massimo's Caffe Vineria. We inquired... ...suffice it to say that over the course of the rest of our week in Stratford we lunched there twice more! We even lured our two friends there for the third visit and they were very complimentary. Caffe Vineria is a small and unassuming eatery that is too easy to walk past. But once inside you can enjoy a cosy and convivial snack, meal or drinks and it is easy to get talking to other customers and the owner. Encouragingly, we spoke to regulars but also to newcomers (like ourselves) who were already planning a return and to leave good reviews. It's a small team: Massimo and Isabella. The food is freshly prepared and cooked - it won't be on your table in the blink of an eye - be patient, sit back, relax and enjoy the company because the food is worth the wait. Downstairs there are a few small tables but upstairs there is a larger area with much more room for diners. The property is National Trust owned and has the right sort of character for the location. It's not 'posh' but it has a great deal of charm and character. The menu is not extensive but has a nice selection of options that feature gluten free options including pizza (which my wife was raving over!) It's reasonably priced too. Massimo does the cooking; he's clearly passionate about what he does and takes the time and care to produce good food. The family roots include Bolgna so expect a really tasty Bolognaise! Thank you Massimo, Isabella and also your customers - we are already planning a return trip in 2024.

Fabulous little place. Great food, good wine and beer. Superb home-cooked food. Wonderful atmosphere. Always visit whenever we are in Stratford-upon-Avon. Can't recommend highly enough. Leave plenty of room for generous portions cooked by the warm and friendly chef patron, for whom nothing is too much trouble.

What an absolute gem. Cafe Vineria you did not disappoint. We had a fabulous dinner freshly cooked by Massimo the lovely and friendly owner. I had the special of the day, Linguine with seafood. It was absolutely delicious. Hubby had pizza which he totally enjoyed, all homemade to order. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The character of the Caffe, Massimo and the beautiful food. Don’t miss it, a real treat.

Fitted us in at lunchtime on a Saturday, despite being a party of 6. Lovely atmosphere and staff, with the main man meeting greeting, and doing the cooking. Enjoyed a hearty italian style linguine, and and home made pizzas. Slightly on the dear side, but food, atmosphere, and being able to accomodate us more than made up for it. Hope to be back again soon.

Real Italian food and excellent Gluten Free options, the lemon drizzle cake made with potato flour is absolutely delicious

Wonderful hidden gem. Friendly service, beautiful food, lovely atmosphere and very good wine list. We are planning to return as soon as we go back to Stratford upon Avon and will make sure we book. Massimo is a wonderful character and he seems to attract other lovely customers.

Wow! Amazing food in great surroundings. Visited with our two children who said it was the best Italian food they have ever eaten, as adults we would agree. Fantastic little place great conversations with the staff. You will not be disappointed!

Visited the restaurant at lunch time. Massimo welcomed us and took our order my husband had pizza and I had a sandwich on ciabatta bread. It was gorgeous. We will definitely go back

On the day we visited, finding somewhere for lunch in Stratford upon Avon proved to be surprisingly difficult. So we were really pleased to find that this authentic Italian café was open. We had a charcuterie board and a cheeseboard accompanied by an excellent bottle of wine. The service, as always, was excellent. We had a very enjoyable lunchtime.

I was recommended to try this restaurant by a friend and was not disappointed. My husband and I enjoyed the best authentic carbonara and delicious tiramisu that we have ever had - we have eaten a lot of Italian food including in Sicily and Sorrento so the stakes were high! Massimo was very welcoming and explained the specials on offer. Very reasonably priced too - we both had 3 courses, hubby had a couple of beers and I had an aperol spritz and the bill was £67. Would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. In fact we may return again during our short stay in Stratford upon Avon.

My partner and I stumbled across this restaurant this evening and we're so glad we did! The food was amazing, all freshly cooked with homemade pasta. The flavours were incredible and the staff were lovely too! I'm so shocked this restaurant doesn't have 5*! If you love authentic Italian food then you should definitely try this hidden gem!

My other favourite place in Stratford. Good coffee, nice atmosphere and proper Italian cooking. The sandwiches are excellent, as is all of the other items I have tried. Some have claimed that prices are higher than elsewhere; well, everything is made fresh and it's not...

We had coffee at Caffe Vineria. It is a small family run wine bar (they have a good selection) and restaurant. The coffee was very nice and the place looked lovely.

