Had a takeaway pizza - excellent , sourdough based and real pizza . Tasted great too 👍

Fabulous, friendly, professional and the food was amazing. Pricing is spot on and even sensible wine prices. Will be returning very soon as probably one of the best Italian restaurants we have eaten in. Thank you for a memorable visit on Saturday 31st August 2024. Tonia and Gary x

The coffee is perfectly acceptable and the service is always friendly. The chairs are not the most comfortable in the world but are fine for short visits. The café is on two levels. The loo is on the higher level and this might present a problem for those with mobility issues. In addition there is no car park so it may be necessary to walk some distance. I have often found the range of cakes to be rather disappointing and on my last two visits did not have a cake, rather unusual for me. The cafe is not spacious and in hot weather it can be rather too warm. It is possible to sit outside. Although this review is not gushing I do choose to have coffee at La Doce

Delicious food and drinks, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff. I was there for a birthday celebration, and the "extras" offered in honour of this were a total surprise and very generous. I will definitely eat here again.

The food was very good and I really enjoyed it. Waiting staff were blunt and one was wearing a durex condoms T-shirt, really didn't think this was appropriate if children where to come in. After finishing dinner my partner had eaten 90% of her food and really enjoyed it but the portion was large (which again isn't a problem). The owner then came over to ask "whose is this?" And stated she couldn't just bin the remainder and continued to push her when she said how nice the food was but she was full. When my sister ordered a rose wine she was told the wine was "sub par" which was strange response. When the food came out the cutlery was basically thrown at us and we had to hand the plates out ourselves as it was dumped on the table. But again the food tasted really good!

Amazing food! The waitress, whilst attentive, wouldn't take my plate until I'd eaten everything as she "was not putting it in the dishwasher". She even got me a piece of bread that wasn't asked for to mop the sauce with! It definitely felt more than just being a joke

Decided to try this restaurant last night and it was outstanding! All the food was absolutely delicious, our waiter was so friendly and lovely too. We had an amazing evening and wish we’d discovered this place sooner, it’s now top of our list of favourite places to eat. Thank you so much.

Felt really sorry for the waiting staff, but bringing every dish and drink out one at a time with embarrassing delays was never going to work! They had obviously had little or no training and with less patient customers would just have been lambs to the slaughter! We had to order in advance as we were a large party! (There were only 6 of us plus a 2 yr old and the place was almost empty - just us, a woman with 3 young children and a young couple, this is one of the busiest nights of the week in most restaurants). One of our party had ordered gluten free, when the meal arrived. We checked and they had no recollection of the gluten free order - a dangerous mistake! They then argued over the order, rather than apologise and show any remorse - relating conversations that had never taken place with us. Once they realized, and accepted their error they were apologetic, and asked if our gluten intolerant party member 'still wanted to eat'!? She ended up eating later than the rest of us, inevitably, but a number of us ended up with cold food waiting for others to be served. Some of the food was served on hot plates, my pizza was served on a cold plate, so was almost cold by the time everyone had been served. Although some of the food was good - we couldn't say it was worth the agro! We had an amazing time coming last year under the previous owners, but this experience was really disheartening - especially as an 86th Birthday celebration! We would have complained at the time but didn't want to ruin his birthday further or face the argument we had faced previously.

La Dolce Piazza is a delightful find, offering authentic Italian cuisine in a cozy, welcoming setting. We always receive an exceptional standard of service and would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

I would give this minus 5 if I could. Totally incompetent staff. Could not communicate at all. Confused drinks order. , waited an hour and no starters. Other customers complained that starters not arriving at same time. No sign of our food after an hiyr. Paid for drinks ( bill was wrong !! Can't charge £1-75 for tap water ,surely!). Paid and won't to another restaurant up the road. Dreadful experience. Pther customers saying it was usually great, but gone downhill. Maybe owner can contact me to discuss details.

Excellent pizzeria and excellent service from the proprietor B, her excellent customer service is second to none. This is has to be the best pizzeria in the region with vast selection of choices. Please give it a visit!

Cute little Italian restaurant in the heart of Henley. The food is incredible. However, we must have caught it on a night when staffing levels were short and sadly the waitress seemed rushed off her feet. This led to food and drinks delays Would definitely recommend though 👌🏻

I walked in not knowing it was closed, on a Monday evening. The owner and the chef, Bea, invited me to sit with them, while Bea made me a delicious carbonara, on speck. I was made to feel very welcome, even though they were closed. The carbonara was exceptional.

I've been going here regularly with friends for years and it's always been good, but the new owner has taken the food to the next level. Absolutely superb pasta and salads. Will definitely be back! Update: Went again recently and it's unfortunately gone downhill. The food wasn't nearly as good - in fact, the same dishes our table usually has were different, smaller and in the case of the carbonara very greasy and a bit sickly. Sorry guys; I think we're going to skip this for a bit.

