Pizza Express in Stratford-on-Avon

Empty restaurant…. But only one waiter and 3 cooks. Didn’t accept walk in or allow bookings Tuesday 2 pm. Badly run.

Food was cold, appeared to have been dropped and then stored on it's side for transportation. All the toppings were stuck to the box lid. Basically a cold mush most which has to be peeled off the box.

Waited an hour for delivery, then missed something off my order. Didn’t answer the phone when I called. Ended up driving to go and pick it up myself

first of all the time kept changing when the driver was at the restaurant. Then there seem to be another drop off before we got our order so it wasn't very warm when when we received it.

Good food , service is mid nothing crazy but you get what u pay for.

We've been eating at this Pizza Express for around 15 years and have always been happy with the food, service and general feel of the restaurant. Today was no different, but sadly they informed us that they will be closing this August..... it's so sad!

Shame it's having to close down, as I've been going there since it first opened many many moons ago. Me and my wife had our first date there 7 years ago, and have just had what will probably be the last visit before it's gone. Shame to lose this gem, it really is.

The interior is very nice and there’s a nice atmosphere. Service was ok. But my wife’s pasta was a white sauce soup, at least it was warm. My pizza was ok but nothing to write home about.

Disappointing Sunday brunch. Called in on sunday really quiet, food ok and well presented but premises felt like a works canteen.

Had a lovely evening for my daughter’s 8th birthday. Ian looked after us brilliantly and even surprised us with a special birthday treat…which we hadn’t requested and it was even on the house. Would highly recommend and a big thank you to Ian for a memorable evening.

Very cold and windy day. The place was empty and they did not give us a table. They stated they were under staffed when there was maybe 2-3 tables eating. Not a nice experience especially that we were on vacation and took the time to walk to this place.

Éramos una fiesta de edades mixtas de 11 y estábamos sentados arriba en la zona de la galería. Esto era ideal para nosotros, y nuestro camarero, Daniel, no podría haber sido más servicial. Él se ocupó de nuestros muchos y diversos pedidos alegremente, profesionalmente y consiguió el lugar de pedido de todos, llevándolo todo arriba y abajo con aparente facilidad. La comida en sí era buena, caliente como corresponde, agradable y a un precio razonable, con una gama para todas las edades. Aunque el restaurante estaba ocupado no tuvimos que esperar mucho. Sin duda recomiendo.

It is as you would expect, good for pizza and other Italian food, very good service.

We had a lovely evening. We booked for 6pm, but actually arrived closer to 5.30 as it was raining and cold, they were very accommodating! Fantastic food, really consistent across all restaurants. Service was prompt and attentive, and very accommodating with the 4 children.

Thursday afternoon birthday pizza. Just what I fancied as I had a free bottle of wine with the app! The service was superb. Stefan is a natural at making you feel welcome. It might be a chain but good service made it feel more unique.

Amazing prices. Great food and fast service. Manager and staff were all super lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. Defo reccomend. Will be coming back.

Otra visita, otra visita extraña. es en normal sentarse durante 15 minutos a los camareros no les importa mucho el cliente, pero se preocupan por las mesas. piso era bueno, nos gusta la pasta, nuestro hijo como niños menú. Me puse en contacto con el servicio de atención al cliente para estar seguro de quién tiene razón, a si los niños comen gratis, PUEDO utilizar mi descuento de tarjeta azul nhs. Después del piso w 3 esperó otros 15 minutos para pagar un no estábamos solos que esperaron. mejorar

Delicious food, efficient waitress!!

Food was delivered on time, but it was cold. Wehad to put it in the oven to heat up.

The service was so slow that it spoilt the evening. The dough balls seem to get smaller on every visit!

A good pizza, good quality and would order again. Some good ingredients that others do not offer. I'm still looking for a great Neapolitan pizza in Stratford-upon-Avon!

Great service from start to finish. I know pizza express is a chain but there are unquestionably some restaurants better than others and this is the best one I have been to. Reasonably priced food, that tasted great and was incredibly quick, perfect for grabing a bit to eat before enjoying a performance at the RSC.

Ordered through just eat and after waiting over an hour for our food what arrived what completely wrong. One person didn't like pizza so ordered pasta, we received no pasta at all. 2 pizzas were totally wrong toppings...no option to fix via app, only get refunded, so we rang the restaurant and had no answer. They even picked up then put the phone down on us a few times! Totally ruined our evening, really disappointed.

Absolutely appalling service. Do not order a take away. They won't answer calls. Hang up on you. And even answered leaving no one on the other end. Called 87 times in a row and eventually they just turned the phone off! 7 meals ordered and only 3 were the right orders!!!! These were only the cheap child meals too. Just shocked from a chain like this.