We dropped on this place by accident after an everyday high street chain was busy and how glad we were. The food was exceptional, the building was lovely. We sat upstairs on a beautiful summers evening,enjoyed exceptional food,could hear ourselves chat, watched the world go by from a table in the window. It's small but that is part of it's charm. We had olives to start, a gorgeous bottle of wine, main meals, deserts and coffee for £70. Less than we were going to have paid in Weatherspoons. Definitely not to be missed.

We visited for dinner and were totally pleased. The restaurant is in a very old historic building not far from Shakespeare’s house. The host was welcoming. And everything we had was excellent. Perfect thin crust pizza margherita, delicious spinach and ricotta cannelloni, wonderful desserts and a good wine list. A really enjoyable evening and at a moderate price. If we were staying longer in Stratford-upon-Avon we would most certainly dine here again.

Having had many lovely visits to the caffe, tasted and taken away the lovely food and enjoyed the hospitality my wife and I paid them a visit yesterday for our usual, a bottle of prosecco. After having passed the time just watching the world go by BOOM all of that lovely experience was shattered. £32, just for a bottle of prosecco which has been costing us £20 all the other times we had been there with food. If that is how you treat your regular customers, look out tourists !!!!!!

You know when you are starving walking around with you dogs looking for a place to eat something (anything really) and you find a gem place, with delicious food, kind owner, cosy space and dog friendly? Well that was exactly what happened to us when we found this place. It surprised us in every point. We had the Carbonara spaghetti... oh, I want to eat that again in another opportunity!

Called in for coffee after visiting Stratford and received a very warm and friendly welcome. Hot chocolate was genuine Italian hot chocolate and to die for. Lovely surroundings and great selection of food. Well worth a visit. There is seating upstairs so if the downstairs area looks full don't be put off.

El equipo de aquí es realmente apasionado por ofrecer excelente comida y un ambiente agradable y relajado. Este es nuestro lugar de visita para que nuestros familiares y amigos visiten Stratford. We had to visit Stratford on business and were a little unsure about the timescales involved to complete-looked at trip advisor and realised there are a multitude of restaurants in a lovely town.

We just went in for a drink which turned out quite expensive, more like hotel price, crazy. We sat downstairs and the tables were very close together almost on top of other customers. Quite honestly this place needs a good refurb too. Will not be returning.

Went there for an evening meal, ordered our food mine came covered in granules of pe and he got 3pper so much of it, I couldn't taste the dish, hated it!!

Visited this quirky little Italian restaurant for a family meal. Dont be put off by the interior, it may look a little random, but this added to the charm. Service was excellent, and staff very friendly and informative. All the food was very tasty and some unusual dishes not always seen in well known "italian chain" restaurants. Would recommend.

True little Italian cafe / Restaurant. Very friendly and excellent service. The aperol Spritzers were excellent with good amount of Aperol. The asparagus wrapped in Parma ham was very good and so was the chicken liver pate on croutons. All in all very good indeed.

The first thing that struck me was how friendly the manager was. He was warm and welcoming with being too over bearing. The building is small and charming. The food was delicious, and they offer many gluten free options.

Popped in for lunch with my two boys who shared what they will tell you was the best pizza ever! I had a pasta dish which was also delicious and the restaurant manager made a real fuss of the kids which they loved. We will definitely visit again.

This is a small and easily overlooked diamond right in the heart of Stratford and ideal to avoid the ‘theatre rush’ crowd . The owner Massimo is a charming host and every dish tastes fresh and like a real treat. One of my favourite places - plenty of space upstairs and I like taking my book upstairs for a sneaky relax on the sofa with a coffee - fab!

Amongst all the predictable chain restaurants, this tiny Italian restaurant rises above them all. Great service, great food and lovely ambience. In Stratford for the weekend have eaten here both nights. Do give it a try!

According to Google, should have been closed when we arrived, but no. "I am here so I am open". A very good meal and a bottle of good red wine followed by an excellent grappa. Lovely.

A group of us went for brunch on a Saturday morning. We were invited to sit upstairs as we were a group of five, lovely space, oldy-worldy with large windows. Cosy and cute. The only there were no obvious vegan options but our host assured us he could alter the mezze to make it vegan. My friend ordered the standard mezze and I have to say what we ate was delicious but we were both really disappointed with the size. For over £14 we were both hungry after we'd eaten and had to pinch bits off our friends dishes to compensate! Lovely food, needed much bigger serving sizes for the mezze to justify the cost.