Hi, I'm not writing as a customer but as a civilian who worked there (unfortunately) and saw the most absurd things... like the use of double cream and mozzarella that expired months ago, packages of pasta with mold but still used in the kitchen.. .additions of ingredients to dishes that are not present in themenu with the presence of allergic factors...I attach a photo of one of the products that I found already expired so you realize what a mess it is...unfortunately there are people who don't even know what the health and hygiene regulations mean in force

Delicious Italian food, we had the Ragu, carbonara and shared a pizza. All delicious and our new favourite Italian spot. Our waiter Declan was very courteous and always checked out orders were fine and if we needed anything else. We will be back soon thanks for a great evening!

Second visit in a month on an evening drive back from the airport. Booked in advance but was not full. Nice atmosphere and decor. Prices reasonable . I had the king prawns with garlic but a major for me was far too much chili. But the portion was large.Extra bread was offered A garlic bread starter was ok. The bruschetta was ok. I had la dolce pizza which was awesome. My partner claimed that the risotto had chili in it . Weird. The other pizzas were good. Four people. Four starters and main £90. Two Desserts. No alcohol. One cup of tea ( the pot was less than half full and barely gave a full cup, it wouldn't have been much to fill the tea pot !) Hope the owners read this. It was the little things that spoilt it. But will be back for the pizza 🍕.

The service was slow but ok. The wines were good. But the real letdown is the food. The calamari appeared to lack fish and stodgy, bruschetta was a pile of soggy bread with tomato. The aranchini was ok. The mains were terrible, the veal milanaise was initially undercooked, then deep fried to a crisp - and a vegetarian was served chicken pasta! Luckily they were taken off the bill. With so many other good options in Henley, give this a miss.

Sadly the young staff have to deal with complaints of slow service and poorly prepared food for the clueless amateur owner. I didn't think it was that complicated asking for 3 pizzas to take away....I was wrong...LOL.

It was a sunny day when I arrived at La Dulce Piazza I decided to sit on the terrace with the restaurant in the back, the waiters were more than friendly, attentive, friendly, hospitable... I ate some appetizers, olives and picos, a lasagna dish. main and a delicious cheesecake...😊 thank you very much for everything 🙌😊

This was our first time visiting, and despite the “new management”, we were made to feel welcome and really looked after. Although some of the staff members seemed relatively new to their roles, they were attentive and showed true potential. The food was absolutely delicious as well, especially since there was only one chef running everything! We will be back for sure.

Birthday celebration. Service very slow, approx 3 hours for two courses for a group of 6 with only 4 others in restaurant at the time. Food reasonable when it arrived, albeit one main course arrived when others had finished. Young staff require more training. We live in Henley and like to support local eateries but questionable when we will return.

Now under new “management “ as of 22nd aug 23. Greeted by a young lad, who to be fair very personable but way out of he’s depth. Presumably put in this position by the manager, who spoke to non of his new customers. Drink and food service extremely slow. Looked to me like all the manager wanted to do was drink at the bar and sort out the knives and forks. When a table complained about the service and food availability, the manager had miraculously disappeared leaving the young waiter to fend for himself. Lastly, atmosphere awful, way too many spot lights and not sure how much of the music was Italian. Save yourself the journey and avoid.

Didn’t realise when booking this has recently changed owners. This Italian used to be authentic food, excellent service with an authentic atmosphere. Tonight was poor at best. Service was slow & young waiter was ill equipped with knowledge & waiting skills. Food was ok but constant burning smell from kitchen was very off putting. 1 of our party was ill after the meal! Sadly will not be returning or recommending.

I came here last year was great. Today I have no words. Shocking service , terrible coffee asked to make it twice still bad. Staff not interested. What a shame we won’t be back .

Nice food, needs online booking as struggle to get through on phone to book a table.... no answer. Also miss the peroni on tap they used to have, bottles aren't as good.

Warmest welcome in Henley from the husband and wife team who seem to be working every night of the week. Maria is Italian and cooks the fantastic food. Jamal does a great front of house job. Highly recommended. I've eaten here regularly over the past 12 years and it's consistently good.

Really superb home cooked fresh food. The wife is the chef and the husband runs the bar and restaurant. This is no big chain churning out the same stuff. It's cooked with love and care and always tastes amazing and the service is superb. It works because it is their family business and they are lovely people who really care about the quality. We live a few villages away and come back time after time. Always really look forward to it and have never been dissapointed.

