Wildwood Kitchen in Stratford-on-Avon

Sadly, we have just had an extremely disappointing meal in this restaurant. I ordered Spaghetti bolognese which was described as being served in a 'rich ragu sauce'. The sauce was not rich but was waterery, and lacking in any flavour. Extremely disappointed. Possibly the worst pasta bolognese dish I have ever had. My husband's dish of seafood linguine was slightly better but amazingly he was charged extra for more chilli ! Would not recommend this restaurant.

Visited on a quiet Friday afternoon, had a fantastic lasagne and spaghetti Bolognese, and a very nice wine, very reasonably priced for the area, staff very attentive and helpful, well worth a visit.

Just happened upon the restaurant. Really lovely food and friendly staff.

Stelios was very polite, friendly and very professional. However the £10 off promised for our next visit did not materialise I guess this is just a ploy to get people to complete the review form. Would probably use Wildwood Stratford upon Avon again though as we did enjoy the food.

The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! We had Ravioli and it was a real treat. A huge shoutout to the chef for their amazing skills! And the service was top-notch. Our waiter, Stelio, was a lifesaver. He made sure our dishes were served warm and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. His manners, communication, and hospitality were truly exceptional. It’s rare to find such great customer service these days, so I wanted to give him a special mention. 👏🏽👏🏽

Nice location on the main road but with a basic level of food. Service is a bit slow, we had to wait 15 minutes for drinks

Had a very pleasant experience at Wildwood Pizza and Grill. Food and service was excellent.

Excellent food, beautifully presented and very fairly priced. Attentive and helpful staff (thank you Stelios!) friendly and charming but never obsequious! A good atmosphere and relaxed surroundings. No hesitation in recommending.

We had an excellent lunch there today - the food was great, the atmosphere was lovely , and the recipes were quite innovative. The service was excellent as well, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We'll be sure to come back next time we're in town!

Hacía frío en el restaurante. Para 'Seniors' parte de la impresión en el menú era ridículamente pequeña. Somos veganos. Bigger than it looks, fab food and great service

Lovely restaurant, great staff who were really attentive and also very helpful with food options for a dairy allergy. Really great location in centre of Stratford and nice atmosphere too.

Every time we come over to Stratford-upon-Avon to see a play at RSC, we have our dinner here and they never fail us! Tonight we tried two of their new pizzas and their classic seafood linguine which were all super delicious!! Thank you 😊

Posticino incantevole, trovato casualmente dopo aver peregrinato per la città. E' stato recuperato da un vecchio edificio . L'interno é molto semplice pulito e luminoso. Il personale molto gentile ragazze molto premurose e pronte ad accoglierti. Abbiamo preso semplici piatti, ma ben cucinati. They ran out of Steak. Service was slow

Met up with the mums for our Christmas dinner. Food was very tasty. Main choice on our table was the chicken and chorizo risotto. Full of flavour 😋 great amount of meat. Didn't think much to the service, appreciate it's near Christmas so the staff are probably exhausted. But no smiles. When we asked for the bill, as only some of us drank alcohol, we decided to add our own items up and pay individually. The restaurant added a 10% tip that couldn't be taken off the bill as it was already included in the total. There was no option to pay our own discretionary tip. There was no question from the staff if we are happy with the amount they have added. The restaurant had to refund us then give us the option to pay our own discretionary tip. Too much faff for the end of our visit.

I just had an amazing meal here, and I can’t recommend it enough! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Bucatini alla norma and Margherita – pure flavour. The friendly service made us feel right at home, and everything was spotless. Honestly, the whole experience was just fantastic, from the warm welcome to the speedy service. I’ll definitely be back for more!

We visited this restaurant on the 21.11.24 for a special occasion, my parter also works for wildwood, which as a bonus gets 50% off the bill, we explained whilst getting asked whether we wanted drinks that we have 50% off due to staff discount, there was a whole fuss about it, the lady which we didn’t actually get her name but was ginger, said she had to speak to the area manager about this (ridiculous). First off, entering the restaurant we waited 5 minutes to be seated. Food etc was actually okay, not the best I’ve ate at a few wildwoods before and never experienced anything like this. so now we had to sort this outside the restaurant as we got told no, you will not get your staff discount on everything , only the workers meals, yet online it says 50% off for family and friends, never returning.

By chance we popped in for a late lunch, and so pleased we did. The welcome, the food and the whole experience was delightful. The Goat's Cheese Bruschettas followed by Peri Peri Chicken Penne were beautifully prepared and served and, I can assure you, very much enjoyed! Certainly a place we'll visit again.

