Ask Italian Stratford-upon-Avon in Stratford-on-Avon

I went to dinner with my family on Saturday night before the theatre and informed the staff I have a nut allergy. Two members of staff went through the allergy menu with me for both food and drinks in exquisite detail which is something I very rarely recieve when dining out. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone with a food allergy as I felt very comfortable eating there.

Very friendly staff 0xsana was lovely. Food was so nice better the bella Italian . Was Given wrong garlic bread however manager swooped at no extra charge. Totally enjoyed my meal and enjoyed dining out in the sun .

We arrived at 11.30 as per our booking on the website to find out that the restaurant didn’t open until 12 (a website error) but despite that, we were welcomed by Tony who said it was not a problem. We had very good, friendly service from Tony and Bex. They were attentive & helpful. The food was excellent, hot and tasty. The drinks were lovely. And we took our deserts home along with two deserts for our children. The deserts were very tasty. A very enjoyable experience. Thank you Tony and Bex and the chef who cooked the lovely food.

Ask in Stratford is such a lovely place, Ellie, Tony, Bex and Alex were superb, they looked after me and my friends so well. Such a calm and smooth going atmosphere and the food was amazing. Drinks were served too us 5 mins after we sat down and I couldn’t say anything bad about this place! 10/10 from me! Will 100% be back:)

Sure! Here’sI had a wonderful experience at Ask Italian. The ambience is absolutely beautiful and cosy, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The staff were incredibly attentive and kind, making us feel truly welcome from start to finish. The Linguine Frutti di Mare was outstanding – bursting with fresh flavours, and I could genuinely taste the essence of the sea in every bite. The Burrata Carbonara was something else – rich, creamy, and truly special, a dish that felt over the moon in both taste and presentation. To top it off, the Raspberry Lemonade was a refreshing and delicious choice. A perfect drink to complement the meal. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm atmosphere and exceptional Italian food!

Last week I was out for a walk and decided to have lunch at Ask Italian, I asked for a table and they said there was none because I hadn't booked in advance and I walked out quite disappointed. I decided to go to their website to check if everything was really booked and it actually turned out that I could book in 10 minutes - I was so angry why do I need to book online when I'm already there and they have a free space. I mean if I didn't have a phone with internet at that moment I wouldn't be able to have lunch, it's so ridiculous

Un almuerzo italiano muy agradable en un día soleado. Estábamos caminando por Stratford y queríamos un café. Después de echar un vistazo al menú decidimos quedarnos y comer al mediodía. Tanto la pizza como los platos de pasta eran excelentes.

Really happy with my experience the staff where lovely, and helpful and food was great

One of the chefs seen to use his mobile phone in the kitchen area between serving food on 4 occasions, in the short time we ate our pizza, and then proceeded to prepare food/add garnishes/cheese without washing their hands. Disappointed

We have been to Ask in many locations but this was the best we’ve been to. The service was really good, but the food was excellent. The best Ask meal we’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful food and service, however had an incident yesterday where I booked a table for 9 but was gently encouraged to turn away as the kitchen was closing and they hadn't seen the booking. This shouldn't happen, please modify the website or be more vigilant on bookings

Además de pizzas, este restaurante ofrece un amplio menú. Pedí champiñones rellenos en rebanadas de pan y lubina. Las setas eran excelentes. La lubina estaba bien hecha y venía con papas asadas, tomates, hongos y espinacas. Un toque de limón realzó el plato. Muy bonito.

Gracie our wait staff was really nice and very prompt. She went out of her way to help us out. The food was great and very fresh and quick. Tony the manager was helpful and really friendly. Would visit again.

I came to ask Italian with high expectations. Considering how much the dishes are I would expect decent quality, let me say it wasn’t a bad experience what so ever. Service was good and the staff are friendly, the starts are really good. The problem is the mains, unfortunately the mains were not great at all, and for £20 a dish I would expect a lot better, the pasta was dry and hard, the sausages in the pasta was basically plastic. My girlfriend had the lasagne, not great what so ever. I would like to add its bottled beer, which I just don’t personally like. If I knew it wasn’t draft which is my fault I didn’t take into consideration, would off been a lot better. Honestly overall atmosphere and service was good. But the quality of mains was just so disappointing.