This is such a great coffee shop which also does excellent food and early evening suppers. It is very Italian and the coffee is the finest you can hope for.

We went for an evening meal with my husband. seated upstairs next to window with no other guests. Window and window silt was dirty, full of cod webs. The whole place looked shabby, mismatched. I ordered Tuscan platter. It contained 4 small (quartered bread slice all together) slices of cold toast, two of which with some congealed "pate", two (about 5x2x2cm each) cheese cuts and 4 slices of two types of meat. And that for £13.95. My husband had a vomit looking sauce on a quartered chicken breast, canned bean and rice with a few slithers of green salad leaves and a sad looking halved cherry tomato. Very disappointed.

Basic food, nothing special.What makes this a one-off visit is a combination of ultra-slow service and the attitude of the staff.35 minutes for a weird bruschetta to arrive (basically cheese and tomato mixture on an over-toasted roll!) and a further 30 before main course arrived. Bordering on unacceptable, with no explanation nor apologies. Yes, they claim it’s all freshly cooked, but the result was very bland, only averagely tasty and quite pricey for such basic food. Overall, we were there for well over 90 minutes – at least 80 of which were just waiting for food.We had a not-very Italian, not-very tasty chicken breast and a bowl of bland spaghetti with a tomato sauce, no alcohol, and ended up with a bill of over £40.The woman handling ‘front-of-house’ seemed to be thrown into disarray with just a few tables. Utterly flustered, muddled and clearly agitated, she interrupted order taking to answer the phone, which she did, bizarrely, on hands-free in the middle of the restaurant. We had to endure a protracted argument with a phone customer over a delivery order. Nice.And she was embarrassingly rude and vocal to a young waitress (who was working her socks off) in full earshot of everyone. Is there any need for that? Sure, sometimes staff will need to be guided, but a full-scale bollocking in public, that’s not what I really wanted to witness, thanks.Definitely won’t go back. Ever. One to avoid at all costs!

Was on the main street and a young man handed me a flyer. So glad he did. It lead me to a great restaurant where the food was excellent, the chef knows his way around the kitchen, and the staff is charming and attentive. There was 4 in my party and no one complained.

Wow, we went here earlier in the year for a bottle of wine my wife and I but this time we had 3 day in Stratford and visited 5 times. MAssimo is a real genuine Italian host who takes so much care and pride in his choice of food and wine and also how they are cooked. Everything but the champagne was from Italy pretty much and the food, though limited in choice, is fantastic. We had the best bruscietta ever and when we tried the pate with Italian ham we were blown away; So much we asked if he would sell us some and he duly obliged after ordering extra meat from the butchers. The wine is amazing and the staff, including Massimo's partner Jane, were brilliant. So attentive and friendly that this is number 1 on our list every time whether it be a coffee, a lunch snack, wine or evening dinner. It is a little off the main roundabout on Wood Street so you might miss it but don't. I am sure it will pay dividends. Wow what a few experiences we had. Oh, The Italian breakfast is one of the best breakfasts I have ever had!

Popped in for lunch while Christmas shopping. Tasty Italian platters, we chose cheese and meat platters and a glass of wine. Massimo and his wife made us very welcome. 16th century listed building, plenty of room upstairs. Our new favourite place in Stratford.

I ordered the lasagna which was nicely done and quite tasty. However I was sitting beside the counter and could overhear one of the waitresses belittling and bossing 2 of the other waitresses around. The overall treatment of her staff made me feel very awkward and uncomfortable.

Dropped in when everywhere else in Stratford was full. It was delightful, quaint and lovely. We were admirably well looked after and served swiftly with good humour, soft banter and plenty of smiles. They do a hearty preshow dinner for £15 a head offering a choice range of starter, main and sweet including coffee to finish. Although it was a Saturday evening, the place wasn't crowded (which was great!) and you could have a gentle and quiet conversation that both of us could actually hear! We left, amply satisfied and will definitely be going back again on future RSC visits. Throughout our dinner, the staff came regularly to make sure everything was to our satisfaction and to ask whether there was anything else we needed. Would that every dining establishment took such trouble over their customers ... maybe they'd earn fulsome praise too! Whenever you're in Stratford, do drop in here, even if it's just for coffee (or tea) and a cake. I have a hunch you'll love as much as we did. Enjoy!!

Independent, very genuine and just great honest food. Had a yummy Caprese, followed by their secret recipe lasagne, washed down with a great Bardolino. Thoroughly recommended!