Our first try with Pizza Express but unfortunately not the best by a mile. Over half an hour later than the time suggested at point of ordering and unfortunately not worth the wait. Many better pizza delivery options in Stratford-upon-Avon. 👎

Whilst the food was pleasant the service was extremely poor. We had to chase our mains an hour after ordering. When our meal was brought to the table it was not what had been ordered, and we never received our side. We will not be visiting again.

Nuestra orden fue tomada con bastante prontitud, aunque tuvimos que llamar la atención del camarero para recordarle. Luego esperamos por lo menos 50 minutos para la comida, mientras numerosos pasajeros de reparto entraban a recoger los pedidos. Cuando perseguimos nuestro pedido nos dijeron que las pizzas acababan de entrar, lo cual era extraño considerando que las habíamos pedido casi una hora antes. La comida finalmente llegó a las 6. 45 . Tuvimos tiempo para disfrutarlo, pero nos sentimos apresurados. Parecía como si las órdenes de entrega estuvieran siendo priorizadas. Somos asiduos a Pizza Express y hemos estado en varias sucursales, pero esta es la segunda ocasión en Stratford cuando el servicio ha sido muy lento. Nos hace muy dudosos volver a comer allí antes del teatro.

Food was great. Manager and his waitress (only 2 serving were bickering) he was friendly she was less than accommodating to other tables and looked moody/ had an attitude.

We ordered some food and the delivery time kept getting delayed. We ordered the food an hour and a half before it actually arrived. We tried to call the restaurant 3 times to find out where I food was but no answer. The food got delivered and you could tell it had been sat there for ages. The food wasn’t even warm by the tine it got delivered, I am not happy and would appreciate someone coming back to me on this matter as soon as possible

Servicio muy decepcionante. Tardaron siglos incluso en llegar los principiantes y mucho más para la red. Cuando nos perseguían nos decían que siempre tardaba mucho en prepararse una lasaña. Cuando perseguimos de nuevo se consultó a un gerente. Finalmente llegaron los platos pero solo 1 lasaña (habíamos pedido 2 ) solo para que nos dijeran que la otra se había caído al suelo! Me dieron un canelón que no pude rechazar en esa etapa tardía y fue bueno y lo sacaron de la cuenta. ¿Pero por qué no vino alguien y nos dijo mucho antes que había un problema? La comunicación lo es todo en estas circunstancias.

Nuestra tercera visita a este Pizza Express. Disfruta de visitar principalmente para ver Blanka que es una anfitriona extremadamente amable y eficiente. La comida era excelente - caliente y sabroso. Blanka es un crédito para el equipo y la compañía. Volveremos de nuevo cuando visitemos desde North Devon. Gracias.

Very average experience. Ordered starters and then on arrival of one, told that the other unavailable. Kindly provided a free alternative starter but obviously this took a few minutes to catch up. Main course salads arrived, Nicoise and Buddha Bowl. Both not as described on the menu. No new potatoes in either. Crispy Chicken in Buddha Bowl wasn’t crispy at all. Error on the bill was corrected straight away by very pleasant female waiter. Staff warm and welcoming. Food not actually that nice. Everyone loves Pizza Express but this was sort of OK and cost us £70 approx.

Such Variety, the pizza was amazing.

Start to finish, phenomenal. Great service, better pizza wonderful people. It was quickly brought to us. No issue at all.

Its been a while since my friend and i had been to a Pizza Express. The menu has changed and is varied. I couldn't choose between a garlic prawn pizza and the goats cheese one. The waitress recommended a half and half which is a brilliant idea. The pizza was lovely.

This Pizza Express has too many tables; I could hardly get into my seat. The man on the seat behind me was leaning back and literally touching me which I didn't like, The food was OK. My daughter wanted to use Tesco tokens and we wanted to use a debit card; the waitress said that is not usually allowed.

Normally a favourite of the family but on this occasion let down by maybe a staff shortage but for a group of 7 we waited nearly 45 mins before food was served and not all dishes came at once. We chose to not stay for additional courses due to the lack of service.

The waitress was very good, considering she was on her own.

Out of all the pizza express’ I’ve been to in England, Stratford-upon-Avon has to be the best. All thanks to Cam in the kitchen. I hope he’s working next time I come!

Single best salad I’ve ever had in my life. For I would Sell my kidney for this again.

The building itself has a stunning cosy, traditional interior, the waiters I encountered were lovely and catering. The food is amazing as I expected, and the billionaire sundae was the best pudding I have ever had, anyone who likes salted caramel, you need it.