Excellent experience at Ask Stratford upon Avon. We’d actually booked Carluccio’s but have to realising they have one Vegan option on the menu, which is simply pasta in tomato sauce we left and went to find somewhere else to eat. The manager here was absolutely superb. He squeezed us in, He knew exactly what he was doing with allergies and we had a fantastic meal. Can’t speak highly enough we will definitely be back.

The most disappointing was food. King prawns in tagliatelle pasta were frozen and small, only 2 big and fresh ones were put on the plate . Pasta didn’t taste fresh. Bad tiramisu, the biscuits were completely soaked which is totally wrong ! Very expensive when we talk about the food and the quality of the food we were given. Also staff ignored our request to book a nice table for two and they put us down the main access route for waiting staff and customers and looks like they have not allocated the table beforehand… no check back how the food was, no “goodbye” or “thanks for coming” on the way out. Not going back, not recommending

It was a quiet day but the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The food was very good and we will return. Had a slight problem with a voucher (3rd party issue NOT the restraunt) the manageress was very helpful and polite and resolved the issue. The star off for atmosphere was due to us being the only table in- not their fault.

Such genuine lovely ,friendly staff. Couldn’t do enough for us & our granddaughters. Very pleasant visit & would definitely be going back. Quality food too xx

We often eat in, but had takeaway today. Food was still great, arrived warm, well presented and tasty. Stratford-on-Avon's Ask has become a regular place for us to drop in for dinner because it is always reliably good food with great service.

Fantastic food and excellent service from Bex!!

Hemos estado aquí varias veces, el sábado nos reunimos con un amigo y reservamos este restaurante en el último minuto. Es como cualquier restaurante de cadena, muy bien decorado y los asientos pueden estar cerca de otros. Así que en la comida, fui por el hongo al forno, este fue un gran comienzo de la comida, mi esposa y amigo tenían pan con tomate para empezar. En cuanto a la red, mi esposa y yo tuvimos la carne de res y pappardelle ragù, esto fue muy agradable, no parecía mucho en el plato, pero era más que relleno. Los postres aquí son excelentes, nuestro amigo fue por la cáscara de chocolate con helado, se vierte sobre la salsa picante y esto se derrite en el pudín de abajo, era similar en mi plato, hay helado y galletas de abajo, verter la salsa de toffee caliente en la esfera invertida, esto se derrite y cubre el helado con chocolate y toffee, fue una gran manera de terminar una excelente comida, el servicio también fue genial.

Vine aquí con la familia, la comida es muy promedio y vino rápido sobre la pasta cocida. y de mal gusto. No molestará de nuevo, ya que el precio no refleja la comida

Cuando llegamos, la camarera nos recibió de manera poco amable, y se negó a darnos otra mesa junto a la ventana. Pero ella todavía nos sentó donde era conveniente para nosotros. Cuando pedimos comida y bebidas, ella caminaba cada pocos minutos y miraba nuestros platos con una mirada desagradable. Lo cual me pareció muy grosero y nada educado. Por cierto, la comida estaba bien. Pero debido a ese trato inhumano, no quiero volver allí en absoluto. Por cierto, estábamos viajando desde otra ciudad.

the service in here was wonderful felt so welcome Rebecca was so accommodating and really made me feel welcome and Tony had a smile on his face to greet us i will definitely be coming back

Apologies fir being late with this revue, my wife and I dined at ask Italian on the 23rd of Oct 24 in Stratford on Avon. I've given 5 stars for everything as the food was done to perfection and it was presented very well the staff were very professional . Next time we are in Stratford we will definitely be paying another visit. Bill C.

Very good. Tucked away in the hidden modern development of Bell Court ( almost all chain restaurants). Italian menu, pizza, pasta and others. Nice room, pleasant service. Recommended.