Great venue amazing food and service

Went there for a birthday lunch, greeted by an empty restaurant. After waiting for just under 10mins we were finally seen by someone. We were seated and ordered drinks and then food. They pretty much just left to it the entire time, Absolutely shocking! Far more welcoming at McDonald’s… Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Food was fine, as to be expected from a chain. My penne arrabiatta was aldente and nicely spicy. The calzone was a bit burnt with an undressed salad making up the rest of the plate. My other friends cheese and mushroom pasta was tasty but nothing interesting. The aperol spritz were rather poor and need work. Why a 4 stars you might think? Well, we were meeting for my friends birthday and atmosphere and service plays heavily in the overall experience, and this was outstanding. Our servers Beth, Katie and one other girl whose name I didn't catch went above and beyond to make our night special. My friend whose birthday it was felt truly celebrated. They were also really thorough about my allergy to dairy and came back to reassure me what I'd eaten would be dairy free. We got chatting to the couple on the table next to us and the waitresses were more than happy to sing happy birthday at the top of their lungs and bring more side plates and takeaway boxes to split the cake. Kudos to them and it's really reassuring to see that people still care about providing good hospitality. So, with that in mind if you're looking for a meal that will wow your socks off then this isn't likely the place for you. However, if you're more looking for a lovely atmosphere then I'd highly reccomend this spot. Would I come back? Without a doubt

Really nice staff, I went with my friend I ordered a Margherita pizza and my friend got a spicy chorizo pizza. We both enjoyed our food. The food was fresh and looked amazing. Staff were attentive and let us take our time. By the time we finished our food it was pouring down and the staff were kind enough to let us wait out the rain. Unlike bigger chains who want you out. I'd absolutely recommend this place to anyone on the area. You are more than a customer.

Ordered a chicken topped pizza,,a beef and cheese topped baguette,with a wine and lemonade, plus two pints of cider .a soup of the day a coffee and a cake.main course came the chicken walked over the pizza on stilts loads of onions and little else if I'm honest they put about 5 pieces of shredded chicken on the pizza.bill came £83.00 never again.8 pound service charge included in bill just to rub salt in the wounds.never again.

Ducked into this restaurant on a dark rainy day very late last year and didn't regret it. Felt very homely and cosy, food was so good and we stayed long enough because it was just nice, atmosphere and service and all. Had the mushroom risotto and husband had a steak and we had some drinks, they were all very palatable and nostalgic. We think of this place everytime we talk of Stratford. Thank you so much!

Underrated food quality and value for money, excellent pizza and pasta

Went in for food yesterday evening and although I’ve got to say the girls were lovely, my food, Carbonara, was bland hardly any pancetta, even though I’d asked for extra and was it pancetta? Because the pieces were small and tasteless actually resembled a cheap ready meal not homemade as stated on the menu. The worst Carbonara I’ve ever tasted.

Pizza mal cocida y fría. Se lo dije a la camarera, a quien no le importaba. Pedí que lo recalentaran. Se lo llevaron y lo “recalentaron”, pero todavía estaba frío. El pudín de toffee pegajoso también estaba apenas caliente. No te disculpes. Sin descuento.

Decided to try this instead of the larger chains, however wish we had just gone to zizzis. The service was slow, asked for water and only given one glass each- and couldn’t find any staff to ask for more as they hid in the back. I ended up having to drink my own water as couldn’t find a member of staff to ask for a refill or a carafe which other tables were given. After the food was delivered no-one came to check how the food was and when they cleared the plates- there was no question from staff of how it was, and had to tell them the food dry before the staff ran away from the table, there was no real apology and given the starter was barely gone due to how inedible it was- would have expected more than that. Finally had to go to the till to get a bill- after being ignored yet again- as we couldn’t get the staff to bring the bill- even when they had been told we didn’t want anything else. So not only was the service terrible, the food was also awful- got the rosemary garlic bread which was so dry it was inedible and it was left. The mozzarella pizza was flavourless and the baked chicken and mushroom penne was bland and with mushrooms that were so rubbery I had to spit it out.

Our older children being greeted at the entrance at 8.10pm and being advised “just so you know, we close at 9.15, will you have enough time” and when my son answered, “yes, that’s fine” received the response of “are you sure” should have been a red flag .. the kids also mentioned that a couple seated ahead of them weren’t asked any such questions, they were seated in a pleasant manner! … what made the experience even more bizarre was when at 9.05pm, an elderly couple came into the restaurant and were seated pleasantly right next to us! .. I’ve since found that the restaurant actually closes at 9.30pm, as clearly stated on their own website! Once we had joined our children, we decided to stay as we were quite hungry but the service was very frosty and indifferent throughout, the only staff member who seemed remotely engaged was Megan who was great! .. the food was surprisingly quite good apart from the portion indifference between the penne arrabbiata and baked chicken and mushroom penne (the latter was quite small for a main pasta dish) and the pizza picante carne tasted as though it had been made in a rush. The drinks were really good, especially the strawberry lemonade and the passion fruit crush! We very much value service as much as we do the food whenever we dine out and on this occasion, we were quite let down by wildwood staff and their indifferent approach towards customers, appreciate a family of 4 may be a bigger task for the kitchen than a couple of diners but this should never be obvious to any customers at all .. do better wildwood!