Well from the beginning this place was gonna be a one star review. We sat down and one my chair legs gave way, leading to an embarrassing moment. I would say we were not particularly well looked after in regard to this incident. Then Magdalena (apologies if spelt wrong) became our waitress. She was slick with the food, provided great customer service and made sure we left happy. Which we sure did. As vegans the food was also great- I love having choice. Would happily return - but only if Magdalena is on shift ☺️

Called in as we were on a day trip and know that gluten free food is available. We were really warmly welcomed and the hostess was most accommodating. What made this different from every other Pizza Express we have visited is that we were given the allergens folder when advising that we needed gluten free food. Our drinks order and starters / mains were taken at the same time and drinks arrived promptly. Food was delivered in a very acceptable timeframe. Throughout we were asked if we were satisfied and then we were persuaded to have dessert too. Food was tasty, service was excellent. Probably rates as the best Pizza Express venue where we have eaten - and we visit others several times during the year.

This was my first pizza express. We ordered three different pizzas to dine in. When they eventually arrived they were just a soggy mess. Very little topping, a gallon of sauce and not very hot. We won't be going back to Pizza Express again....

incomplete order was delivered. driver/delivery person couldn't help. Called restaurant repeatedly but they hung up every time. Walked to restaurant to rectify. couldn't get a refund from them had to go to Just Eat. Won't be using this app again.

Ordered on Just Eat. Incomplete order arrived. Called the restaurant several times but they hung up each time. Walked to restaurant but unable to get refund as Just Eat driver had made the mistake. Restaurant couldn't make the missing pizza as they didn't have the ingredients (suspicious Ed?). Waited for ages for a replacement whilst original incomplete order went cold. Cannot recommend, though it may be Just Eat as fault.

I'm sorry but my La Reine pizza was burnt and had burnt crusts. It was quite dry to eat and tasted as though it had been overcooked. Burnt and dry. I have photos as proof of this was very disappointed to receive it like that.

It was very cold, we were hungry. We ordered 2 takaway pizzas . The staff seemed nice. Diners were enjoying their meals. Our pizzas were very disappointing. The sausage pizza was literally running in grease. Inedible, horrible. The mushroom pizza was OK, but also disappointing. Nothing like the photos, very sparse toppings. Flat dough, soggy. Yuk. Very disappointing. Pizza Express are usually reliable. Shame. Expensive too.

Ordered at home and was disappointed when it arrived. Such a small pizza for what you pay and it looked like they just threw the ingredients on, careless, a little burnt, not really appetising. You get more decent pizza's at one of the Italian restaurants around Stratford.

Always a favourite of ours when we visit Stratford upon Avon with our 6 year old grandson. We are guaranteed a warm welcome and a great pizza each time . We normally have the Romano pizza which is fresh and tasty. The staff Sally and Blanca are so engaging with our grandson and make it special for him. Looking forward to our next visit .

Visited last Wednesday for my daughter's 18th birthday. The coldest restaurant I have ever been to. We sat for over half an hour before being asked our drinks and a further hour for food! The food nice but inferior to other pizza express we have visited. On going to pay a tip the waitress informed me she had already added £17 to for herself to the bill which I had already paid! I left a Google review the "owner" commented saying they wasn't happy about this and could I email them and that email bounced back so I emailed the manager of the restaurant who didn't bother to reply. Shocking service will not be returning not will anyone in my large party. ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩

Disappointed...Came on Wednesday for my daughter's 18th birthday celebration. Sat for over 30 mins without even being asked our drinks order then over an hour for food. A table of 9 of us right in front of the kitchen couldn't be missed especially as we were all divering from the cold! (We had been offered another table but my daughter didn't want to move) The food was good although the margarita had far too much tomato base, my daughter has autism and is fussy but pizza express is her favourite and we have been to many over the country this was definitely over done. To top it off I went to pay the bill and leave a tip, just being polite truth be told and the waitress said she had already tipped herself £17! Never in all the restaurants I have visited has this happened. Especially when undeserved. Edit: Respondent wanted me to contact directly but the email given was blocked and bounced back so I emailed the manager who I know from booking does respond hasn't bothered either!! Beyond disappointing now I've spoken to everyone in my party and they all agreed it was shockingly cold and disgusting that the tip was taken without consent. We didn't make them work too hard If we hadn't been there the restaurant would have been empty!

I love this branch of Pizza Express. The service is excellent! Each time I’ve been, I’ve received such a warm welcome from the manager Sally. I’ve noticed how everyone receives a good welcome from Sally. Great food, great service! Seriously it can’t be faulted. And ofcourse it’s located in lovely Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Sally is phenomenal! Knowledgable, friendly and hugely helpful. Would come just back just for Sally.

Very family friendly - We went with our children and their families - 8 adults and 6 children. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was good.

Great experience at this restaurant after being turned away from ASK at 8.40 as only doing takeaway. Greeted by the manager who was first-class attentive and informative. Great food nice and fresh even sang happy birthday to me and gave me a cake. I had only mentioned it was my birthday in passing. Will be back to eat here again 100%.