Maria and Gamal make a lovely atmosphere. The wines are excellent (have the montepulciano d'abruzzo) the beer is great and the pasta is always cooked absolutely perfectly. Well priced evening out, finished with an excellent home made tiramisù

We had the most wonderful meal at La Dolce Piazza here in Henley-In-Arden. We booked in this evening for 3 of us to celebrate my mom’s birthday and the entire meal was absolutely FANTASTIC from start to finish. We felt extremely comfortable from the moment we walked in, from the hand sanitiser and well spaced tables to the extremely warm welcome, the music, and atmosphere - a great start to the evening. Our drinks arrived promptly (Really nice pint of Peroni) our starters (the calamari and the mussels) were very enjoyable. Our main courses (Spaghetti Con Gamberetti, Lasagne, Spaghetti alla Carbonara and a side of cheesy garlic bread) were all super delicious! The service was really warm, helpful and friendly throughout our meal. They went above and beyond with their birthday candles and singing happy birthday, my mom was so surprised and she really loved it. Their tiramisu is one the best I’ve ever eaten (including in Italy!) On top of it, their menu is very well priced. We have eaten at La Dolce Piazza many times and we have never had a bad meal. This evening was by far the best meal we’ve had there. I will always give praise where praise is due, they certainly deserve it! Thank you to everyone at La Dolce Piazza for the most delicious and very pleasant meal, we really enjoyed everything about it.I highly recommend La Dolce Piazza. I hope that you’ll visit them soon, you won’t regret it. Brilliant!

Haven't been out much over the last few months worried about social distancing etc. We went for a family meal. What can I say Gamal and Maria are so welcoming .. Authentic food lovely atmosphere tables distanced and door absolutely amazing. Will be visiting again soon.!

Went here last night with family, my brother had been before & said it was amazing & we had to try! The king prawns are the best I think I’ve ever eaten! Each course/meal was delicious. My friends and I booked a table for dinner on a 31 degree evening, were the first people of the evening to arrive and so were asked whether we would like a table outside. We said yes, it was lovely in the sun. The restaurant quickly filled with customers outside and in, and when thunder and lightening started (under an hour since we arrived) everyone rushed inside with our full plates and wine glasses so as to avoid the rain. There were only a couple of tables free inside and we were told that 'because we asked for a table outside' we would have to eat our dinner over a tiny counter top in the corner of the room, also over a bin (with no seats) because the two tables were booked for people who hadn't even arrived yet... when we had also booked? The food was generally good but the customer service from the manager was APPALLING offering no discount, no free drinks or apology whatsoever.

Called in on the off chance and had a superb meal at a very fair price . Menu not over priced considering it is on Henley in Arden high street . Service excellent highly recommend this restaurant, we are coming back soon thankyou.

We have just had another tasty pizza from la dolce piazza in Henley. We have had a couple through lockdown, but can’t wait to be able to go back to the fab little restaurant. Italian home cooked food at its best!

Very good lasagne - slightly pricey and disappointed 2 very small rounds of garlic bread. It is a popular restaurant and they are doing a great job but the bread was an extra and disappointed so little of it.The hosts are extremely friendly and do a great offer every night with their 10th customer - you have to pre order your food and arrange collection. Well done to them for attracting people to visit.

We live local and this Italian restaurant could not be more accommodating, we ask for meals of the menu and nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic family feal, we go with my parents, carbonara to die for...

Tonight was our 3rd visit to Le Dolce Piazza and it didn't disappoint. Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and very good value for money. We would highly recommend.

Came here today with my wife and 4-year-old daughter. It was quiet (we arrived after the lunch-time rush, I guess) and the staff were really friendly. The 3 of us ordered things which weren't on the menu but they were more than happy to flex things for us and we had 3 really delicious meals. It was also very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Came for dinner on bank holiday Monday as we've been before and know the food is reliable!There is no specific vegan menu but the bruschetta alla siciliana was vegan and delicious, and for my main I chose the vegetable campagnola pizza and asked them to use some vegan cheese I'd brought with me instead of their mozzarella and they were very accommodating! The pizza was very tasty.

Our second visit, really pleased first time around but this visit wasn't impressive. The waitress gave good service, the food was nothing special. Arabiata was weak and watery, very disappointing. Not much atmosphere, we're used to Italians having great welcoming personality,this didn't exist unfortunately.

My son and I went to this restaurant for the first time this week, and we were so pleased we did, the food and service were very good, and at an extremely reasonable cost, will certainly be going there again in the very near future.

Starter of bruschetta was actually ok. Garlic bread tasty but just a chopped baguette with garlic butter. Pizza was dreadful. I had inferno. Tasteless and reminded me of a frozen Safeway pizza from the 80's. Chilli oil also tasteless. No pizza oven. Possibly worst table of sad looking pizzas I've ever seen (there were 8 of us). Worse than Pizza Hut. The reviews suggesting it is authentic amaze me. Clearly never been to Italy or an Italan restaurant. First time visit. I would never go again. Paid £67 over couple with wine (3 of 8 not drinking). Poor value for poor food in an average venue.