We were looking for a place to eat then we stumbled across this italian restaurant. We don't have any reservation today but they let us dine in since there's a space and time available. We really love the service and food. Feels like we're back in one of the restaurants in lake como. Thank you so much!

We had the meals delivered so can’t comment on service and atmosphere. Just commenting on food. It was a good deal with buy one get one free green beans and salad. Liked that the green beans weren’t overcooked and salad was fresh. Spaghetti carbonara had not pancetta or bacon or anything. Just the sauce and pepper. Chicken and mushroom penne was delicious. Chicken burger was so dry with no sauce included. Would order green beans and penne again but not the rest.

Went for a late lunch early tea... Nice laid back atmosphere - rustic design - food was beautiful - rosemary garlic bread to share at the start...top notch the mains were Picante Pizza - outstanding with a nice kick to it...awesome pizza base nice and thin...and the Philly steak sandwich wow the steak was out of this world...certainly recommend and will definitely eat here again.

Honestly, not a bad place to eat. The food under the lunch deal was reasonable, the portions were of good size and the food itself was decent. The staff were accomodating and I have no complaints. 🚨That said, I really hate this Americanist-influence of adding a "discretionary service charge" to my bill and having to ask for it to be removed. It makes no mention of where the charge goes (i.e kitchen staff, waiting staff, head office pockets?) and to be quite frank if I'm going to leave 10% of the bill out of good will you can bet your bottom dollar something had to be amazing. That said, I was going to tip the girl who served us but this left a bad taste and I had it removed and left nothing instead. Head office stop being greedy.🚨

What a lucky find! We were looking for somewhere to have lunch on a hot day in July and came across Wildwood. The lunch menu was excellent value for money. The portions were large and tasty. Service was attentive. Give it a go.

What an amazing place. We had spent the day exploring Stratford Upon Avon and my daughter wanted to take us to the Wildwood restaurant as she has one in Salisbury where she lives. I was in my wheelchair and I noticed a step to get inside, so thought this would be impossible. My daughter went in and seconds later a nice young lady came out with a wheelchair ramp, no fuss, no hassle and in I went. I have to say this was an amazing experience I seldom get even in the 21st century. These young people went out of their way to ensure everything was good. The food was superb, very tasty and well presented. The portions were generous too. They also serve the most sublime orange squash I have ever tasted. The young staff were very atentive and seemed very happy, they were certainly well organised. Thank you so much guys for an outstanding meal and evening.

Been to quite a few Wildwoods now and always love it, great choice of food and mix of amazing pizzas and pastas etc. I think the manager looked after out and she was great!

Instant regret after choosing to dine here. There was a bit of a mold smell to the section we were sat - near the front window, mind you, and but some dark corner. Our starter was forgotten and never arrived. Probably a blessing. The pasta was a disaster -- overcooked to a mush -- and only topped by the lawn clippings that were passed off as a £5 salad. I'm left as bitter as the weedy 'salad' greens.

Went for lunch here Sunday, 26th May 2024, and had a disaster of an experience here. They were hopelessly understaffed, and they were extremely stressed out and unpleasant. I would say it's no fault of their own, but that doesn't excuse their rudeness. We were served by a blond waitress that sounded Dutch or something similar and were treated terribley.

I am happy with service of Nerusan. And he is serving nice sweet ice cream with vanilla and deserts delicious.

Unfortunately one dish wasn't what it should have been, had to speak to the waitress who relayed back to the chef and manager could have been better .

Overpriced and not great quality. I had the prawns to start. 5 prawns that were over cooked and lacking flavour for £9. Lacked atmosphere.

So there is no option to put no stars. We went tonight but were waiting to be seated for at least five minutes. Normally this wouldn’t have phased us, but we didn’t even get an acknowledgment to say that we will be with you very shortly. Very disappointing to be honest.

I normally love Wildwood (food is always great!), but I got to say what terrible and rude service received sadly from all but one waitress. Very dissapointing service and especially one waitress was not only rude but also aggressive... terrible service...

Had my sons 21st birthday dinner party at Wildwood last week and we'd do it again. Their pizzas are excellent and everyone really enjoyed the food. Staff are super friendly and courteous and can't do enough for you. You'd be hard pushed to do better than Wildwood as restaurants in Stratford upon Avon go. We recommend the Carbonara Pizza and Philly Cheese Steak Pizza.

Lovely restaurant where we stopped for lunch with friends during a day out in Stratford. The food was good value, served quickly and we were all pleased with our meal. We had a lunchtime special deal, which for a popular tourist destination was a very good price. The staff were all pleasant and friendly, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Stratford.