Amazing restaurant. i have food allergies and they catered to them amazingly by having the manager deal with all my food & having stickers on the plates to give me reassurance. The allergy book was easy to use. The service was amazing as well. Really recommend

Terrible food, oven baked dishes were served cold, it felt like they were warmed up in the microwave before serving, staff would not even ask if we like it.Not recommended!

Dark and dingy, poor food with undercooked pasta and bland sauces... You don't expect much from a chain but this was really bottom of the barrel. We scared the staff coming in to the place it was so dead...

I had an amazing experience at Ask Italian - Stratford on 22nd August 2024! Tony, one of the staff members, was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The food was good but service was very slow. Our grandchildren were very restless having to wait so long. The meal took over 2 hours.

I booked a table for my partner and myself for tuesday evening at 19:30 hrs, only to find on arrival that the table had been given to other people! After a weak apology by a member of staff, we left. We won't be going back again, either. No customer care, just greed for business.

It was the best meal I ever had at ask. Our waiter-Tony-was one of the nicest and kind people I had ever met. It was my daughter's birthday and he even put a candle in her ice cream and sang a warm hearted happy birthday to her. I will definitely come here again...thanks to ask and tony!

We have visited the restaurant with our quite anxious 8 year old grandson. He and ourselves were made to feel very welcome. We all loved the delicious food, the takeaway boxed brownie didn’t make it home as the grandson found it too irresistible. Was sorry to have not been able to pick up a bag as none left. All in all though a great experience 5*****

We like it here, the atmosphere is great, even when it's quiet. Food is good but not amazing. The mozzarella and tomato side dish really needs better quality tomatoes! Really friendly service.

We had lunch at the restaurant in Bell Court in Stratford upon Avon with our grandsons on Monday. The food was delicious, and it was great value for money. Our table service was excellent, and we loved the little glass of raspberry lemonade we were given as a free treat as soon as we sat down. We’ll definitely be going back.

We only popped in for a quick meal after a day out in Stratford with an 11 year old but we were very impressed. It is a lovely restaurant, the food was brought out quickly and was fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Really child friendly as well. Would definitely use this place again and recommend it.

1st time visiting Ask Italian, it was for my birthday, the food was amazing and came out quickly and hot, we 1st had Adrienne who took our drink order, we found her to be rude and abrupt, luckily she didn’t serve us again, we then had Gracie who was absolutely lovely and very friendly and helpful, she is a credit to your restaurant, we will definitely be back

We arrived about 6.50pm without a booking and were told that,if we had not booked, there were no free tables. We walked outside and I went on the website and quite easily booked a table for 5 minutes later, we walked back in and were greeted by the same waitress and I told her we had now booked, we were then seated. Seemed strange. Other than that the food was lovely

Warning-tip culture venue.. Our group of four couples recently dined at Ask Italian in Bell Court, Stratford-upon-Avon, and had a generally delightful evening. The restaurant’s atmosphere is cozy, making it a perfect spot for our small gathering. The food was good, service was excellent throughout the meal. Our server was attentive, friendly, and managed our small group with ease. Drinks were refilled promptly, and our courses were timed perfectly. The staff’s professionalism and warmth truly enhanced our dining experience. However, one aspect did leave us all somewhat annoyed. The automatic addition of a service charge to our bill felt presumptuous. This was only seen by us allafter the meal, and after we paid. We discussed this after leaving and our views we unanimous. While we understand that tipping is a part of dining culture, it would have been more respectful to allow us to decide the amount based on the service we received. Each couple added extra to the total amount on each tab, making it a double tip all around. Being a group, it is understandable to have a service charge, but not to highlight it on the bill. Not one of us saw the automatic 10% tip, and this is why we gave EXTRA to the waiter, who decided to keep quiet.. Ask Italian provides excellent food and great service in a lovely setting, making it ideal for group gatherings. Nevertheless, the management should reconsider their approach to tipping, allowing guests to show their gratitude in their own way and highlighting the added tip on the bill as well as educating the staff to be open about what was added to the bill innthe first place. I hope the staff enjoyed their 15 - 20% tip....yes this is why you get a three star not a 5. FOR THIS REASON, NON OF THESE COUPLES WILL RETURN TO THIS VENUE.
